new-atelier-rorona-reveal- (3)

As you may have seen in our article yesterday, Gust is remaking the original Atelier Rorona under the new name New Atelier Rorona and it is set to be released on the PS3 and Vita sometime this November. Today not only have the first screenshots of Rorona’s revamped character model been released by Famitsu, but more details about the game have also been revealed.

Besides the redesigned character models, the background and map designs have also been given a makeover. There will be a slew of new content in the game, including a private vegetable garden, displaying specific items as decorations that will provide benefits, time capsules to put items inside to create new items and a revamped battle system that will play like the one found in Atelier Meruru.

It has also been mentioned that save data from Totori and Meruru Plus will also provide the player with special benefits, but these have not been revealed as of yet. Currently Tecmo Koei has not announced New Atelier Rorona for Western release, though with gamers currently waiting for Atelier Escha & Logy, it may be some time before an announcement is made.

Dead Island: Epidemic Announced

Deep Silver has just announced today that they will be adding an all new game to Dead Island universe after the fairly successful release of Dead Island: Riptide, which was able to stay in first place on the UK sales charts for 3 weeks. The next game however will not be the same FPS/RPG styled game as the previous two, but branch out in its own way as a ZOMBA (Zombie Online Multiplayer Battle Arena) akin to the currently popular MOBA genre.

The new game will be titled Dead Island: Epidemic and will feature 3 different teams of players all competing for survival. Outside of being set for release for PC as a free-to-play game though, the information is very limited. More information will be forthcoming however, during this years Gamescom. Nintendo Brings Animal Crossing: New Leaf to Wii U (Kinda)

As part of today’s Nintendo Direct video, Satoru Iwata, CEO of Nintendo announced that a new app will be available for Wii U owning, Animal Crossing fans.

As of right now, Animal Crossing fans are able to download the “Animal Crossing Plaza” app from the Nintendo Wii U eShop. Isabelle, the secretary from New Leaf (check our review here), along with Lloyd and a huge variety of characters from the game will all be making appearances in the plaza. These characters will share information about the game, MiiVerse posts, and information about upcoming calendar events and SpotPass promotions. In addition to learning all the latest and greatest goss about the game, you can also share your clothing and design QR codes straight to the plaza, where anyone can scan them straight off of their Gamepad and into their game.

“Wait! Did you say MiiVerse posts?” Yes I did, thank you astute reader. Iwata also proudly announced the launch of the brand new Animal Crossing MiiVerse. The MiiVerse will operate exactly the same was all of Nintendo’s other MiiVerse channels. You can access the Animal Crossing MiiVerse directly from your Wii U, or through the MiiVerse website here.Lastly, Nintendo also announced a brand new “Animal Crossing Welcome A Friend Promotion.” The Promotion allows you to get a friend a free copy of Animal Crossing: New Leaf, just for owning a copy yourself. It is a somewhat tricky process, but I will cut down all the nitty-gritty and just put it in a list for you:

  1. Player with Animal Crossing: New Leaf registers their copy to their Club Nintendo Account.
  2. That Player will receive a special Code.
  3. That Player gives the code to a friend
  4. The Friend registers a 3ds XL Console from August 7th – October 7th, and also redeems the code that they received from the original player.
  5. Once verified, the Friend will receive a free downloadable version of Animal Crossing: New Leaf.

There, simple isn’t it? If you know someone who would love Animal Crossing (which face it, is pretty much everyone), or you just need someone to trade fruit with, then get your code and get sharing.Three bits of Animal Crossing news in such a short span of time, and it is only the tip of the iceberg!

You can check out the Animal Crossing Plaza and MiiVerse section of the Nintendo Direct Presentation below. Stay tuned to Capsule Computers for all of the Animal Crossing and Nintendo news as it becomes available. Oh and see you at the Animal Crossing Plaza!

Zelda Wind Waker HD and A Link Between Worlds Updates

link-between-worlds-screenshot-01

As part of tonight’s Nintendo Direct Presentation, special focus was put on the upcoming Legend of Zelda titles; The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD, and The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.

