New Phineas and Ferb: Quest for Cool Stuff Trailer Emerges

phineas-ferb-01

It wouldn’t be E3 week without trailers from all companies involved, and Majesco are ready to show a clip from their new title, Phineas and Ferb: Quest for Cool Stuff. Now, we seen this little romp revealed a little while ago, and is scheduled to hit the Wii U, Nintendo Wii, 3DS, and DS this August.

Here are some more details however to refresh your minds on why our heroes are after the “Cool Stuff”:

Watch Major Monogram showcase the latest in automotive technology as he features the boys’ newest ride, the A.T.T. (All-Terrain Transformatron). The upgradeable, ultra-cool amphibious A.T.T. is equipped with wall-scaling pincers, indestructible drills, and customizable colors. It’s a fun, out-of-this-world treasure-hunting adventure as the inventive stepbrothers enjoy their last week of summer. Meanwhile, Perry the Platypus, aka crime-fighting Agent P, isn’t fooled by competitors like Dr. Doofenshmirtz who plans on unleashing his evil horde of robot–inators to get rid of cool stuff in the Tri-State Area.

Sounds like an entertaining plot. You can check out the clip below that features some vehicles and other cartoon mayhem.

EA did not Lobby for DRM, Content with Current Used-Game System

xbox-one-used-games-meme

Across multiple interviews these last couple days at E3 2013, EA representatives have denied their rumoured push for DRM implementation in the next-generation, admitted that Online Pass was a mistake and claim to be happy with the second-hand sales market today.

Electronic Arts chief operating officer Peter Moore told Polygon this in response to speculation that EA wanted DRM;

Absolutely incorrect. As the guy who is the chief operating officer of Electronic Arts I can tell you that EA did not aggressively lobby for the platform holders to put some gating function in there to allow or disallow used games. I am on record as being a proponent of used games. I like the ecosystem. I like the fact that it’s kept pricing at a good level for eight years. I like the fact that someone can buy a physical game and see some equity in that game. That keeps GameStop vibrant and they are a great launch and marketing partner for us.

He went on to state;

We will figure out what we need to do. I’m not trying to back-pedal but this thing just happened and we need to reconvene and hear what people think and talk to our retail partners and our first party partners. We had no idea what Sony was going to announce. We’ll reconvene next week and figure it all out.

On the point of Online Passes – which EA recently discontinued – Moore candidly admitted;

It just wasn’t resonating with the consumer. It just wasn’t consumer friendly. It was hard work and it was as much work for the guy who would never trade his game in, even though we gave him some digital content, because you’re punching numbers in […] Online Pass was more trouble to the consumer than it was worth. It was a mistake. The consumer’s feedback was that this thing gets in the way of a good experience so let’s get rid of it.

Finally, EA Games label boss Patrick Söderlund echoed this sentiment to Eurogamer;

…And we’re not doing that because we talked to people, our fans and our players, and they said, ‘listen, we don’t want to play our games like this.’ We have to listen to them and we removed it. It’s that simple. We don’t have a problem with second-hand sales as they are today. We clearly articulated our stance when we abandoned Online Pass.

Respawn and EA on Whether Titanfall Could Come to PlayStation

Titanfall-Screen-02

After its impressive show-closing debut at Microsoft‘s E3 2013 press conference, Xbox/PC exclusive Titanfall received a lot of praise. It also drew the envy of PlayStation loyalists. Now, both publisher EA and developer Respawn Entertainment have weighed in on whether a future PlayStation 3 and 4 release is possible.

Lead artist Joel Emslie told Eurogamer;

When you boil it down, we would love to be everywhere, but we’re just starting out. It comes down to quality, not quantity. We have a fantastic relationship with Microsoft. It just boiled down to, okay, how can we hit this as hard as can and get it on as many platforms as possible and deliver the quality, the 60 hertz, out of the gate? That was the goal…We of course would want to go further in the future with stuff, but we’re just starting out. It’s pretty frustrating! We want to be everywhere. We want to put Titanfall everywhere, but that’s where we’re at. We’re starting there.

He goes on to mention how their vision of a completely multiplayer-based title is synergistic with Xbox One‘s online-focus, but does state, “It’s definitely not out of the question.” EA Games Label boss Patrick Söderlund added;

Obviously a business relationship between Electronic Arts, Respawn and Microsoft led to this. There are always reasons for that, but we can’t go into them….We haven’t communicated anything on that, and I can’t comment on that right now. We’re proud to be exclusive to Xbox.

Titanfall is due for release on PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One in Autumn 2014 Down Under.

Along with the E3 2013 trailer, Sony have uploaded gameplay vision for Sucker Punch‘s PlayStation 4 launch title inFAMOUS: Second Son. This is the first time we get to see proper in-game footage.The video can be viewed embedded at the bottom of this article.

