Breaking Bad Season 4 Trailer ‘Walter is Danger’

Breaking Baddict’s world wide have been anticipating the upcoming season of AMC’s Breaking Bad for over a year now, waiting with bated breath. The series has been hailed as the greatest television series of all time and has won enough awards to nullify the need to break bad.

Many fans have been speculating as to where the show will go next after the shocking cliffhanger finale of Season 3. Well we have finally received an answer. Walter isn’t in danger, he is the danger.

If you have yet to take to the Breaking Baddiction, I’ll put it simply for you – get addicted. A good place to start would be the nothing short of epic trailer below.

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier beta begins January 2012

Ubisoft announced via Twitter (yay… twitter) that they will be launching a beta for their upcoming game Ghost Recon: Future Soldier and that it will begin some point in January 2012. The beta will be for the multiplayer portion of the game only and there was no word as to whether or not this will mean that the Kinect support shown off at E3 will be available in the beta.

One thing you should remember however, if you purchased Splinter Cell: Conviction way back when you still can participate in the beta, and it will require that game’s disc to access it. Hopefully we can expect more details about the beta in the months to come, and hopefully no more delays for the actual game itself.

Onechanbara 2 listed for 360 release in 2012 by Play.com

A few years ago a strange game was released for the Xbox 360 by D3 Publisher, the game involved zombies, swords, and women in bikini’s who killed them. Titled Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad it was released in 2009 and most likely slipped under the radar for most people, but it was definitely one of the oddest yet funnest experiences you can have involving zombies and swords.

Now fast forward to today and the UK retailer Play.com has placed up a listing for Onechanbara 2 with February 2012 as a release date on the Xbox 360. So far D3 Publisher has had no comment about the continuation of the Onechanbara series in the West, though we have reached out to the company for any possible insight about this listing.

Update:
Michael Cerven from D3 Publisher responded to Destructoid involving the posting. He had the following to say about the listing.

“Regarding the news in Europe, unfortunately there is not much to say. We have an amazing fan base that are huge fans of the Onechanbara games and we would love to do another game but at this time there isn’t any new announced Onechanbara game in the works.”

Call of Duty: Black Ops Limited Edition with DLC listed by GameStop

If you have waited this long to buy Call of Duty: Black Ops then I tip my hat to you for holding yourself back against all of the hype. But perhaps now will be one of the best times to head out and buy Black Ops. This is because a listing was recently found on GameStop.com that there will be a new version of Black Ops released next week, and that it will come with bundled DLC.

The listing specifically says “Call of Duty: Black Ops Limited Edition with DLC” and that it will be coming out on June 28th for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 for $60. The pages do not say what DLC will be included, if not both, and Activision has yet to release any bundle of this sort so we have contacted them to see if they can help shed some light on the validity of this bundle.

Team Fortress 2 ‘Uber Update’ being prepared

If your favorite Team Fortress 2 has been a bit bland lately then you should definitely be glad to see this news. Valve is currently working on what they are calling “the biggest, most ambitious update in the history of Team Fortress 2” and they are calling it the Über Update.

The whole update will go live on Thursday of this week and will feature a number of new things. Today they revealed the Day One changes that will be updated, better known as Mobster Monday which will provide more gear for both the Heavy and Spy class as well as a new Payload map named Barn Blitz. The Medic will also be getting his own ‘Meet the’ video. To find out what gear is being released and also more information on the Barn Blitz map check out Team Fortress 2’s website here.

Supanova 2011 – 3DS photo gallery!

Hey everyone!

As a treat from us at Capsule Computers, for this years Supanova we have decided to share with you a gallery of 3DS images from this years event! You will find uploaded in the link below a gallery (of ~15mb) of all the photos that we managed to take of the event.  There are ~50-70 3D images to enjoy.

LINK!

To see the images on your 3DS unit, you must first extract the .zip file onto your computer. This will create a folder called 999SUPA04 to the location that you have specified (if you’re using the default windows unzipping tool, you can just copy and paste the folder out of the .zip). From there you will need to take out the 3DS memory card from the side panel of the unit and insert it into a card reader of some-type (I use my digital camera) and then insert that into your PC. After it’s inserted, navigate into the newly added drive and locate the DCIM folder and enter it. Okay, now you will need to go back to your 999SUPA04 folder and copy that folder (not just its contents, but the folder with the contents still in it) into the DCIM directory on your flash card. After that’s complete, eject the card and insert it into your 3DS, go to the 3DS camera app and choose the view gallery option thing (may not be its name) and give it 15 seconds or so copy the files into the library or whatever it says.

Enjoy!

Only it’s in 3D on the 3DS!

Supanova 2011 – LinkageAX’s Weekend Day 1

Supanova, Australia’s largest Popular Culture convention, was astoundingly popular this year with its myriad of celebrity guests, contests and merchandise. The event itself garnered a massive attendance rate from the general public, largely for Tom Felton, but also for everyone else and everything else going on in the event. Below is my experience of the event.

Day 1 –

I arrive at the convention with a few mates at around 9:00AM and hang around with them for a few minutes before running off to take some 3D photos with my 3DS of the huge lines that the event had already gathered even though it still had an hour before it was to start. The lines were huge, and they were still that way for most of the day, this is certainly the most popular convention I’ve been to.

At around 9:30AM, I asked a staff member where us Media units were supposed to head and they helpfully pointed me inside to the registration booth. After receiving my Media Pass, I was required to wait about 15mins before I could head in. Luckily I was able to hang around other members of the media, which included a photography website and a local school paper. Shortly after I was allowed into the convention, I ran into Kelly Teng who was also attending the convention as Media on behalf of Capsule Computers. We hung around throughout the day and checked out different parts of the convention to make sure we didn’t miss out on much.