A lot of the information was stuff that has been said before, but a few interesting pieces did manage to sneak their way out of the event. Firstly, aside from updating the visuals and controls for Wind Waker HD, Satoru Iwata, President of Nintendo also said that they had added an extra sailing speed (the speed of sailing was one of the original version’s only downsides), as well as tweaked how some of the late-game exploration and item gathering happened.

During the video, Link is shown pulling a piece of the Triforce out of a chest in a small dungeon area. Players of the original game will remember that you didn’t go through dungeons to collect Triforce Shards, and instead fished them out of the seas with your claw-hook. How big these new dungeons will be remains to be seen, but I am already a big fan of the idea. Check out the Wind Waker

Moving onto Link Between Worlds, Iwata confirmed that the black Triforce seen in the game’s title card was indeed a second Triforce from the “other world.” This is a cool revelation and has implications for the entire Zelda franchise moving into the future.

In addition, Iwata stated quite explicitly that Link Between Worlds takes place “many years after” the events of Link to the Past, and that the Link you play as in the new game is NOT the same Link as the original. With Nintendo stating that the game was a direct sequel to Link to the Past, many people just naturally assumed that you would be playing as the same Link, which makes this one of the biggest surprises of the night.

So there you have it, a few bits of information about the immediate future of The Legend of Zelda series. You will be able to pick up Wind Waker HD in October, and Link Between Worlds in November. Let us know what you think about Nintendo’s changes to Wind Waker’s Triforce gathering, and Link Between World’s NEW Link in the comments below, and always, stay tuned to Capsule Computers for all the Zelda news as it becomes available.

steamworld-dig-01

As part of last night’s Nintendo Direct Presentation, Satoru Iwata, CEO of Nintendo, and Satoru Shibata, Nintendo Europe President, spilled the beans on some of the release dates for their upcoming games.

Here we have condensed the massive amount of news into one, easy to follow list for your enjoyment:

  • SteamWorld Dig (3Ds eShop) – Available NOW
  • Super Mario World 2 (Wii U eShop/3DS eShop) – Available NOW
  • Pokemon Rumble U (Wii U eShop) – August 15th

Nintendo are really hitting our wallets hard fir the last six months of the year aren’t they. I feel we should take a moment for Professor Layton through, as Azran Legacy will be his final solo game, and vs. Phoenix Wright will be his final appearance ever. That’s right, the final appearance of Professor Layton will have him against the greatest fictional attorney of all time.

Let us know in the comments below which of these games (if any) you plan to purchase and why. Oh, and as always, stay tuned to Capsule Computers for all the Nintendo news as it becomes available.

Today’s Nintendo Direct Presentation was no different, with a staggering 18 soon to be released indie titles being showcased in under three minutes.

Everything from Cubemen, which was recently released on mobile (check out our review here), to games with names like Monkey Pirates and Lttle Dew was shown, and then some.

Check out the video below, which has all of the indie goodies that are coming Wii U owner’s way in the coming month. Luigi Joins the Battle in Super Smash Bros

super-smash-bros-luigi-02

During tonight’s Nintendo Direct Presentation, the latest addition to the growing roster of characters for the upcoming Super Smash Bros Wii U and Super Smash Bros 3DS was announced, and it was none other than Luigi.

Luigi’s addition comes as no surprise to anyone, as he has been present in all previous games, as well as 2013 being Nintendo‘s “Year of Luigi.” Regardless, it is still good to see Mario’s green-wearing lanky brother getting some love.

super-smash-bros-luigi-01

Sadly though, Luigi didn’t get a cool intro video, and instead we are limited to just seeing him in some screenshots for now. As with most returning characters, Luigi looks to be retaining a lot of his moveset and characteristics from the previous games, which I am sure will make competitive Luigi players smile (are there any competitive Luigi players?)

So are you excited for Luigi to be the latest challenger to appear, or would you rather him slink back off to his mansion? Let us know in the comments below, and as always stay tuned to Capsule Computers for all the Smash Bros news as it becomes available.
