FIFA 14 Pure Shot and Real Ball Physics Trailer

EA have released a new video detailing two of the new features in the upcoming FIFA 14 – Pure Shot and Real Ball Physics.

We’ve been presented a brief overview of these features as part of an overall package before, but this video shows the tech behind it all while members of the development team talk us through what we are seeing. Lead Gameplay Producer Aaron McHardy explained that specific player behaviours have been modeled into the game, such as Gareth Bale‘s ‘Knuckle Shot’…they even went so far as to replicate the airflow around the ball for better understanding of the “turbulence” of a ball that has been hit with no spin. Insane.

Check out the trailer embedded directly below. FIFA 14 is releasing on September 24th in the U.S, and on September 27th in PAL regions.

Zatanna Works Her Magic in Injustice: Gods Among Us

UPDATE: We can now confirm that Zatanna will be available for download, next Tuesday, August 13th for 400MSP on Xbox360, or $4.99 on PSN. Still no word on when she will be available for Wii U owners.

Since Injustice: Gods Among Us was announced, DC fans everywhere begged, and pleaded for Zatanna to join the game. Well it seems that Warner Bros. and Netherrealm Studios have been listening to their fans, as everyone’s favourite magician was announced as the next addition to the game’s roster.

Zatanna will be available as DLC, but much like Martian Manhunter (who was also demanded by the fanbase) does not come with the season pass. Zatanna’s moves look like they stay very true to the character, and have her casting magical fireballs and throwing cards like nobodies business.

Warner Bros. were kind enough to put out a trailer for Zatanna, which you can check out below. No word yet on when the mistress of magic will be available for download, but if it is anything like previous DLC for the game, you wont have long to wait. Are you a fan of Zatanna? Today Parrot have officially released the “Power Edition” of their popular Parrot AR. Drone 2.0 quad-copter device. The AR. Drone 2.0 is the second AR. Drone device from Parrot and enhances on the original design by adding a camera to the already existing AR. Drone controls which are accessed through your smart phone.

Interestingly, the new “Power Edition” promises 36 more minutes of flight time thanks to the new lithium polymer battery installed internally. It also comes in three different colours, “blazing red, fiery orange and cool blue”.

Hunter x Hunter: The Last Mission story details revealed

Following the initial reveal of the release date and name of the second Hunter x Hunter anime film. The story for Hunter x Hunter: The Last Mission has been detailed through Weekly Shonen Jump’s Hunter x Center feature.

The film revolves around the dark side of the Hunter Association and the countless crimes it has committed under the radar of normal society. Now that everything is illuminated and the crimes of the Hunter Association and its chairman Isaak Netero have been uncovered, how will Gon react to the true nature of the hunters?

Nintendo Direct to be held tonight

Nintendo have announced that they will be holding a Nintendo Direct conference tonight at midnight (AEST), between Wednesday 7^th August 2013 and Thursday 8^thAugust 2013 for Australia and New Zealand.

The conference will feature Nintendo President Satoru Iwata and Nintendo of Europe President Satoru Shibata as they bring updates on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS software for 2013.

New High-Res Panorama Shows Rome II’s Campaign Map

Yet another gigantic 30000×6116 screenshot has been released for Total War: Rome II, focusing on the Barbarian-held region near The Alps on the campaign map. You can view it here.

First thing you might notice is the Warmaiden of the Celtic tribe of the Helvetii. A new agent type called a Champion, she can hamper enemy armies by reducing morale, incite slave uprisings and so on.

The full campaign map will be huge. Featuring 183 regions and 117 factions it will stretch from Scotland to the Horn of Africa, and from Portugal to Afghanistan.

SEGA is launching Rome II on September 3 this year for the PC. Check out the latest trailer featuring Rome’s greatest enemy, Hannibal.

End of Summer Digital Manga Sale Kicked off by Viz Media

Today Viz Media has announced that they will be holding a “End of Summer” sale which will see literally all of their digital titles discounted. This means that all of the manga featured on Vizmanga as well as the ones available for download through the Viz Manga app on various smart phones and tablets have been discounted.

The sale kicked off today and will run until September 5th and during this time period, all of the manga will be discounted by 20%. This sale also includes all of the various digital manga releases between now and then, including some newly released titles such as Naruto Volume 62, Bakuman Volume 20, Red River Volume 19, and others and titles coming out next week such as Cactus’s Secret Volume 1, Magi Volume 1 and others.

Gon and Yusuke confirmed for J-Stars Victory VS

The latest issue of Weekly Shonen Jump has confirmed that Gon Freecss and Yusuke Urameshi will be playable characters in the hotly anticipated Shonen Jump fighting game J-Stars Victory VS.

For those who do not know, Gon is the protagonist of Hunter x Hunter and Yusuke is the protagonist of Yu Yu Hakusho, both manga series from legendary mangaka Yoshihiro Togashi. You can check out Gon and Yusuke in their J-Stars game form in the image to the right.

Daily Lives of High School Boys Premium Edition available now

Today NIS America’s next anime release, Daily Lives of High School Boys, is now available for purchase. Daily Lives of High School Boys has been given the premium edition treatment that the company is known for, but it is worth noting that the series is only being released on Blu-ray and is not a combo pack that includes DVDs.

As for the anime itself, Daily Lives of High School Boys follows Tadakuni, Hidenori and Yoshitake as they go through the awkward stage of high school where each episode will place these boys and their classmates in numerous high school situations that viewers themselves may have experienced. At the moment Daily Lives of High School Boys can be picked up from NIS America’s online store for $51.99 and anyone who picks it up from their store will receive a North Sanada High Tie while supplies last.
