Lethal Lance Set to Hit iOS Devices May 1st

Lethal-Lance-Screenshot-01
The name speaks for itself

Game developer LL Team and Bulkypix have banded together to create Lethal Lance, set to launch on May 1st for iOS devices. Reminiscent of old school platformers, a recurring theme nowadays (*cough* Mighty No. 9 *cough*), this game does include one small upgrade to the classic formula: a shotgun. Eviscerate your foes with this powerful weapon and carve yourself a path to the end of each of the 32 levels. With 4 environments altering the terrain, there’s plenty of opportunity to admire the scenery whilst blasting your enemies away. For those more competitive at heart, Lethal Lance will utilise the Game Center and allow players to compete with their friends.

So until May 1st rolls around, you’ll have to make do with the screenshots below. It’s not much, but it should get you excited for some gunslingin’ platformin’ adventures. I wish all side scrollers had shotguns…

New Fatal Frame game announced for Wii U

fatal-frame-screenshot-01

Fatal Frame fans have probably given up hope that they would see another game released in the series, considering the last game in the Fatal Frame series, Mask of the Lunar Eclipse for the Wii, was never released in the West and even a remake of Fatal Frame II for the Wii was only localized for release in Europe but not North America. Well today Famitsu has revealed that Tecmo Koei and Nintendo are working to bring the next Fatal Frame game to the Wii U.

A full title for the game and a release date have not been revealed as of yet, but they have mentioned that Tecmo is looking to expand the series by planning a live action film, an original novel set to be released later this year, and a comic.

A Certain Magical Index light novels and other titles licensed by Yen Press

To-aru-Majutsu-no-Index-LN-12-coverDespite a large number of anime coming from light novels, rarely do Western companies attempt to translate these novels into English and release them in the West. In fact, Yen Press is the only company that regularly releases light novels in print in the form of Spice and Wolf, Haruhi Suzumiya, and others.

Well this weekend Yen Press has announced at Sakura-Con 2014 that they will be expanding their light novel and manga line-up by announcing a number of new pick ups, including one spanning over twenty volumes that fans have been waiting for for quite some time.

Yen Press has acquired the license to A Certain Magical Index’s light novel series that has been given numerous spin-offs and anime adaptations that have already been released in the West. Alongside that acquisition, the company also picked up the Pandora Hearts ~odds and ends~ art book which will be released in November, the Another novel which will be released in hardcover sometime in October, the Love at Fourteen manga which will begin shipping in November, The Angel of Elhamburg manga series, another light novel titled Is It Wrong to Try to Pick up Girls in a Dungeon?, King of Eden, and the author behind Sora no Otoshimono’s other work, Gou-Dere Sora Nagihara manga which will be released starting in November.
