Kinect Priced for Australia

So we’ve already seen the price range that the Kinect will cost in America. Now Master Abbott can play the Kinect as well finally! However it will be at an elevated price tag. Because the Kinect package itself which does include the Kinect Adventures game, will run at $199.00 Australian.

There is also a bundle being released for Australian released which will include the brand new Slim Xbox 360, a 4GB internal memory, the Kinect Adventures game, and the Kinect itself will run the price tag of $449.00 Australian. The fact that there is still some type of internal memory is a nice tough for this cheaper version, however anyone who owns a 360 knows that 4GB is barely enough to contain your own saved data after a certain period of time.

Destination: Arcade – Avatar Awards

Destination: Arcade came out today, along with the first game from the Summer of Arcade Promotion.

Destination: Arcade is actually a nice little feature that gives you all kinds of functions to organize, sort, and look at all the available arcade games on the Xbox Live Marketplace.

Destination: Arcade actually includes 3 avatar Awards. One pet dragon and then a male and female Hoodie.

Avatar Awards:

  • Dragon Pet – Look at any game that features a dragon while using Destination: Arcade. (Example: Magic the Gathering)
  • XBLA hoodie – Start up Destination: Arcade. ( The hoodie says “Xbox Live Arcade”)

Destination Arcade is only Available during the Summer of Arcade promotion on the Xbox 360.

You can check out the avatar awards in the video below. There is also a little info at the end of the video if you don’t live in the US.

Deadliest Warrior – Avatar Awards

I usually try to include the Avatar Award videos with the game that I am reviewing, but in the case of Deadliest Warrior the last avatar award glitched out on me.

I beat the game with every character on the deadliest setting and even unlocked the achievement for the Knight, Ninja, and Viking. I then wrote the review without an award video. After I wrote the review I proceeded to beat the game with every character for a second time on deadliest setting.

This second attempt didn’t work at all. I deleted the game and save file and replayed the entire thing again. Third time is the charm, and I finally unlocked the helmet.

Well, that is my story on how I finally got the helmet avatar award. Check out the awards in the video below.

The Review for Deadliest Warrior can be found here.

The video has been added to the Review as well.

Marvel Vs Capcom 3 videos

From the Capcom camp, Trish (Devil May Cry) making her Capcom fighting game debut alongside foundation member Chun Li (Street Fighter).
The Marvel offering takes the form of formidable Dr Doom and another first-timer to Capcom fighting games, Super Skrull.

Everyone loves videos, and if you you can’t wait for Marvel Vs Capcom 3 than these videos are perfect for you! The videos show off tons of stuff in the game that you will enjoy thoroughly.

I could keep talking here, but I think you should just go watch all 3 videos. It may take a while, but it is totally worth it for Marvel Vs Capcom fans.

True cheats will hang in Red Dead Redemption Update

Rockstar has released more information about a new title update they will be releasing for the Xbox 360 and the PS3. This update will be designed specifically to make online play funner for the average player by targeting those who hack the game, and end up being overly aggressive when the situation does not call for it.

Those who are caught cheating will be receiving a ban directly from Rockstar for an amount of time that they themselves will end up determining. Plus they are implementing a new feature which will put together grief relief. This means that if you were to be murdered constantly throughout your free roam session with little reason, you have the chance to spawn anywhere you want to on the map, instead of fifteen feet from the person who killed you last time.

Additionally those who kill six players in a free roam, will be placed with the Most Wanted title and this will not only point other players directly towards their position on the map, but will also bring down the local NPC law enforcement to bring their reign of terror to an end. By all means the players will not be banned for their player killing ways, but this is a way to prevent various players from venturing online because they are tired of being bullied and shot whenever they take five steps. Or being shot while attempting to do a gang hideout with a group of people.

Dive: The Medes Islands Secret Makes a Splash on the Wii July 26th..

More and more developers are taking the plunge to get players to explore the mysteries of the deep. Cosmonaut Games is now bringing out their latest title, “Dive: The Medes Islands Secret” to release soon on the WiiWare download service. This title takes players underwater across 10 different real world locations recreated for the new action/platformer. Players will face many enemies, discover hidden labyrinths, and find many treasures in the deep. You can also upgrade your equipment over time so you may dive even further into the unknown.

“It was in the Great Medes Monastery, in 1412, where Martin I “The Human”, leader of an Order of the Temple and long-time resident of the island, was buried. The secrets of the Order were also buried with him, where they would be sealed in the same crypt and kept through the centuries. But two hundred years later, an earthquake split the island in two and the crypt disappeared into the depths of the Mediterranean Sea.”

As John Sanders, you must now set out to the Medes Islands located in the heart of Spain to uncover all of the secrets of this mysterious place.

Features Include:

  • Spectacular graphics. The marine flora and fauna have been recreated in detail, making the most of the Wii™’s graphics and storage capacities of the WiiWare™ service.
  • 3 Levels of difficulty. Three different levels of difficulty have been prepared, suited to the requirements of the players.
  • 10 Levels: Accompanied by 10 different real locations. During his adventure, John Sanders will travel to the Medes Islands, Cap de Creus, Cayman Islands, Tortuga Island, Bermuda or Santorini.
  • Size of the Levels: The levels are very large and filled with mazes and enemies that will make it difficult to achieve the objectives.
  • Treasures: There is a wide variety, from sunken ships to ancient underwater civilizations.
  • Reusability: With different objectives at each level, players can return to any one of them to complete them, lengthening the total playing time.
  • Shop: Economy system and ability to manage diving equipment. Without the necessary upgrades, players will not be able to reach certain areas of the game. Players can upgrade their Wetsuit, Diving Cylinders, Fins, Speargun and Diving Torch.
  • Achievements: Where the treasures and discoveries achieved by the player during the adventure can be viewed.
  • Expedition Diary: Where John Sanders will reveal the different plots in the game’s story.
  • Enemies of all types, from giant Octopuses to Sharks, as well as Barracudas, Jellyfish or Manta Rays.
  • Use of the most relevant features of the Wii Remote™
  • Orchestral soundtrack that accompanies the entire game and was composed by El Topo Negro.

