LEGO Dimensions is one of the more interesting video games set for release this year. Combining the beloved toy and video game combination that has been popularised by the likes of Skylanders, Disney Infinity and Amiibo, and expanding it to encompass just about every franchise imaginable, Warner Bros. are surely onto a winner with this one. While the game itself is still a few months away, we have some new footage to show off that features some of the functions of the Toy Pad aside from importing characters into the game. There’s also a new franchise confirmation that I think many of you out there will really enjoy, so check out the trailer below:
So… yeah, that happened, and it was AWESOME! Portal is officially making its way to LEGO Dimensions, with GLaDOS, Wheatley and Chell. Not only that but there is an Apature Scientist Test Facility world to play in. The video also showed off the fact that the Toy Pad can change the size of your current characters, as well as a few more elements that allow you to really interact with the world in a way that has never been seen before.
To go with the trailer, we also have some new screenshots that show off the Toy Pad and level packs in action, so check them out below and let us know your thoughts on kind of a new Portal game being included as part of the LEGO Dimensions experience, and as always make sure you stay tuned to Capsule Computers for all the awesome Lego news as it becomes available.

Stay with Capsule Computers for all your E3 2015 information including recaps on all the major conferences that have happened so far complete with opinions, information and all the latest game trailers.
Activisionhave been very busy at E3 this year. They had a bit of time in multiple conferences, and are ready for the year to move forward with a bunch of heavy hitters. Let’s look back at all of the big news out of E3 for Activision.
Call of Duty: Black Ops III is big news for multiple reasons. The first is of course the fact that Sony has acquired the DLC rights – meaning while map packs will post to all platforms, Microsoft no longer is the first brand to see them. Interesting how console sales effect things, eh?
Here are some nice details and a shiny new trailer for those who want to see the game in action:
The game is set in the year 2065, where bio augmentation and Cybernetic enhancements have given rise to a new breed of Black Ops soldier. Through Direct Neural Interface (DNI) technology, players are now connected to the intelligence grid and their fellow operatives during battle. This elite squad consists of men and women who have enhanced their combat capabilities to fight faster, stronger, and smarter. Black Ops III also offers the deepest, most rewarding multiplayer ever offered in Call of Duty, and, a mind-blowing Call of Duty Zombies experience that, for the first time, features its own XP progression system. Call of Duty: Black Ops III is in development for the PlayStation® 4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One, and PC; a PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Xbox 360 version are also in development.
Keep in mind that Beenox are developing for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, not Treyarch. That said, Beenox do well with the Spider-Man franchise, so I would think they can do just as good with Call of Duty.
Next up is Guitar Hero Live. Much like Rock Band, Guitar Hero is also shining at E3 and poised for its own unique reboot. FreeStyleGames – who created DJ Hero 1 and 2 are working on this beast, which features GH Live, a new feature that gives players a more immersive, first-person experience. There is also a interactive music video network with the game titled GHTV. Let’s look at these details, shall we?
GH Live is a live-action experience that delivers the full emotional roller coaster of being on stage and performing in a real band, in front of real crowds, who dynamically react to how well or poorly you play. As the lead guitarist, you play an array of songs in a variety of venues, ranging from the smallest club stage to the massive main stage of an outdoor festival. GHTV is a 24-hour, always-on mode that lets fans play along to a continually-updated collection of official music videos – across a wide variety of genres – from the newest releases to favourite hits. Fans can pick from multiple channels and themed shows, discovering new songs as they play, and can also choose songs to play on-demand. In GHTV, fans can also play with their friends in the same room or against players from around the world, while completing challenges along the way for sweet rewards. Guitar Hero Live will be available October 20, 2015, and on October 23 in Europe, on the PlayStation®4 system, PlayStation®3 system, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Nintendo’s Wii Uâ„¢ system and select mobile devices to be announced soon. Through a one-of-a-kind partnership, fans can pre-order their copy at select retailers worldwide and get access to bonus content from multi-platinum artist Avenged Sevenfold, which includes premium shows, custom note highways and more.
You got me excited at Wii U and lost me at Avenged Sevenfold. Either way and in all seriousness – it looks great and I truly am happy to see the Wii U receive more love from Activision.
I don’t want to be “that guy” who pumps something up when he has given up on it. Destiny is fun but not my personal cup of tea. That being said, a TON of people still play the game and enjoy it immensely, so this announcement of the largest expansion ever made – Destiny: The Taken King, should be more than enough to put a smile on fans faces.
Featuring a new story campaign and quests, new enemies to fight, new locations to explore, new Strikes and Crucible maps, and an all-new Raid, Destiny: The Taken King will put player’s skills to the ultimate test. To stand up to the challenge, players will have access to three new devastating Guardian subclasses, and a massive arsenal of weapons, armour, and gear. The game will be available for the PlayStation®4 system, PlayStation®3 system, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. At launch PlayStation® gamers will also get access to a host of additional content for The Taken King, including a Strike, a Crucible map, three sets of gear and an exotic weapon, exclusive until Spring 2016.
