BulkyPix’s Brand New Game SongRush Is Almost Ready To Hit Up Smartphones and Tablets

SongRush-00

BulkyPix is back in action this summer for what they have said is to be their “lastest home-grown production” with the game SongRush! SongRush is a fresh, new and exciting music-based game where each and every level is generated by a song of your choice. With SongRush you use your favourite tunes to play your game.

The game is a “musical runner“, you guide a 2D, cartoon-styled character through particular courses which play out to the songs that you choose. The aim, of course, is to get through the whole song picking up bonuses and scoring points the whole way through. You start the game by choosing a song, any song, SongRush will use it no matter what it is, and the level will adjust itself to fit the melody and tempo. You take control of Ink who is the game’s funky, fresh main character. You help Ink avoid obstacles and you yourself use your knowledge of the songs’ particular changes in tempo and beat to anticipate what comes next and what you can do to get around the impending obstacle. Sliding and jumping at just the right times will earn you sweet combos, points and “perfect” runs that will increase your total score but keep the beat, players, because if you’re not feeling the rhythm then Ink will be in peril and could be snatched up by the tentacle monster he’s running from!

There are also player achievements to keep you going with this game for hours on end. You can compete against your friends in weekly tournaments, climb the leader board by challenging players worldwide and eventually become the true “Lord of Dance”!

SongRush is a free app that will be released on all iOS devices on the 20th of June (This month) and all Android devices sometime early July. Check out the gallery below to see all the pictures we have of the upcoming game and go study up on those tunes so you can be the best runner the world has ever seen.

Crimson Dragon announced as an Xbox One exclusive

Crimson-Dragon_2013_06-10-13_004

You may recall a Kinect game involving a flying dragon that you control was in the works for the Xbox 360 named Crimson Dragon. Well that game was announced quite some time ago but has been delayed non-stop with almost nothing said about it until some leaked footage at the start of the year.

The reason for all that silence was probably the fact that Crimson Dragon is now an Xbox One exclusive. Today during Microsoft‘s E3 Conference the company announced that Crimson Dragon will be a Xbox One exclusive and to commemorate the announcement they have released some new screenshots of the game in its next-gen glory and some gameplay footage.

Zoo Tycoon announced for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One

zoo-tycoon-reveal

Remember Zoo Tycoon? I sure do as I loved the game on the PC back in the day but it has been a long time since any Zoo Tycoon game was released. Well that has all changed because even though Microsoft didn’t think the announcement was important enough during their E3 press conference, it has been announced that Zoo Tycoon will be released on the Xbox One and Xbox 360 sometime in the future.

The new game will feature “all your favorite zoo animals available for a new level of up close and personal interactions with the animals and zoo, and with intuitive controls and fun tutorials that are enjoyable for players of all ages.”

The game is going to feature the Kinect but may not require it’s use at all times. Anyways, check out the trailer below and keep an eye out for more news as it becomes available.

Xbox 360 Redesign Announced at E3 2013

xbox-360-slim-redesignUnhappy with the way your Xbox 360 slim isn’t slim enough for you or for some reason haven’t picked up an Xbox 360 console yet but are looking to do so? Then we have some great news for you!

Today during their E3 2013 press conference Microsoft announced that they will be releasing a redesigned Xbox 360 console which will feature a “modern look and feel based on the Xbox One design.”

It is being shipped to retailers in many regions right now which means it will be available for purchase very soon. Unfortunately with this redesign the price has not shifted at all and the 4GB console will still cost $200 while the 250GB console or 4GB Kinect bundle will still cost $300.

As a thank you to the millions of Xbox fans around the world for their passion and loyalty, Microsoft have also announced that every Xbox Live Gold member — new or existing — will receive two free Xbox 360 games per month starting July 1 until the release of Xbox One. These will include popular titles like Halo 3 and Assassin’s Creed II.

Xbox One Priced at $499 and will be Released in November

Xbox-One-Front-01

One thing many people were hoping to hear at Microsoft‘s pre-E3 conference was just how much damage the Xbox One will do to people’s wallets and when it will be doing so. Well today we now have that information, though the release is still a bit vague.

