2K Games and Firaxis have given players more insight into the update to XCOM: Enemy Unknown via a new trailer, dubbed “War Machines”. The trailer showcases the new enhancements available to the agents of XCOM: Enemy Within. Characters may be augmented in two ways: Biologically or Cybernetically.
As seen in the trailer, those with cybernetic additions gain a physical boost, going toe to toe with some of the bulkier enemy types. These soldiers also gain a flamethrower and large machine gun, to go with their new technology. Those with biological upgrades seem to gain an increase in jumping, allowing for more manoeuvrability, as well as a defence against mental intrusion.
All of these abilities, and presumably more, will come in handy against the two new enemy types: the Seeker and the Mechtoid. Whilst the Mechtoid presents a looming figure of mechanical terror, the Seeker appears to use invisibility to get in close before it attack with it’s tentacles. Creepy.

All eyes have been on Disney lately for their recently released video game behemoth; Disney Infinity (check out our review here), but lets not forget that Disney‘s bread and butter are making timeless movies that are beloved the world over. Say what you will about them, but I don’t know a single person who didn’t grow up watching Disney animated films. The coming months will be a great time for Disney fans everywhere, with some old classics being re-released, and some newer films being available for the first time.
The House of Mouse have a great lineup of family-friendly films hitting store shelves over the next few months. Starting Sep 11th when The Little Mermaid swims ashore. Fans can enjoy the wonderful tale that has been meticulously restored and presented for the first time ever in eye-popping 3d.
Following in Aerial’s footsteps (I think I am proud of that pun)The Jungle Book is also getting a sexy new restoration. The beloved tale of a boy raised in the wilderness will be available to own on Blu Ray/DVD on Oct 2nd. Oct 2nd is a big day for Disney, as aside from Jungle Book, Disney are also releasing Super Buddies and Odd Life of Timothy Green on DVD the same day. Super Buddies follows the life of five puppies who discover rings of power that bestow them special abilities, while Odd Life of Timothy Green is a touching tale about a couple planning to have a child, and the little boy who winds up on their doorstep.
Rounding out the month of October is the home media release of Disney’s The Lone Ranger, the western action/comedy inspired by the old television series of the same name. Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer lead the cast through the dangers of the Wild West as they attempt to stop Butch Cavendish.
November is a bit of a smaller month, and will only see the release of one movie, but boy is it a good one. Pack your bags, get on the bus and get ready to scare, as Monsters U, the prequel to the legendary Monsters Inc staring John Goodman and Billy Crystal will be bursting out your cupboard doors November 13th.
While that is a stellar lineup of home releases, don’t forget that Disney also have a few films set to release in cinemas too. Planes, staring Dane Cook, te spin-off film of the popular Cars franchise takes to the skies later this year, while Thor and Loki return from Asgard in the latest Marvel epic; Thor: The Dark World.
So there you have it, an awesome few months lie in wait for anyone who enjoys great movies. Do you plan on grabbing any of these? Let us know in the comments below, and remember that for all the Disney news, stay tuned to Capsule Computers.

Yesterday marked a sad day in the anime world. Hayao Miyazaki has decided to leave his directing days behind him and settle into sweet retirement.
The announcement was given at the Italy’s Venice Film Festival by Koji Hoshino, who is the current head of Studio Ghibli. He denied reporters further information, saying that Miyazaki is to have a conference next week in Tokyo to give more details and say goodbye to all his fans.
Miyazaki plans to retire with the film ‘Kaze Tachinu’ or ‘The Wind Rises’ as his final masterpiece, which came out in Japanese theaters in July. The beautiful story is about a boy who become a fighter jet designer during World War II, however, unlike Miyazaki’s previous work, this movie is based on true historical events and characters.
Since the start of his career in sixties, the 72-year-old master of anime has won our hearts with many of his creations, most which would forever remain as classics such as ‘The Castle of Cagliostro’, ‘My Neighbor Totoro’ and ‘Spirited Away’.
Although I am feeling pretty blue about seeing him go, I wish him the best for his well-deserved retirement.
The upcoming racing title will be coming out for the iPad and will feature what has been dubbed as “Race Face,” which will let the player take a picture of themselves and put it on the driver in the game. The game will also feature a large set of boosts and upgrades players can get to augment the way their car accelerates, handles, and more.
You can check out the full developer diary video in the video player below this article. Also be sure to check out 2K Games’ official website here.
Keiji Inafune, the man behind such lauded franchises as Onimusha, Dead Rising, and the Mega Man franchise, has finally gotten his Kickstarter going for a spiritual successor to the beloved Mega Man franchise.
Called Mighty No. 9, the game is up on Kickstarter right now. A quick look at the game and the resemblance to its heritage is easy to see. The game will be a classic side-scrolling action game where you’ll run, jump, blast, and transform, using abilities stolen from your enemies. Sound familiar?
The game will be developed for PC via Steam. Folks interested in donating to Comcept‘s newest project can visit the official Kickstarter page here. You can also check out Comcept’s official site here.
The team over at Studio Trigger have just begun streaming a small 30-second ad/teaser for the upcoming Anime, Kill La Kill. The ad features the opening theme song from the series, “Sirius” by Eir Aoi, and narration by a talking sailor uniform which just so happens to be the being worn by Ryuko matoi, the main character of the series. The ad brings us up to speed, story-wise, it introduces us to the “wandering transfer student” Ryuko Matoi as she enters the new school run by student council president Satsuki Kiryuin and, let me tell you, she runs it with an iron fist! “The freedom that is fear. The liberation that is control. The truth that is contradiction.”
The anime will start it’s run during the next season starting on October. A great deal of the staff that worked on Tengen Toppa Gurren lagann will be reuniting to work on Kill La Kill so I have no doubt in my mind that it will be an incredibly action-driven, with an amazingly unique and fast-paced story and with characters that you will definitely remember. To get you even more excited for this release I’ve added a small gallery of character models from the series just below, so head down and check it out but don’t forget to hit up our comments section below that to let your voice be heard.