Medal of Honor Beta finally hits the 360

Many people have been unable to hit up the Beta for Medal of Honor’s multiplayer on the 360 due to the delay in release it has had. However the following tweet from their twitter account has unveiled that they have now fixed whatever problem may have arisen and things are going just fine:

Xbox 360 fans rejoice — the Medal of Honor beta is now available on Xbox Live! Step up to Tier 1! http://bit.ly/cF7kgm

Also the Beta for the PS3 and PC has been extended until July 31st, so expect to see the 360 Beta to be up even longer than these two because personally I would find it unfair otherwise. I have a feeling however it will not last very long due to the fact that it will be arriving on shelves on October 12th in the United States and October 15th everywhere else.

Demon Soul’s Servers to Remain up until March

It seems more and more games are losing online support within the first year of release these days. Fans of Demon Souls won’t have to worry, well, at least until March. Atlus Games released a statement today promising they will continue online support for the 2009 release.

“We are proud to maintain our commitment to the Demon’s Souls online community by extending our support for the game’s servers, allowing current and new players to continue to enjoy the game’s vast online feature set,” stated Aram Jabbari, Manager of PR and Sales for Atlus. “One of the highest-rated, most talked about games of all time, Demon’s Souls is defined by its groundbreaking online functionality. No other game better marries suspenseful, claustrophobic solitude with unprecedented cooperative and competitive multiplayer connectivity. Each game world, each individual’s adventure, can be bridged with those of others’, making for one of the most startlingly grand yet deeply intimate RPG experiences ever created.”

To celebrate the news, the server’s World Tendency, a variable that can make the game more or less difficult and unlock secrets depending on its setting, will be shifted to Pure White for a couple weeks, making the notoriously challenging game slightly easier for newcomers while also allowing long-time veterans to reach otherwise inaccessible areas and items.

This bit of news is sure to keep the hardcore Demon Souls fans happy for now. The only bittersweet news is that server support may end in March of 2011 and this is just more of an announcement of the end rather than the start of an extension. Either way, players should enjoy the time they have for now and breathe easy for a while knowing that they will be ensured online for at least eight more months.

Chop Chop Soccer – iPhone/iPod/iPad Preview

Gamerizon is no new player to the iPhone/iPad scene. Some of you may already have Chop Chop Tennis, Chop Chop Runner or Chop Chop Ninja. Gamerizon hit the jackpot with these three games, all of them reaching the 1 million downloads mark in over 40 countries. Chop Chop Tennis is currently in the top 5 of the most downloaded apps all over the world.

Reaching the 1 million level is in itself no small feat,” states Alex Sakiz, CEO of Gamerizon. “But when you can do it three times in a row with your first three games, it’s clear you’ve got something very special going on.” So why not develop yet another game bearing the series title of “Chop Chop” ?

Chop Chop Soccer, a 3D arcade sports game with colourful cartoon graphics, is the fourth installment in the successful franchise, promising the same charming, addictive and yet simplistic gameplay we’ve all been acquainted to. It’s simplicity, however, hides a full set of “under the hood characteristics, in terms of gameplay, features and the way you evolve and organize your Chop Chop Soccer team.

All Chop Chop Games featured simplistic, yet elegant, controls, with no HUD, virtual pads or buttons blocking your screen. Chop Chop Soccer seems to adopt the same type of gameplay controls, specifically developed for the Apple Devices’ touch screen: just by using your finger.

In order to move, just slide your finger on the screen. To pass, shoot or tackle, a flick of your finger in the desired direction you want your player or ball to go is enough. Sounds simple enough for a soccer game? Sometimes you want to play some football without having to learn which button sprints, which one lobs, shoots or passess.

The developers promise frantic 3 vs 3 soccer action, four difficulty levels to get better and better and four tournaments to test your skills. Variety seems to be right at home in this little game, because you will have 12 teams to choose from (including World Cup Champions, Spain and Runner Up Netherlands), four stadiums (such as Egypt Pyramids and Paris Trocadero) and 5 tutorials in order to learn the ropes and get you started.

Every team is rated as per their respective strenghts, in 3 areas: offense, defense and Goalie. These ratings, obviosly, affect the AI’s behavior. Each rating is actually derived from a comprehensive set of criteria that differ from team to team, thus, no two teams will behave the same way even though their ratings may be similar. Examples of such criteria are:

    • Attack Style – short passing, long ball, balanced
    • Defense (effectivness against dribbles, short passes, long balls)
    • Goaltending (running, catching, kicking abilities)
    • Defensive Styles (zone, man to man, balanced)
    • Passing (speed, precision)
    • Kicking (speed, precision)
    • Tackling (speed, precision,recovery)

    et cetera…

Like the previous titles, Chop Chop Soccer shows a lot of promise, and if Gamerizon delivers everything they’ve promised AND keep the addictive gameplay that made Chop Chop games so good, we’re in for a treat. I’ll leave you with a word from Gamerizon themselves, regarding the evolution of the current title:

“Chop Chop Soccer will constantly evolve: more countries, more modes and many many more surprises will be added with future updates.”

Chop Chop Soccer will be available in a few weeks on the AppStore.

    Screenshots & trailer below:

“Reaching the 1 million level is in itself no small feat,” states Alex Sakiz, CEO of Gamerizon. “But when you can do it three times in a row with your first three games, it’s clear you’ve got something very special going on.”