At the conference Microsoft announced that the Xbox One will retail for $499 USD, $599 AUD, €499, and £429. As far as a release day goes, Microsoft only stated that it will be released sometime in November. Considering the bundling of the Kinect with the release, this $500 price point is below what I was expecting the console to cost but it still may have caught many by surprise.

Microsoft is also introducing a limited edition commemorative bundle to fans who reserve the system at major retailers, available in limited quantities, while supplies last, at the same RRP as standard. Each commemorative bundle will include an Xbox One system that comes in premium black packaging with a limited edition Xbox One Day One wireless controller, as well as a unique commemorative Day One Achievement.

Gamers who reserve the following exclusive Xbox One Day One edition launch titles, available in limited quantities at major retailers while supplies last, will receive special bonus content:

  • Ryse: Son of Rome Exclusive multiplayer map and sword with bonus attributes.
  • Forza Motorsport 5 Access to four cars tuned to the top of their class.
  • Kinect Sports Rivals Exclusive sporting equipment that separates your Champion from the rest of the world.
  • Dead Rising 3 Exclusive Frank West and Chuck Greene Tribute Packs with bonus attributes.

In addition, for a limited time, gamers can also get a Day One 12-month Xbox Live Gold membership and play Killer Instinct: Round One, with the exclusive Shadow Jago character, on Xbox One. Players will also receive a commemorative Day One membership card.

Microsoft does away with Microsoft Points in favor of local currency

microsoft-point-card-discontinued

Despite the conversion rate being very simple to understand, many people have disliked the way that Microsoft Points were used for digital purchases instead of simple cash values. Well that is all about to change because today during their E3 conference Microsoft announced that they are doing away with the Microsoft Point system on the Xbox One and will instead be listing game prices with local currency and nothing else.

This means that gamers no longer have to worry about buying a 1200 MSP game and instead can simply pick up the $15 game without having to worry about any pesky conversion systems.

Star Wars: Battlefront Teased At E3

Star-wars-battlefront

During EA‘s press conference at E3, it was announced that DICE has begun working on a new chapter in the Star Wars: Battlefront series. Very little has been revealed, but a video teaser was shown. We do know two things however. Firstly, is that this is the result of a recent partnership between EA and Lucasfilm, and secondly, Star Wars is awesome and if you disagree you’re a stuck up, half-witted, scruffy-looking Nerf herder. The Star Wars: Battlefront series has been absent for a while now, so it’s nice to see it return in full force. No word on how it’ll be released yet, but I think it’s safe to say we can expect to see it on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

Check out the Star Wars: Battlefront teaser below!

Minecraft: Xbox One Edition announced today at E3

minecraft-xbox-one-edition-01

Are you sad that you won’t be getting a dose of Minecraft on the Xbox One because it isn’t backwards compatible with 360 titles in any form? Well you no longer have to worry because today it was announced at Microsoft‘s pre-E3 conference that they are going to be bringing a special Minecraft: Xbox One Edition out to the Xbox One sometime after the console is released.

The game will look well, like Minecraft but will not be as limited as the Xbox 360 version of the game. Currently it is being said that the Xbox One Edition will feature larger maps, expanded multiplayer and probably more updated features similar to those found int he PC version.

Battlefield 4 To Have Exclusive Xbox One DLC

battlefield-4

During the 2013 Microsoft E3 press conference, DICE announced Battlefield 4 will be receiving exclusive Xbox One downloadable content. This DLC pack is called “Battlefield 4: Second Assault”. Second assault will feature four fan-favourite Battlefield 3, but re-imagined using the Frostbite 3 engine. This was announced along side the “Angry Sea” single player mission demo during the conference. Fans of the Battlefield series will know that multiplayer is probably the main attraction for the franchise so I’m sure Xbox owners will appreciate this. Sony PlayStation owners….maybe not so much!

Battlefield 4 will be available for purchase in November just in time for the Xbox One release.
