The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing out now!

The-Incredible-Adventures-of-Van-Helsing-Screen-01

NeocoreGames has just announced that The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing is out for PC via Steam at the small price of $14.99. What can you expect? Well, those that can attest to Diablo III’s gameplay can certainly relate to that of Van Helsing‘s. Interactive environments with a wide range of mystical enemy variations are the regular occurrences of the gothic-noir title. Bram Stoker’s Dracula might be even jealous of this storyline…

Here are some of the key features:

  • Detailed level-up system – Players are able to spend points on hit points, mana, damage, and much more as they traverse through skill trees to mold Van Helsing to their liking.
  • Hunter’s Lair – A central hub for players to stash collected loot, trade with non-playable characters, accept new quests from allies who join the resistance against the scientific scourge, teleport between locations, and utilize the alchemy lab.
  • Tower-defense mini-game – When the Hunter’s Lair is attacked by enemies, players have the opportunity to defend their home with deployable traps and several upgradable functions to ward off evil.
  • Rage system – Enabling players to have up to three active skill modifiers called PowerUps, players have the ability to charge their PowerUps by way of spending Rage points collected from impressive feats.
  • Unique companion system – Lady Katarina, a ghost with snappy wit, comes to the support of Van Helsing with her own set of abilities, behaviors, and skill tree.

Take a look at the launch trailer below as well as our own preview for the title (here). Remember the title is only – $14.99 (perhaps $13.49 if you are lucky)!

Bungie has revealed a 60 second live-action/CGI mix trailer directed by Jon Favreau and featuring Giancarlo Esposito, of Breaking Bad and Revolution fame, for their highly anticipated MMO-like first person shooter Destiny, set for release late this year.

Called ‘Law of the Jungle’, it revolves around the mythology of the game’s future-based world in which players take the role of a Guardian of the last safe city on Earth. The trailer is designed to “introduce the world and characters of Destiny as a grand fable for the ages”, said Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision Publishing.

During the trailer Esposito is seen reading the Jungle Book, and he emphasizes a particular passage from it that illustrates the strength in numbers wolves get from their pack. This is all intertwined with cinematic action sequences of armored fighters battling on harsh planets. Sadly no gameplay is shown, but it does still give one a taste of the action-packed adventures that players can expect to have.

Publisher Activision noted that worldwide gameplay reveal will take place during Sony‘s E3 Press Conference on 10th June. The trailer can be seen embedded below.

Chop, Slice, Dice! Ok enough about dinner ’cause it’s time to fight!

A fresh, new trailer for Namco Bandai’s Toriko game “Gourmet ga Battle” has just been released and it’s making us all work up an appetite! The crazy, action-packed, four-player 3DS brawler is hitting Japan sometime this Summer and a new promotional video has just been released. The video shows a whole lot of what the game has in store from power-ups, to support characters, to group battles with the series’ various colossal monsters. Adding to it all there will also be a “Gourmet ga Battle Tournament” which is supposed to feature a brand-new and original story.

A list of playable characters has been released and they are as follows:

Toriko, Coco, Sunny, Zebra, Teppei, Starjun, Grinpatch, Tommyrod, Match, Takimaru, Guemon, Melk the Second, Terry Cloth, Zonge, Shuu, Alfaro, Chin Chinchin, and Chiyo. Among the support characters are Komatsu, Rin, Tom, Melk the First, Yosaku, Love, Yun, Chiru, Chirin, Monchy, and Kuromado.

This line-up is fairly awesome for a fighting game. With this many of the main cast as playable character neither you nor your three friends will have to fight to play as your favourite character.
