Titanfall Revealed as Xbox/PC Exclusive

Titanfall-Screen-01

To close out Microsoft‘s E3 2013 press conference, Respawn Entertainment took the lid of its much speculated inaugural title, Titanfall. The E3 announcement trailer can be viewed embedded at the bottom of this article.

Years after the studio was formed, Titanfall is finally going to be coming to players in Autumn 2014, exclusive to the Xbox platforms and PC. It delivers fast-paced, near-future warfare on a distant frontier ravaged by war that is entirely multiplayer campaign based – a revolutionary multiplayer experience. On the battlefield, players will be able to switch between 24-foot tall, agile mechs and their elite, assault pilots for different tactics and levels of manoeuvrability (no, the mechs aren’t invincible; you can’t stay in them forever).

Vince Zampella, a Co-Creator of Call of Duty and Co-Founder of Respawn Entertainment, states;

It’s an exciting time in the industry and it feels like the perfect time to be unveiling TitanfallOur passion at Respawn is games and we are focused on bringing something exciting to kick off the next generation of software.

Titanfall Game Director Steve Fukuda added;

In addition to infusing the multiplayer experience with cinematic flavor, we’ve been rethinking fundamental combat and movement in the genre. Titanfall is unique in the way that it places equal emphasis on two drastically different and new ways to move and fight in a first-person shooter. The intersection of the two is a big part of what give Titanfall its iconic identity.

Hopefully the actual demonstration will be uploaded online soon and we can share that with you. Stay tuned to Capsule Computers for more about Titanfall.

D4 by the mind of Swery65 announced for Xbox One

d4-swery65

Today at Microsoft’s pre-E3 conference it was announced that Swery65, the man behind the Deadly Premonition video game, is back to make an episodic mystery game featuring cel-shaded graphics and an interesting looking combat system.

You can check out the very limited footage of the game below where unfortunately no real details were revealed. Currently D4 as it is called is an Xbox One exclusive but no real release details were given beyond that. However after his work with Deadly Premonition, with Swery65 behind the reigns of the game it is certainly going to be something very unique to say the least.

Metal Gear Solid V Gameplay Shown for Xbox One

MGSV-XboxOne-01

No one could have accurately predicted how Microsoft‘s E3 2013 press conference started off: with Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain showcased on the Xbox One.

It looks stunning, and yes that header image is from the open world title (confirmed!). The almost 6 and a half minute long gameplay footage can be viewed embedded at the bottom of this article. It showcases many never-before-seen aspects and mechanics, such as “a new breed of stealth”, using straddling the side of the horse to hide as you pass by a convoy on the opposite side as an example. This is a big deal to see the title come to a Microsoft console (although it’s not the first, it’s usually associated with Sony). It has also adopted the same tagline as Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker – “Tactical Espionage Operations”.

More Quantum Break footage shown off at Microsoft’s E3 conference

quantum-break-e3-grab

Today at Microsoft‘s pre-E3 conference Remedy Entertainment took to the stage to show off some more footage of their barely revealed Quantum Break. The new footage of the game still gives us little detail but it was described as “in-engine” footage of the game in motion.

The Xbox One exclusive seems like it will allow players to manipulate time to their benefit as the trailer below shows two agents freezing time and rescuing a woman who is about to be killed in an explosion and interrogating her for information. Expect more details about Quantum Break to be revealed over the next few months.

Dead Rising 3 announced as Xbox One exclusive

dead-rising-3-e3-reveal

Today during Microsoft‘s pre-E3 conference it was announced by Capcom that Dead Rising 3 is on its way and it will be an Xbox One exclusive. The title will feature an all new protagonist named Nick and will take place in an open world setting in the city of Los Perdidos. The game will give players an entire city to work with which will be devoid of load screens meaning that players can take advantage of cars to navigate the zombie infested city to gather supplies, weapons, and finish missions.

It seems that everything can be used as a weapon and Nick can create custom crafted items anywhere no longer forcing the player to find work benches to create weapons. You can catch both the announcement trailer as well as six minutes of gameplay footage below.

Ryse: Son of Rome Revealed for Xbox One

Ryse-Son-of-Rome

A brand new IP was revealed for Xbox during the E3 2013 conference, Ryse: Son Of Rome. Featuring intense action, an ancient setting for warfare and plenty of quicktime events, Ryse: Son of Rome could be Microsoft’s answer to Sony‘s God of War, but with a more realistic approach. With stunning next gen graphics, players will not just fight barbarians but also command their own roman army with lots slow-mo action with a stylistic nod towards the film 300. Ryse was easily one of the biggest highlights of Microsoft’s conference  complete with a 7 minute gameplay video. Developed by Crytek, Ryse: Son of Rome will be an exclusive title to Xbox One.

Watch_Dogs ‘Exposed’ in New CG Trailer

Watch-Dogs-Exposed-01

Prior to E3 2013, Ubisoft released a new, lengthy trailer for Watch_Dogs entitled “Exposed”.

The trailer – which can be viewed embedded at the bottom of this article – focuses on Aiden Pearce’s expert ability to hack into your life without you even knowing…but he wants you to know. “Who you know, what you’ve done, where you’ve been…your secrets won’t stay secret long.” Those who believe themselves to be untouchable; they are his targets. He’s practically omnipresent. At the end they remind us all of the awesome Dedsec Edition that you can pre-order now.

There will undoubtedly be more Watch_Dogs news coming out of E3 in the coming days so stay tuned to Capsule Computers.

Microsoft Shows Dark Souls II Footage at E3

dark-souls-2-banner

E3 is already promising to dish out the punishment with footage from Namco Bandai‘s Dark Souls II. A new boss battle displays classic Souls levels of punishment, standing stories above the player. Enemy encounters displayed the same ferocity you would expect but other than the boss none of them were actually engaged.

It’s a short glimpse but worth checking out below if you’re waiting with baited breath like me. Design wise it looks like the visuals are clearer this time around. There’s less murkiness with the greens, browns and greys without losing the atmosphere that defined the previous game. I’m itching to play this one and die again, and again, and again.

Sunset Overdrive Announced for Xbox One

Fuse won’t be the last of new IPs from Insomniac Games. Today, the company announced their new game entitled Sunset Overdrive for Xbox One. This colourful and cartoony shooter will pit players against a city overrun by mutants. A teaser trailer has been released, showing off a world full of zip lines allowing players to quickly traverse the landscape with parkour style movement. The game appears to have some wacky weaponry like the vinyl disk launcher that is supported by more traditional weapons like the shotgun. A mysterious energy drink is teased in the trailer that seems to have an explosive effect when fired from the shotgun. Sunset Overdrive appears to be a multiplayer co-op game as name plates are spotted above the other human characters in the trailer.

Sunset Overdrive will be released for Xbox One. Check out the official E3 2013 teaser trailer below.

Killer Instinct Announced For Xbox One

Killer-Instinct-2013

It’s finally here!

Less than an hour ago a brand new Killer Instinct title was announced for Xbox One at E3 2013. For those unaware of the franchise, Killer Instinct was an arcade fighting game made through the partnership of Rare, Nintendo and Midway in 1994. It saw a port to Super Nintendo and a sequel 1996. Now almost 20 years later, the franchise has been rebooted and is coming to Xbox One. Considered to be one of the greatest fighting games of all time, KI defined itself for having preset combos and it’s awesome announcer.

Xbox One will be available this year in November, and Killer Instinct will be released this year as well. With that in mind, I think it’s safe to say that Killer Instinct will be a launch title for Xbox One.

Make sure you check out the trailer below!
