Seems like the Disney Infinity Toy Box is about to get even more crammed with the addition of the Lone Ranger Playset based off the new Lone Ranger film starring Johnny Depp releasing later this year. Within the new Playset, players can take on the role of the Lone Ranger or Tonto as they set out to bring Butch Cavendish and his gang of outlaws to justice.
Key gameplay highlights of this new pack include:
Ricochet Combat: The outlaws in the play set are clever and will seek to hide behind cover or ambush the player whenever they can. Fortunately, a unique ricochet mechanic allows both Lone Ranger and Tonto to hit the bad guys indirectly and around corners by lining up shots that bounce off of pots, pans, bells, posts, or other metal objects.
Mounts: Players will find traversing the Wild West and the areas surrounding the town of Colby to be much quicker on the Lone Ranger and Tonto’s iconic steeds of Silver and Scout or any one of the other many horses that can be found throughout the play set.
Train Defense and Customization: He who controls the railroad, controls the West. In the Lone Ranger play set, players can build and customize their own train, complete from the trim on the wheels, to the painting on the cars. A key part of the gameplay revolves around building up the train and getting the right resources to the right locations.
Toy Box: In addition to these game mechanics, the Lone Ranger play set also allows players to bring in all the buildings, mounts, weapons and other surprises into the Toy Box so that players can include their own wild west gameplay into their imaginative scenarios.
The list of franchises being added to Disney Infinity is continually expanding, with the Monsters University Playset and Pirates of the Carribean Playset recently being unveiled. For more information on the game, check out the Official Disney Infinity Website. The Lone Ranger Playset will contain physical figures that unlock digital content when used with the game and will be available seperately alongside Disney Infinity when it launches in late August for the Wii U, 3DS, PS3 and Xbox 360. Check out the trailer below to see all the Wild West action for yourself!
With E3 happening in under a week it only makes sense that every company start coming out with their latest trailers for their biggest games in an effort to get the gaming community talking before the event kicks off. As such, today Bethesda has released their E3 trailer for Wolfenstein: The New Order.
The video can be seen below and it serves as quite the history lesson where the Nazis actually manage to win the war and start to dominate the world with an iron fist assisted by some super-science. If you were hoping to be playing another Final Fantasy game that doesn’t involve micro-transactions before the end of the year then you may be disappointed to hear that Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII has been delayed until 2014. The title will be released on February 11, 2014 in North America and February 14th in Europe.
Despite this setback, Square Enix has released a new trailer for E3 which focuses on the city of Yusnaan as well as the return of Snow Villiers who looks like he wants of a piece of Lightning, but it also looks like pretty much everyone wants her to be killed off.
This is an odd little pairing of videos. So far we’ve seen the Sorceress and the Fighter paired together as well as the Elf and the Dwarf and now Atlus USA has released a pair of videos focusing on the sturdiest most muscular character alongside the frailest looking one. That is of course, the Amazon and the Wizard.
As you can see in the videos below, Dragon’s Crown’s signature art style remains true to form with these two characters as they feature exceptional designs as well as some great combat styles. Currently Atlus and Vanillaware’s Dragon’s Crown is set to be released on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita on August 6th.
Remember how Sega was holding a special Facebook promotion to try and gauge interest in Hatsune Miku Project Diva F? Well it seems to have been successful. Today Sega announced that they are bringing Hatsune Miku Project Diva F to both North America and Europe this August. In North America a physical retail version of the game and a downloadable version of the game will be released while Europe will be getting a download only version.
This is the first time that a Hatsune Miku title has ever been released in the West and this is some amazing news for fans of the vocaloid who have been adamant about seeing the game brought to Western shores. The game will feature all 38 unique songs, an edit mode to create and share your own videos, and 90 costumes and 100 accessories to customize the vocaloids.
To top this all off, the songs will remain in Japanese and only have an English subtitle option, meaning fans of the game will not have to be concerned about translation problems. A demo of Hatsune Miku Project Diva F will be released on the PlayStation Network on June 11 in North America and June 12 in Europe.
During Konami’s pre-E3 presentation earlier today they spent much of the half hour presentation focused on Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2. During this focus time they discussed some of the new features that make Lords of Shadow 2 better than the original, including free exploration that allows the player to walk all over the game’s world without any load times. It was also said that the title will be much darker and crueler than the first Lords of Shadow game.
After this discussion the company released a six minute E3 trailer which can be seen below. As for the game itself, it is currently set to be released this winter on the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Ever since it was fully unveiled a few months ago, people have been wondering who would be voicing Snake in the next Metal Gear Solid game. It was already known that the previous voice actor David Hayter wouldn’t be retaining the position and today during Konami’s pre-E3 presentation they announced that Snake will be voiced by Kiefer Sutherland who will also be doing the motion capture for the character.
The reason for this change is that Kojima wanted to give Snake a more subdued voice being in his late 40s now and wanted a worker who could use his face to convey emotions rather than only his tone of voice. As for the game, The Phantom Pain will be about “race and revenge” and be a much darker title than past Metal Gear games according to Kojima.
