Today NIS America announced when fans of their anime releases can expect to see the comedy series Daily Lives of High School Boys (Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou) available for purchase. On August 6 the complete series will be released in a premium edition package that contains two Blu-rays, a hardcover 30 page art book and their collectible chipboard slipcase.
For those who don’t know, the series follows three teenagers as they go through the trials of living a high school life with each episode providing a number of laughs as this trio go experience a number of unique situations that will likely leave viewers in stitches.
You likely already know by now that the Accel World anime has been licensed by Viz Media in North America, but it seems that they didn’t have the “master license” which means that they were limited to only a few options with the series outside of streaming. However with today’s announcement Viz now has complete control of the property in North America.
At the time of announcement Viz did not go into detail as to what their exact plans were for the anime series at the moment but now that they own the “master license” they can not only release the series on Blu-ray and DVD but even have it broadcast on television if they so wish.
Today Sentai Filmworks has announced who will be providing the English voice work for the main characters of Dusk Maiden of Amnesia (Tasogare Otome×Amnesia) which is currently set to be released on both Blu-ray and DVD on June 4th. Interestingly enough both versions of the release will also include a two disc soundtrack set containing music from the series.
The four main characters they have detailed are as follows:
Clint Bickham as Teiichi Niiya
Emily Neves as Yuuko Kanoe
Brittney Karbowski as Momoe Okonogi
Jessica Boone as Kirie Kanoe
The studio did not go into detail about who will be providing additional voicework for the series but did provide the below story synopsis:
60 years ago, a young woman was left to die in the abandoned school building behind the exclusive Seikyou Academy. Perhaps it’s not so surprising then, that among Seikyou’s many school clubs is one for students interested in “paranormal investigations.” Unable to remember how she died and trapped in the grey land between life and death, the ghost girl Y?ko latches onto Teiichi Niiya, a freshman who can inexplicably see her, and together they and the other unsuspecting members of the club begin to unravel the many dark mysteries that surround Seikyou. In a tomb of silent classrooms, the answers await in Dusk maiden of Amnesia.
It seems that despite what many of us may think, Media Blasters hasn’t been shut down yet. In fact today the company announced some surprising news; they were able to actually purchase a new anime license! The anime they have acquired aired back in 2011 and it happens to be the anime adaptation of the popular female Blackjack character from Super Black Jack, Rio.
Rio – Rainbow Gate! followed the story of the titular Rio who works at a casino and is trying to become the best around by collecting the 13 legendary cards known as “Gates.” No release plans or dubbing details were revealed at the time of announcement, but it is certainly good to see Media Blasters trying to get back on their feet.

The last time Infinite Crisis offered up video profiles the focus was on two male Champions, so this week it seems that Turbine and Warner Bros. wanted to give the spotlight to a pair of fan favorite feminine Champions, namely Gaslight Catwoman and Poison Ivy. Players wanting to get a jump on understanding the fundamentals of these two can watch the videos below to see what they’ll be bringing to the game.
Gaslight Catwoman hails from the same universe as Gaslight Batman, a steampunk Victorian Era, but instead of a background in burglary this Selina Kyle was trained by the League of Assassins. Unlike her co-universe-compatriot Batman’s focus on Sonic Pistols, Catwoman utilizes melee with steam-powered claws to give her some extra power. Built more for stealth and low health targets, Gaslight Catwoman excels at tracking down those enemies fleeing combat and taking them down for the count.
Poison Ivy is from the Prime DC Universe gaining her flora based powers from a biology experiment gone wrong, infusing her with plant DNA and twisting her to side with plants above all else. Using her plant powers Poison Ivy can be a terror on the battlefield, able to strike from a distance and provide areas that heal allies and hurt enemies. Even worse for those going against her, the thick plant life will also slow them down, making them easy prey.
Players interested in getting a chance to see how these and the other characters play for themselves can sign up to join the closed beta set to start May 8th by checking out the website HERE.