Another strong statement about the Playstation 4 with that exclusivity.
Finally, who can forget Skylanders Superchargers? This is the next big game in the Skylanders line and is throwing vehicles into the mix. If you saw the Nintendo event, you also noticed that Bowser and Donkey Kong were included. Yes, that is awesome, but there is more for those who want it on other platforms.
Rev your engines! Skylanders®, the #1 kids’ console franchise worldwide¹ is taking to Land, Sea and Air with Skylanders SuperChargers this fall. Skylanders SuperChargers is an unprecedented high-octane, action-adventure videogame where fans can speed across Skylands’ roads in vehicular combat, race down roaring rapids and engage in aerial dogfights as they barrel-roll through enemy swarms. The new game features a brand-new class of heroes, called SuperChargers who are distinct with fresh moves, powerful attacks and all-new weapons. The trailblazing vehicles-to-life innovation of the game is realized when players take helm as Skylanders of powerful, tricked-out land, sea and sky vehicles. Not only are the vehicles playable via the Portal of Power® in the game, but also many feature moving parts, making them fun to play with outside of the game. Portal Masters will also have the ability to customize all vehicles in-game with super cool modifications and upgradeable weapons.
Additionally, Activision and Nintendo announced a landmark creative collaboration today that brings major star power to Skylanders SuperChargers with the introduction of iconic Nintendo characters to the game – Turbo Charge Donkey Kong and Hammer Slam Bowser. Each character will have their own signature vehicles and will be available exclusively in Skylanders SuperChargers Starter Packs for the Nintendo platforms.
TAKE THAT SCALPERS! That is how you handle Amiibo, Nintendo. Watch and learn.
It has been a spectacular E3. The news keeps coming, so stay tuned for more E3 2015 coverage. Good job, Activision!
One of the first few things we saw when Bethesda announced Fallout 4 is that players would quickly be paired up with a currently unnamed dog near the beginning of the game. Then in the following days we continued to see coverage showing the dog helping the player in combat, fetching items, and even enjoying a freshly built dog house. The problem was, as many people know, the signature canine Dogmeat has often wound up dead throughout the series, either through basic combat inFallout 3 or through story events in the original games.
Thankfully it seems that will not be the case this time around as Todd Howard has stated that “Dogmeat cannot die.” This is some good news all around for those who as this likely means that your canine friend won’t be meeting a nefarious end like many of its earlier counterparts. Then again, this may simply be a ruse as there has been no confirmation regarding the name of the canine players will be partnering up with.
Sierra and The Odd Gentlemen revealed the title of the first chapter of the King’s Quest reboot through a brand new trailer. Entitled King’s Quest: A Knight to Remember, the first chapter will begin with an elderly King Graham and his granddaughter Princess Gwedolyn. After she begs for a story, King Graham begins to recount his younger years, starting from the Knight Auditions held in Daventry. Here a young King Graham seeks to become a knight of King Edward’s court, but first must learn the skills of knighthood quickly.
King’s Quest: A Knight to Remember will launch in July for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Windows. It will be the first of a five chapter arc for the King’s Questreboot.
WWE 2K16 was already sort of announced I think, or inevitable. One of the two. Remember the mobile game? That was an interesting thing. Today, 2K Games have announced the first six official roster members for the game and thank god Paige is not DLC! The six WWE Superstars to make the cut first are Daniel Bryan, Bad News Barrett, NXT Superstar Finn Balor, Dean Ambrose, and Seth Rollins.
There was a bit of artwork with these announcements, but if you look above you can get the gist of it as it is just a photo with a logo stamped – so not quite models done by Yukes yet. Still a nice way to start the WWE 2K16 news though, so stay tuned as we should be hearing more in the coming “weeks”. More E3 2015 coverage is still to come. Stay tuned.
Welcome to Capsule Computers live (or semi-live) recap of events with the 2015 E3 showing for Nintendo. Below are the announcements as they occur, laced in some opinion as needed of course, so let’s get to it!
I am pumped. We start off with a puppet knocking on Iwata’s door, with puppet Iwata being revealed. Then comes Reggie – and shortly after, Miyamoto. I will say it – this bit was charming. Shortly after, the puppets turn into Star Fox characters. Get it, because Fox, Falco, and Peppy were puppets? Ha. This is of course to debut that long awaited Star Fox title, which is none other than Star Fox Zero.
After a nice, long trailer, we get about five minutes of Miyamoto talking about the history of Star Fox and how the ideas from the franchise as a whole were utilized within each game. I am loving this, even if it kills a bit of my own hype’s pacing for the event – as it sounds like this was a product of love from Ninty all the way. Great way to kick off the show.
