Indie developers Relevo Videogames have become the first studio in the Basque Country to become part of the Playstation family, with the announcement of their game Baboon! for the PS Vita. The game itself originally began as a 48KB rom for the MSX System, before making the jump to the Vita.

Now they are floating around! What can we do now? The brave monkey Tumbili did not think twice, and protected with good ol’ grandpa’s helmet, he shoots himself into his most explosive adventure!

In game, you control Tumbili, a little monkey that bombs himself so he can proceed to the goal at the top of each stage. With different kind of bombs that have different effects in the gameplay, many worlds to explore and tons of puzzles to solve.

Remember the ‘Cracked for Cash‘ trailer we shared last week, that promised a random ATM in Canada would spew money if a Watch_Dogs Live app user cracked a code? Well, it happened…
The video embedded below shows live video recording of the ATM in question, and the reaction it garnered from nearby shoppers when it started expelling hundreds, maybe thousands of dollars. What do you think they did? More importantly, what would you do? What a dumb question…just take it, right?!
The app and alternate reality game are unfortunately Canada-exclusive, but we applaud Ubisoft for utilising such thematically consistent, fourth wall-breaking marketing. Speaking of, check out the WeareData website for a visual data map of major cities Berlin, London and Paris.
Jim Peyton took his job on the sub-zero, unforgiving ice planet of E.D.N. III knowing full well that his life was going to get hard, fast! But I don’t think he knew exactly what lied ahead.
Now, you can look through the eyes of the Lost Planet 3 protagonist himself as he ‘fights for the right to survive’. Watch the ‘Monologue Trailer’ embedded at the bottom of this article – the first entry in a series from the Coronis Diary, chronicling Jim’s experiences at the NEVEC base and beyond as he discovers dark secrets within the icy caves of the terrain. What will be revealed gives more insight into the colonial history of the planet.
Lost Planet 3 comes to us from Capcom, releasing August 29th in Australia for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Check in within 24 hours for our hands-on impressions of the recently unveiled multiplayer portion of the game.
A few months back we covered that Obscure would getting a new game in the form of a reboot, but it seems that fan reaction wasn’t what developer Mighty Rocket Studios and publisher Focus Home Interactive were hoping for. It seems that true fans of the original games didn’t like the direction the reboot was going in, so the decision was made to simply rename the game to Final Exam.
Besides the name, not much else is going to be changing for Final Exam, which luckily means that all the hard work put into the game’s new website only meant a few name changes here and there. So, players can now brush up more on the characters, monsters, and everything else on the official website.
As an added bonus three new screenshots have also been released, so players can view those by clicking on the images in the gallery below. Final Exam is currently set to release in September for XBLA, PSN, and PC.
Paramount Pictures is bringing the Michael Bay directed action-comedy, Pain & Gain, to cinemas nationwide on August 8, and we’ve got a humorous and… motivational, new clip to share from the film.
“Are you a doer?” That’s the question Daniel Lugo (Mark Wahlberg) is faced with when attending a life-coaching seminar by the charismatic and “inspirational” Johnny Wu (Ken Jeong). In my opinion, the bodybuilder has no choice but to drink the kool-aid… after all, Wu is ‘with seven honeys of which he can choose from’. Can’t argue with that success!
Check the clip out embedded below, and click here to see how Rebel Wilson’s character assures Anthony Mackie’s that “penis magic” is her specialty. Don’t worry, it’s not as NSFW as it sounds…not at all in fact.
After the webseries has released its second episode, fans of PayDay are definitely wanting to know what the sequel PayDay 2 will be offering in terms of gameplay this time around, so the developer Overkill Software and publisher 505 Games have put out a new gameplay trailer showing off what is new this time around.
As explained by PayDay 2‘s Game Director David Goldfarb, the game will be seeing many more RPG elements from customizing weapons, masks, and skills as players hop back into the shows of the 4 characters from the first game; Dallas, Hoxton, Wolf and Chains. But, it doesn’t have to be all run and gun, as players smash glass and scramble for cash, the game will also see some stealth elements for players wanting to attempt a quiet approach.
Players can see what else they can expect from PayDay 2 by watching the video embedded below. The 4-player co-op game will be releasing August 2013 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
Two weeks ago when Codemasters released the awesome Super Modified Pack for Grid 2, I was running on empty when it came to my car-themed puns. However, just as I thought I could pull into the pit stop for a tune-up, the makers of Grid 2 and Colin McRae Rally pump out another awesome DLC pack, and I am forced to turn my key and hit the speedway once again.
