Mushibugyo 3DS Game – First Video Promo Released

Mugai Fights The King Beetle - Mushibugyo Anime
Mugai Fights The King Beetle – Mushibugyo Anime

It seems like all my prayers are being answered lately when it comes to Anime, Manga and all things related because not only has there been such incredible releases of Anime/Manga recently but there’s also been a swell of new Anime/Manga-based games that are being made and released. The Anime run of Mushibugyo is soon coming to a close but a few weeks ago it was announced by Namco Bandai that an action, adventure 3DS game based on the series is set for a release on the 19th of September, it almost came out of nowhere but I think we’re lucky it came at all. Namco have now just released a 2-minute promo for the game that shows off, pretty much, everything you can do in the game. You’re able to use more than just the main character, Jinbei, and the game’s story will coincide with the Anime’s story and it seems, judging from the video, that it’s just about spot on.

There’s a story mode, sub-story mode, suggestion box mode and a whole bunch of other different modes that I’m sure we’ll be catching a glimpse of in the near future. The game will be released in both physical and downloadable versions and they’ll both be available for 5,980 yen which roughly makes up about US$63, so a standard game. The first batch of game copies will also come with a set of “bug-repelling stickers” which show symbols from the series. If you’re not too sure about the story of Mushibugyo it is actually fairly simple: It’s an extremely Shonen which takes place in a, somewhat, twisted Edo Japan, I say “somewhat twisted” because THIS Edo is filled with aggressive, giant insects. Jinbei, our main character, heads to Edo, in replacement for his Father, to join a squad of Samurai that excel in killing these giant bugs and protecting the Capitol from being destroyed. Legendary adventure series Broken Sword rose again after six years of silence thanks to a Kickstarter campaign back in early 2012. Now, PS Vita owners will join iOS, Android, and PC gamers in enjoying Broken Sword: The Serpent’s Curse. Nico and George are returning for another epic adventure across Europe after a murder in an art gallery leads the pair in a conspiracy over 5000 years old.

“For fifteen years the escapades of George and Nico have challenged and delighted millions of fans. Celebrated for its thoughtful mysteries, ingenious puzzles, lovable characters and witty dialogue, the series continues to appeal to a wide contemporary audience yearning for compelling story-driven games,” says Noirin Carmody, Founder and COO of Revolution. “We are excited to bring the latest adventure to Gamescom in Cologne and show it to media all over Europe for the first time.”

Broken Sword: The Serpent’s Curse will be released for iOS, Android, Linux, Mac, Windows, and PS Vita near the end of 2013.

Take Football Manager 2014 On The Go With PS Vita

Football-Manager-2014-Classic-1

Football Manager on the PC has always been a fantastic game, but whenever I have played versions on handheld consoles I have always felt held back  by how much the game was dumbed down. Players were missing with fake footballers in their place, stats grew too quickly, and tactical knowledge became an after-thought since every formation would win you the game. That is why the announcement that came out of Sports Interactive and SEGA Europe Ltd today was so exciting .

Football Manager is spawning a new game called Football Manager Classic 2014 for the PS Vita that will allow you to take your FM 2014 PC save file on the go for the first time using innovative, new cross compatibility features. This means that players can shut down their classic mode game on the PC and still be able to play that very same game whether they are at home or out and about.

Combine this awesome new dimension to the game with the 3D match engine that is going to add a whole  new dimension to the Football Manager franchise and FM 2014 is certainly looking like the sporting simulation game to buy this year.

Dungeon Keeper Reboot Coming for Mobile Devices

dungeon-keeper-mobile

Many players have fond memories of the Dungeon Keeper series. The series gave players a chance to play the evil dungeon lord instead of the noble hero slashing their way through hordes of minions. The original game was designed by Peter Molyneaux.

EA is reviving the series for mobile platforms. The game fuses the old game’s strategic gameplay with modern tower defense. Players will build their dungeons, recruit minions, and fend off waves of pillaging heroes seeking to liberate the player’s treasures. Those finding their evil desires in need of being sated can invade their friend’s dungeons to spread the pain.

Dungeon Keeper will be released for iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, and Android this winter.

Batman Has Nowhere to Run in Arkham Origins Trailer

A new trailer for Batman: Arkham Origins has been released for GamesCom by Warner Bros. and gives a nice solid look at many of the fights that Batman will be getting into during the course of the game. The trailer also introduces off another of the eight assassins that Batman will be contending with on probably one of the worst nights of his life.

The “Nowhere to Run” trailer shows off the previously announced killers such as Deathstroke, Bane, Joker, and Copperhead, plus a glimpse at the villain known as Firefly, who utilizes a jetpack to rain fire from the sky. The assassins aren’t the only ones giving Batman trouble in the trailer either as police make their appearance as well.

Those wanting to see all the action for themselves can find the trailer embedded below. Batman: Arkham Origins is set to release October 25th, 2013 worldwide for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U, and PC. Don’t forget that those pre-ordering the game will also be able to play as Deathstroke.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Gives New Plot-tastic Trailer

Developer TT Games and publisher Warner Bros. brought a special offering of LEGO Marvel Super Heroes to GamesCom this year in the form of a trailer that actually covers both plot and its expansive library of characters. It seems that Dr. Doom is the main cause of trouble as Cosmic Bricks have been scattered all over the world.

While that might may seem like a big issue for Marvel super heroes, after all Fantastic Four trounce him a decent amount, he has also hired every other villain to help him out. Which explains every hero and villain going head to head crating a roster of 100 playable characters, as Dr. Doom looks to build the Dr. Doom Doomray of Doom with all those Cosmic Bricks.

Those wanting to check out the trailer for themselves and catch all the glimpses of characters to be had throughout can find it embedded below. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is set to release in autumn (spring in Australia) of this year for handhelds Nintendo DS,  Nintendo 3DS, andPS Vita; consoles Xbox 360PS3Wii UXbox One, and PS4; and PC.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII Gets Two Trailers

It looks like Square Enix came prepared for GamesCom this year as they released not one, but two trailers for Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. While one is only an extended look at the previously revealed addition of the Final Fantasy VII Cloud Strife gear, the other is a full blow trailer titled “The Savior’s Choice” specifically for GamesCom. First the Cloud Strife Gear:

Some nice shots of how the sword and armor look up close as well as in action, but obviously the real interest is the other trailer. Giving more information in terms of plot for what Lightning is doing as what all is at stake as the end of the world draws near, but don’t worry about it being too heavy as the trailer does a nice jump of ending on a softer note.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII will release on February 11th, 2014 in North America and February 14th, 2014 in Europe for Xbox 360 and PS3.
