Screenshots and Video for NHL 11

NHL 11 was just released on September 7, 2010.  What is different in this years game? Lets find out.

  1. The Canadian Hockey League (CHL) has entered into a four year agreement with EA to feature their three regional leagues:Western Hockey League (WHL), the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) and the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL.)  60 teams are included in the CHL integration.  It will also feature likenesses of players, logos, jerseys and names from the CHL.   Finally, the Mastercard Memorial Cup will also will be playable.  These improvements will be available in Be a Pro mode, Tournament mode and a variety of other modes.
  2. More than 200 gameplay enhancements will be injected into the series. These enhancements include a new face off system, quick dekes and hip checks.
  3. A new real time physics engine puts real world puck and player physics into the game.  The new “Broken Sticks” feature makes it so that no play will die.  The player will be able to kick the puck to a teammate or have a teammate pass a stick to him.

The game looks to be fun, and I can’t wait to try it.

Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood – Dev Diary 2

While this most recent Dev Diary doesn’t really tell us anything about the game that we don’t know, It does show us some in game footage to gives the viewers a feel of what the game will look like.

Some key points in the video for those of you who don’t want to watch it is the focus on horseback riding, the fact that the area is three times the size of Florence, and emphasis on the training and customization of your team mates.

Enjoy the Dev Diary, which if I may add is a very nice looking dev diary.

Machinarium Coming to WiiWare

Amanita Design and XGen Studios today shared the news that the award-winning Machinarium, one of the best PC adventure games released in 2009, is coming to the WiiWare later this year.

Machinarium is a point-and-click adventure game which tells the story of a little robot hero who’s been thrown out to the scrap yard behind the city and must return to confront the Black Cap Brotherhood and rescue his robot girlfriend. Some of the most impressive points from the game are the clever puzzles, the beautiful hand-drawn environments and the amazing soundtrack.

“As the subject of enormous critical acclaim, this is an honor long overdue for Machinarium. We’re very fortunate to be working with the talented team at Amanita to share this interactive work of art with a whole new audience of gamers.” – Jordan Dubuc, Director of Operations for XGen

There’s no date set yet, but for now you can take a look at the WiiWare announcement poster:

Sengoku Basara – new screens

Capcom has released a slew of new screenshots showing off two characters from the newest installment of the Sengoku Basara series, Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes, Keiji Maede and Motochika Chosokabe.  Both characters look like they can handle their fare share of combat.

If it isn’t already obvious, Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes is looking to be a great game with lots of action on the screen.  I mean come on, look at those explosions!  Can’t beat that, right?

Expect more info on Sengoku Basara to explode out of TGS next week and look forward to the game releasing on store shelves for the Wii and Ps3 on October 15th for Europe and October 12th for North America.

WiiWare/DSiWare releases for this week ending 10th September

0

Seven titles available to download on DSiWare/WiiWare. However, is 7 a lucky number in this instance? You decide:

  •  Trailblaze: Puzzle Incinerator (DSiWare: Nintendo, 500 Nintendo DSi Points)
  • Music on: Acoustic Guitar (DSiWare: Abylight, 200 Nintendo DSi Points)
  • Where’s Wally? Travel Pack 3 (DSiWare: Ludia, 500 Nintendo DSi Points)
  • myNotebook: Tan (DSiWare: Nnooo, 500 Nintendo DSi Points)
  • My Aquarium 2 (WiiWare: Hudson Soft, 500 Wii Points)
  • Racers’ Islands – Crazy Racers (WiiWare: Zallag, 1200 Wii Points)
  • Balance Training: Physiofun (WiiWare: Kaasa solution GmbH, 2000 Wii Points)

Among the releases this week are ‘Where’s Wally? Travel Pack 3’. The books have always been enjoyable so for anyone who wants to see if the series made a good transition onto the DSi, it’s an option. The previous instalment, ‘Where’s Wally? Travel Pack 2’ actually came out last week too. One of the most expensive WiiWare titles to date has also been released this week; Balance Training: Physiofun at 2000 Wii Points. It remains to be seen whether the quality is there to justify the price, although at such a price, the downloadable game is edging it’s way towards the pricing of some shop releases.

Playstation Move Game “Get Fit With Mel B” Announced

Who is ready to get fit!  Yes, um, me too.   Deep Silver has announced that they will be publishing “Get Fit With Mel B” on September 28, 2010.  This release date correlates with the release of the Playstation Move, and it will be the first exercise game to be released with the Playstation Move.  Mel B will guide the player through various personalized exercise routines.  Tutorials and fitness goals allow the game to be tailored to each player.  One very interesting feature of this is that it will allow players to integrate their accomplishments with Facebook updates.  Another original idea to be implemented in this fitness game is diet, nutritional advice and meal plans.  It will also be able to  integrate fitness accessories like resistance bands. “Get Fit With Mel B” will be released for $49.99 USD.   For those with no idea who Mel B is, this quote sums it up rather nicely:

“With her fantastic performance as a finalist in Dancing With the Stars, her role as the host of Oxygen’s Dance Your A** Off and her work for the Susan G. Komen Foundation’s “Pose for the Cure” breast cancer campaign, Mel B’s dedication to health and fitness makes her the perfect choice to inspire users of this program to improve their overall well being,” said Deep Silver Chief Operating Officer Geoff Mulligan. “This program, using brand new PlayStation Move technology, will allow participants to be inspired and motivated by Mel B as their personal trainer every day, all for much less than the price of a gym membership.”