Grid 2‘s latest DLC pack is known simply as the “Drift Pack” and comes equipped with four special edition cars as standard (a Car ADD pun? really?). Each of the included cars have been driven by legends of racing and has been customised by some of the world’s best drifters (no, not people who keep going from place to place, racers who specialise in drifting). The customisation has made these cars deliver an absolutely unrivaled drift and race experience across all of Grid 2’s game modes.
The cars included in the drift pack are:
Daijiro Yoshihara Nissan 240sx (s13) – This 650bhp Nissan was raced to victory in the 2011 Formula Drift Championship by Daijiro ‘Dai’ Yoshihara.
Team Orange Mitsubishi Evo x – Converted from 4WD to FWD and weighing just 1290kg, its 2.3 litre engine with JUN AUTO custom kits pumps out 570 bhp and has been driven by Nobushige Kumakubo, General Manager of Ebisu Circuit.
Chevrolet “Tyler McQuarrie” Camaro– Powered by a COPO LS-7 V8 which produces 750bhp, this was raced in Formula D by American Tyler McQuarrie.
NOS Energy Nissan 370Z (Z34) – This drift machine weighs just 1297kg and is powered by a Nissan V8 VK56 Titan engine as driven by Chris Forsberg, one of the most successful drivers in Formula Drift history.
Like I said when the Super Modified Pack was released, I have no idea what a good portion of those words mean, but I can tell you that these cars are fantastic to drive. As you would expect from the “Drift Pack” the cars are especially suited to the twists and turns of the Japanese drifting tracks. You can download the Drift Pack for Grid 2 RIGHT NOW on Xbox360 for 480MSP and on PS3 and PC for $5.99.
While we are talking Grid 2, I is my happy duty to announce that RaceNet, Grid 2’s preeminent online system has finally made its way to the iOS App Store. Now you can access the heart and soul of Grid 2 anywhere you are, and check personal, community and friends stats with a simple tap on you mobile screen. Get the app now by clicking here.
If you are like me and are unsure how sexy the cars in the Drift Pack are simply by reading a few words on a page, then you are in luck! Codemasters have put out a new trailer for their Drift Pack which you can check out below. If you haven’t played Grid 2 yet, or are on the fence with whether or not you will buy the racing sim, then check out our review here. If you have the game, or are even thinking about getting it, then downloading the RaceNet App should definitely be your next point of call.
I feel like I have refilled the tank when it comes to my automobile puns, so as usual; for all the Grid 2 news as it becomes available, stay tuned to Capsule Computers.
They are birds! No, they are Planes! No, they are all Superman! The latest installment to the Scribblenauts franchise, Scribblenauts Unmasked will feature over 1000 characters from the entire DC character library, with many of those characters having alternate versions taken from the furthest reaches of DC’s “elseworlds” stories.
A lot of these alternate-universe characters are pure fan-service, offering no difference in abilities from their regular counterparts, except for comic book “Aficionados” to say “Oh my god! They Included Speeding Bullets Superman.”
That brings me right up to the crux of this article: Oh my god! They included Speeding Bullets Superman! Speeding Bullets was a “what-if?” story where young Kal-El landed in the back of Wayne Manor instead of the Kent Farm in Smallville. The result was that the Waynes never had Bruce, but raised Clark as their own, and he eventually became Batman after their untimely deaths. It is a well-known story within some circles, but for most Scribblenauts players it will just look like Batman who can fly and shoot laser beams from his eyes.
Yep, Pirate Batman is in there too
It is the small details like this that show 5th Cell and Warner Bros are willing to leap tall buildings in order to provide the ultimate experience for their fans. Aside from Speeding Bullets Superman, and the regular ole’ Superman (Actually the New 52 version of Superman), there will be at least 13 other versions of the Man of Steel.
By clicking on the image below tou can check out an infographic that has all 14 versions of the Last Son of Krypton that will be appearing in the game. Scribblenauts Unmasked will be saving lives and throwing Lex Luthor behind bars on September 25th for WiiU, 3DS and PC. Let us know in the comments below your thoughts on what is shaping up to be the definitive DC Universe game, and don’t forget that for all the Superman, DC Comics and Scribblenauts news be sure to stay tuned to Capsule Computers.
Today Sony unveiled the first of its four part Making Of series for the upcoming PS3 exclusive title, BEYOND: Two Souls. The Quantic Dream team, lead actors Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe and writer and director, David Cage, have put together the series to show the audience the origins of the 2000 page project and what it was like to be involved in BEYOND: Two Souls.
Executive producer, Guillaume de Fondaumiere commented that “David Cages’s vision is always one that is innovative and highly challenging”. In terms of the project, Cage stated “It was a really important amount of pages to shoot, we had to shoot about 20 minutes a day”.
Dafoe eloquently summaries the experience of shooting the project;” you walk by the performance capture space and it looks so tiny and so simple and you look at that and you say my god all that stuff happened in that space today, when I say happened it happened in your imagination and it happened in your intention, but it’s a powerful feeling”.
Check out Part 1 of the BEYOND: Two Souls series below and don’t miss out on the game release, available in Australia on October 9.
