Developers Full Fat have just announced that their title Flick Golf, the top sports game in over 100 countries, has come back on the Android and iOS platforms and is absolutely free! But the title wont be just a direct port, Full Fat has added updated visuals, more challenges, and faster to bring fans and newcomers alike in for the action.
The game brings you the challenge of competing on several extremely detailed courses, but not in the manner you would expect from a golf game. Instead of selecting various clubs a la most other golf titles, you just flick your shots as you try your best to spin the coveted hole in one. Its not as easy as it sounds though, as hazards are ever present on the courses like the usual bunkers, trees, and water and lest we forget the effect the wind can have on an otherwise great shot.
Intense head-to-head action is also available via the Flick Golf Challenge mode, or race against the clock in the time-trial based Quickshot mode as well as a World Tour mode and put your skills against ridiculous conditions in Legends mode.
Additional information on Flick Golf as well info on their other releases can be found at Full Fat’s official site.

The freshly announced anime project by Trigger, a studio founded by Gurren Lagann director Hiroyuki Imaishi and writer Kazuki Nakashima, is about colliding forces between hotheaded schoolgirl Ryuuko and her stern counterpart, Satsuki.
Now we have a detailed look at the heroines and an insightful interview from Newtype magazine of the men behind this endeavor who’ve expressed their sometimes conflicting nature into their new work.
Interviewer: What sort of characters are Matoi Ryuuko and Kiryuuin Satsuki? Imaishi: Ryuuko and Satsuki are developed through their clashing. Initially, Ryuuko was a bit of a gloomy/introverted character, but we gave her a brighter personality because Satsuki is cool and hard as ice. Nakashima: Both of them are main characters. Their universe has uniforms that match an individual’s talents/skills and give them respective powers, and Satsuki is trying to rule the Academy with that uniform’s power. Ryuuko resists this movement. It’ll be a sculptured drama centered around both of them. Interviewer: I see that you two make a great team. What do you like about working with each other? Imaishi: Ever since TTGL (Gurren Lagann), Nakashima balances out my irresponsible and childish impulses with adult rationale and reason, while keeping things fun. Not only that, the “fun” approach fits me very well. So the work is made really easy. I’d like to work with Nakashima loads more in the future, if he doesn’t mind. Nakashima: With Imaishi, I can go full throttle with my style. And the folks at Trigger can make that into an excellent work. It’s really too much fun.
BADLAND Developer: Frogmind Publisher: Frogmind Platforms: iPhone (reviewed), iPad Release Date: May 5th, 2013 Price: $4.49 – Available Here
Overview
It isn’t every day that a mobile game can take your breath away. But BADLAND does just that. It is a breathtaking game that can be enjoyed both casually on-the-go as well as in more serious gaming sessions. There is a certain magic to BADLAND thatis simply undeniable. What Frogmind have crafted is a beautiful game, that is as fun as it is absorbing. If you haven’t yet gone to the BADLAND, you are missing out on one of mobile gaming’s finest experiences.
Gameplay BADLAND is a simple game with an undercurrent on complexity, the likes of which are just about unmatched. It plays similarly to games such as Jetpack Joyride, with the player touching to fly and maneuver through the game’s awe-inspiring world.
With shades of Limbo and Rayman: Origins, BADLAND’s visuals feel just as much a part of the gameplay as anything else. With the darkened foreground, it becomes difficult to determine how an object will react to your presence or touch. Part of what makes this game so special is its world which feels so very alive. The small details of how the world reacts to you make this game all the more fun and simultaneously all the more challenging.
As you progress through levels in the single player mode, you will come across a number of different orbs that each have a different effect. Some orbs change your size to either bigger or smaller, others multiply your character forcing you to control a swarm of little critters. There are also orbs that change the way your character behaves, such as orbs that make him stick to things, roll on things or bounce off of things. All of this adds even further depth to the gameplay, creating multiple situations and possibilities for each and every level. The full extent of which is seemingly immeasurable, but regardless of that you have to use your head with this game otherwise your little critters will end up as mush.
The single player mode is very creative, with inventive level design that feels varied and complex. The game itself is relatively easy to play, with just about anyone being able to get a grasp of its mechanics, but it can be very difficult to master.
BADLAND’s also features a multiplayer mode which involves several players using one device for local play. On the iPhone the multiplayer mode can be rather frustrating as there is little room for each player to touch with players being designated a certain portion of the screen. I feel that this mode would work far better on the iPad, but it was still very much playable and enjoyable on smaller devices such as the iPhone.
This game is addictive to its core, it will hook you in and drag you into the BADLAND for an experience you’ll not be able to forget.
Visuals and Audio
Make no mistake about it, BADLAND is a beautiful game through and through. It is atmospheric, with an ominous tone that is counterbalanced with the cute design of the fluffball protagonist. The shadow drenched aesthetics serve BADLAND well in immersing the player into this mysterious yet compelling world. It is a visual delight that is among the best looking mobile games on the market.
The soundtrack of BADLAND is suitably dark, with slow moving tracks that build tension and excitement with the deftest precision. Using droning sound effects BADLAND builds upon its visual atmosphere with ease, bringing the game’s mood full circle.
Overall
If there is a mobile game out there as unique and captivating as BADLAND, I haven’t found it. This is a game that comes along once in a blue moon. With BADLAND, Frogmind have stamped out a place in the mobile market as one of the platform’s most inventive developers. This is a game that must be played. It proves that mobile games can be just as deep an experience as any other game. BADLAND is many things, but bad is not one of them. It is simply phenomenal.

Interested in the upcoming PC strategy title, Wargame AirLand Battle, by Eugen Systems but not sure how the units and armies come together? Creative Director Alexis Le Dressay talks you through the Deck system where players spend earned points and choose from over 820 authentic units from 12 nations to field in their army on the multiplayer battlefield.
In Wargame, players create specialised armies before fielding it in battle or choose from a set of presets to begin with. These armies, or “Decks”, are built on their personal preferences or to counter their opponents and complement their teammates. In hectic 10v10 clashes, having a set of customised decks to choose from seems vital.
An interesting bonus system is used too, so if you stick to a specific fighting tactic or nation in your deck you’ll get high performance prototype units or more reinforcements for example.
AirLand Battle’s Deck system is shaping up to be more flexible with more options for specific play than in its predecessor’s, European Escalation. The game is published by Focus Home Interactive and is due for release on May 23. Check out the video outlining this integral gameplay component below.