Moving on, Reggie greets us with his usual spiel and starts speaking about the theme of this year is “transformation”. The Nintendo NX will be revealed in 2016, but right now I just want to see games. I had no clue it was the 30th year anniversary for Mario. That is awesome I suppose, and of course Mario Maker gets a light mention. Within just a few minutes, we learn that Donkey Kong and Bowser will be getting their own figures in Skylanders Superchargers – which is awesome. It seems that these unique figures can turn into Amiibos for Nintendo titles as well, meaning they work with both games. Being honest, I am not that excited. I mean, the scalpers will enjoy these I am sure – but without stock for current waves – I just can’t feel happy about this.
Up next we have a new Zelda title titled The Legend of Zelda: Triforce Heroes for the Nintendo 3DS. It reminds me of Four Swords, but with costumes and one less hero. Players can also choose other heroes than Link as well, so I suppose that is nice. Directly after, we have the expected yet still welcome announcement of Hyrule Warriors Legends for the 3DS. Looks about like the Wii U version, but with a bit of love towards Wind Waker. Spring 2016 on that.
Metroid! I see Metroid. Yes, Metroid Prime: Federation Force is out next, and is a multiplayer Metroid title set in the world but without Samus. It also includes Metroid Prime: Blast Ball, which looks awesome. Coming 2016.
Before I move on from this – I am seeing the outpour of reaction from Metroid “fans” on Twitter. Get over yourselves. This is a spin-off and looks fun. You are lucky this exists so stop the bullshit. Zelda and Metroid fans are a jaded bunch. The Zelda fans are unhappy because they didn’t get to see the Zelda they wanted even though we had two other Zelda titles shown, and the Metroid fans are mad because they didn’t put in the main character who was BASHED by THEM when they gave her a voice in her last installment.
You lost your rights of entitlement, so enjoy what you are given.
Moving on, a trailer for Fire Emblem Fates plays and it is pretty standard Fire Emblem – no complaints. Directly after we have Shin Megami Tensai X Fire Emblem and it is poppy and looks great. I think it will be a nice little Wii U title and should offer a great deal when it hits in 2016. I think, anyway (not much gameplay was shown).
Guess what is also coming out? Xenoblade Chronicles X! Yeah, I have waited for a date on this beast for a while and it still looks fantastic. December 4th is close and I am ready.
I had to just catch myself. It is Animal Crossing! Wait, sort of Animal Crossing. It is that home building game, and I am ok with that. Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer is due September 15th. I love Animal Crossing, and Mario Party in Animal Crossing form looks great. This is an Amiibo title though, so again, it will come down to if there are even Amiibos available before I invest in this. There needs to be a bundle with all of the characters or I just cannot bite. Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival is fine for the Wii U, as I get it, you need money to make money and a reskin of Mario Party may fund the next great AC title. I am just done with the gimmickry and pre-order politics behind the Amiibo brand.
Next up we have details on Yoshi’s Woolly World. It looks the same, but now with more emphasis on skins and Amiibo. Co-op included, coming to America in October. Moving on.
Level 5 show off Yo-kai Watch which looks like Pokemon but with a watch? It looks solid, but I need to see a bit more. It will be published by Nintendo, so I am sure more Directs will come to throw in some details.
My oh my, its Paper Mario! And…Mario and Luigi. Well, this looks interesting. Mario and Luigi: Paper Jam is making its way to the 3DS next year and it looks ok. I didn’t say great, as it looks to have a lot of what I disliked about Sticker Star. I get the world is PAPER. I get things are made of PAPER. The charm of Paper Mario is that the world didn’t act any different despite the fact that it was made of paper, and concentrated on being a good RPG, rather than a decent platformer/adventure title. Sure, we saw some RPG battling, but it looked to be a secondary battling concept rather than the core experience. This is followed by Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash which is Mario Tennis for the Wii U with abilities – essentially. I do love some Mario Tennis though.
Finally, we have Super Mario Maker. This is a long presentation and I am loving it. Amiibos do work, but they can turn Mario into that character. I don’t think fans realize how big Mario Maker is, as you can make a game from start to finish. It looks like it is level by level, but I am still massively pumped as Miyamoto seems so excited.
We end at a montage of people playing along with Mario music and dressing as Mario. The clip is neat, but man does this feel like I am watching Arthur “AND NOW A WORD FROM US KIDS!”. Maybe that is just me….
There were no big announcements, but the event was chipper, some great looking games were shown, and a lot of passionate people talking about games. I am sure next year will be insane with announcements, so the little bit this year will do just fine. Remember kids, Nintendo does surprise Nintendo Directs all year, so E3 isn’t the only big time for them.
Best of Show: Super Mario Maker looks wonderful, Star Fox Zero, Metroid Prime: Federation Force (eat it, haters)
Worst of Show: Amiibo anything with no promise of better stock, Mario and Luigi has me a bit worried, and I guess it was anti-climatic?
Thanks for joining us and stay tuned for even more E3 2015 coverage!