It demonstrates Delsin’s myriad of smoke-based powers, the enemies he will face, as well as the level of destructibility present. He can phase in multiple directions and through certain objects, shoot fireball-like projectiles from his hands (the stance and animation is very similar to Cole’s in previous titles) and summon a chain that he can utilise as a melee weapon. Be sure to wait until the end to witness an extremely powerful super move. Oh, and D.U.P. (Department of United Protection) soldiers also exhibit powers of their own – “leaping”, as the hero refers to it – where they propel themselves away from a manifested column of rock, even being able to create rocky platforms to catch themselves.

The game is looking impressive. Stay tuned to Capsule Computers for all future inFAMOUS: Second Son and E3 2013 news updates.

In exactly a month from this writing, Tecmo Koei‘s Dynasty Warriors 8 will be gracing store shelves in North America and what better time than E3 to push out two brand new trailers highlighting the game’s new slightly improved graphics, brand new characters and relatively similar looking combat system.

The Axew are coming! The Axew are coming!

During their E3 Developer Roundtable, Nintendo has revealed more information regarding the upcoming Pokemon X and Y.

The largest reveal of the discussion was the inclusion of two new battle types: Sky Battles and Horde Encounters. Sky Battles, as the name suggest, are held above ground and as a result only flying type Pokemon or those with the ability Levitate may participate. Horde Encounters present the largest change to battle seen yet, being a new form of wild battle forcing players to take part in 5 on 1 combat. It has also been confirmed that Horde Encounters are not limited to one type of Pokemon and may include a mix of multiple species. Multiple rulesets for battles are also said to make a reappearance, though to what degree is unknown.

We will fight them in the skies!

Regarding the game itself, a single save file is still present. Backwards compatability is “being worked on” and PSS (Player Search System) syncing is available for the 3DS Friend List, along with both local and global (via Wi-Fi) functions for battling and trading. This system will also split those you connect with into Friends, Acquaintances and Passerby, with continual interaction allowing for a “promotion” function. This allows you to add Acquaintances and Pass By into the Friends category, which is capped at 100. This occurs by first battling a Passerby, upgrading to Acquaintance, then interacting once more with an Acquaintance, promoting them to Friend. The music track played during battle with friends is also completely selectable. Players may also change the language within the game itself: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese or Korean. X and Y will also make IVs and EVs more visible within the game itself. The Pokemon-Amie feature is also said to possess an additional, yet currently undisclosed, affect on Pokemon.

Multiple methods of transportation have also been confirmed, both within the Gyms of the Kalos region and in the world itself. It was also revealed that Gogoat is not the only ridable Pokemon, with the reveal of Ryhorn as a transport Pokemon. These Pokemon will be usable in different circumstances, such as using Ryhorn to traverse rocky areas, and will be borrowed for the task.

Finally, three new Pokemon have been introduced. They are:

Pokemon-X-and-Y-07
Clauncher (Water)
Pokemon-X-and-Y-06
Skrelp (Poison/Water)
Pokemon-X-and-Y-05
Talonflame (Fire/Flying)

Revealed along with the three new Pokemon, were moves each may learn: Clauncher learns Crabhammer, Skrelp learn Sludge Bomb and Talonflame learns Brave Bird. Talonflame was also revealed to be the evolution of the earlier introduced Fletchling, losing Normal but gaining Fire type in the evolution, and will focus on Speed. It was also confirmed that the earlier introduced Pokemon Vivillon and Noivern wil be Bug/Flying and Flying/Dragon respectively.

Neverwinter-Gauntlgrym-Screenshot-04

Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic Studios have quite a bit of news to unveil as their free action MMORPGNeverwinter – has grown immense popularity. Coming June 20th, the online game will enter its official launch stage as the beta testing will be completed. Additionally, the same day will make the release of Neverwinter’s latest end-game content – Gauntlgrym. This will enable veteran players to unlock new level 60 PvE/PvP content in the depths of the Underdark. Beyond these coming releases, the expansion Fury of the Feywild has been revealed. Cryptic Studios Executive Producer and COO, Craig Zinkievich said the following:

“Boy, we have a lot going on. But then that was the plan from the very beginning. The feedback from players has been incredible. With their help during our Beta Test periods and our accumulated experience from having launched five MMOs, we’re confident we’ve worked out all the major kinks and can sustain the world of Neverwinter without the Beta safety net. I personally thank our Open Beta players for providing an enormous amount of valuable feedback and supporting us during every single step of the development process. As a token of that appreciation, we’re running an in-game promotional event near the end of Open Beta. Of course, alongside the launch day comes the release of Gauntlgrym, which adds more end-game content. And, we just announced Fury of the Feywild, our first content expansion for Neverwinter, which will all be, in classic D&D® fashion, Modules. Yeah, there is a lot going on. But we wouldn’t have it any other way. The game is doing great and we love working on it.”

With tons of content to be released in the near future, Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic Studios aim to please. Check out the screenshots for the new end-game of Gauntlgrym below along with its unveiling trailer!
