Trailer Teases the Rebranded Alien Rage

alien-rage-01

For those that had been looking forward to the game Alien Fear, there is some good and bad news. The bad news being that the game will not be releasing under that name, while the good news is that the game will be coming out later this year until the new name Alien Rage. Coming from CI Game (City Interactive), the arcade FPS has just released a teaser trailer to show just a bit of the game.

The trailer is indeed quite a tease, showing off plenty of big aliens that look angry enough, but the action in the trailer is a bit limited, though the action it does offer includes a nice looking minigun. Players interested in checking out the trailer for themselves can view it embedded below, but if that isn’t enough it has also been announced that Alien Rage will be showed off at E3 2013.

Alien Rage is currently expected to release later this year, but no definite release date as of yet, though it is known it will be coming to PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.

Needless Manga to end next chapter

needless-manga-ending

It has been a very long time since Kami Imai’s Needless manga started in the monthly magazine Ultra Jump. So long in fact it has been running for almost a decade since it began back in 2004. Now however it is all coming to an end.

Today it was discovered that the July issue of Ultra Jump magazine will contain the final chapter of the Needless manga series. Those familiar with the series have likely seen this coming for quite some time since a number of events have all been pointing towards the manga ending within the next few chapters.

As for the series itself, it was adapted into a twenty-four episode anime series back in 2010 but suffered from an anime original ending which prevented further adaptations of the source material.

Final Fantasy VIII announced for PC; high resolution graphics included

FFIII-pc-reveal- (1)

Today it was revealed by Famitsu that Square Enix is planning on bringing Final Fantasy VIII to the PC once again. Some of you may remember that FFVIII was released on the PC over ten years ago, but thankfully it won’t be the exact same game. Instead Famitsu reports that this PC version of FFVIII will have high resolution graphics added to it.

It is worth noting that Famitsu also mentioned that some additional features or graphical upgrades could be added to the game but it is currently unknown whether or not Square Enix will do that before releasing it. Also no release window was given for the game in Japan and there currently has been no mention of a Western release.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance announced for PC

Today it was revealed by Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima that Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will be released on PC sometime in the future. This is surprising news considering Platinum Games isn’t known for making PC ports of their games, but it is certainly great news.

No details were given for when the game will be released, how much it will cost, or whether or not the DLC released so far for the console versions will be available for the PC port but it’ll be interesting to see how the Blade Mode will work with the mouse controlling your slicing and dicing.

New Super Luigi U also will be released as a standalone title

new-super-luigi-u-box-artYou may recall that “New Super Luigi U” was going to simply be some DLC for New Super Mario Bros. U, but it seems that it will now also be released as a standalone game. During their Nintendo Direct presentation the company announced that the game can still be downloaded as a cheaper add on, but it can also be purchased by those who never bought the original game thanks to this standalone release.

It is interesting to note that since Mario does not appear in the game at all, multiplayer players will have the choice of selecting Luigi, Nabbit, Blue Toad and Yellow Toad to choose from. Nabbit doesn’t power up from items but he also doesn’t take damage from enemies, making him quite a unique character.

As for the game itself, it offers 82 updated courses and will be sold for $19.99 as DLC on June 20th while the standalone version will be released on August 25th in North America and July 25th in Europe for $29.99.

Sonic Lost World announced for Wii U and 3DS

Sonic-Lost-World-reveal

Today during their Nintendo Direct presentation, Nintendo president and CEO Satoru Iwata announced that the company would be entering into a partnership with Sega and Sonic. To be a bit more specific he said the following:

“Today, I would like to announce that we have entered into an worldwide partnership with Sega on the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. The next game in the series, Sonic Lost World, is a brand new action-adventure platforming game that will launch exclusively on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.”

As you can see, Sonic Lost World will be exclusive to Nintendo consoles and we have already seen that they have announced Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games for the Wii U and apparently there is a third Sonic game waiting to be announced at a later date, so it looks like fans of Sonic may need to become fans of Nintendo consoles for future titles.