In the main hall of the event, there was a Doctor Who booth set up (YAY!) playing through classic episodes of the series, a Sci-Fi (SyFy?) channel booth featuring The lost Girl; a new television program about a girl who sucks lifeforce out of men or some-such (we got a free comic from the gorgeous ladies there, strangely enough the lady recognised me and would load me up on free lollies every time I went past), a wrestling ring; as provided by AWF (I believe) which provided a tonne of wrestling entertainment throughout the day (oddly, whenever me and Kelly met up, it was at that ring, though, the Sci-Fi booth was just across from it too), and a heck of a lot of stalls selling various merchandise and other assortments of awesome.

One of my favourite booths throughout not only the first day, but the entire weekend, was the GAME booth. Our favourite local distributor, Ubisoft, seemed to have a bit of a presence in that booth as they were showing off titles that were both being distributed locally by them. Those titles? The absolutely amazing ‘Child of Eden’ (though, I think the controls were changed somehow as they varied slightly from the much more rhythmic scheme that we got to preview earlier this year) and Just Dance 2 for the Wii. Myself and my mate (who’s name is being withheld for security reasons) actually gave this a go at the event and had much fun with it. Later, Kelly, her friend and myself returned for more fun.

Streetpass was a great 3DS feature to have been included with the Nintendo 3DS unit and as you can imagine, the Supanova event would have been an idyllic location for such a feature to have been utilised. And it was! I got over 9000 hits at the event (not really that many, but nearly a hundred, my 3DS died and I forgot to pack my charger…). I completed a couple of 3DS puzzles, which was cool, and someone also packed a yellow Mii! So people at the event might have picked him up and are finally able to pass the shielded dude. I also passed some of the guys over at Aussie-Nintendo again, so yeah, hey dudes!

For the majority of the first day, I spent more of my time catching up with a whole bunch of mates and meeting new people. I mean, I didn’t actually think that I knew so many people in attendance! Hey to everyone again! We spent a fair bit of time chatting and checking out all the cosplayers. Cosplay was big this year, as it is every year, but it was certainly pretty epic.

After spending a few hours bouncing from group to group, Kelly and Myself managed to score an interview with the incredible Amy Acker, who is really, really beautiful. Thanks Amy! You can check out the interview here.

Shortly after our interview with Amy, we checked out some booths, we danced to Just Dance 2 (as mentioned earlier) and then called it a night (as the convention was closing shortly). Everyone had tonnes of fun and we were definitely looking forward to the next day.

Be Sure to check back for Day 2!

The real life crimes behind L.A. Noire: Nicholson Electroplating Disaster Arson Case

Rockstar have made it no secret that many of the cases in L.A. Noire are, in fact, based on real life crimes from 1940s Los Angeles: for example, The Red Lipstick Murder homicide case took elements from the real life murder of Jeanne French. With that in mind, it should come as no surprise that the latest piece of DLC – the Nicholson Electroplating Disaster arson case, available on the 21st of June – is in fact inspired by a major crime back in the 1947 L.A.

The crime in question is the explosion at the O’Connor Electro-plating plant on the morning of February 20th, 1947. More than 151 people were injured and 15 people were killed in the disaster, and one of the casualties would become the key suspect for the crime. Robert Magee, the plant’s chief chemist, had obtained his position at O’Connor’s plant following his great credentials (he had a PhD from M.I.T.) and his presentation of a new compound he had created: a blend of perchloric acid that could plate aluminium to gleam like silver without the expense of polishing and buffing.

However, after the blast occurred and Magee was long dead, some disturbing information surfaced: reports claimed he was, in fact, never a student at M.I.T…and the man hadn’t even graduated from high school. His knowledge of chemistry was self-taught, and the dangerous formula was ultimately mishandled by Magee and his team. O’Connor was sued by blast victims and pleaded the fifth amendment during the inquest into the explosion.

But, of course, Rockstar and Team Bondi never take the cases at face value and the Nicholson Electroplating Disaster case holds even more twists and turns in the plot. The DLC is priced at $6.95 on PSN ($7.90NZD), 320 MS points, or free with the Rockstar Pass.

Amy Acker Interview at Supanova Sydney 2011

Both Ben Webb (or Linkage Ayexe, as he’s known to you on the site) and myself had the pleasure of chatting with Amy Acker at the Supanova Pop Culture Expo 2011 in Sydney. Amy is best known for her roles in Angel, where she played Winifried Burkle and Illyria, and Dollhouse where she portrayed Dr. Claire Saunders.

In this interview, Amy speaks to us about her visit to Sydney, her experience both on Angel and Dollhouse, what it’s like to work with Joss Whedon, and her fans. Amy’s latest film is The Cabin in the Woods, a thriller directed by Wendy Lin and due to be released October. She’s an absolute delight to talk to and is actually more gorgeous than her photos (yes, that is possible!). You can take a look at our interview down below.

Just a note: apologies for the noise surrounding us and for the occasional freeze in the frame. We only got a quick ten minutes to talk to her and a panel was going on about 100 metres away.

If you have any questions or comments, leave them below, and check out the rest of our Supanova coverage here.

Robin Officially Revealed for Arkham City!

I can’t believe I am saying this, but as of now I am actually excited to play as Robin. A while back, we brought news about Best Buy‘s pre-order incentive that enabled Robin to be a playable character in Batman: Arkham City. Today, a new screenshot along with some confirming information has been released for the once rumored bonus, showing off a very different Robin than you would expect.

Here is the what players can expect to see in this new DLC:

While supplies last, pre-order the game for an exclusive downloadable Robin character. Robin is a fully playable character in the new and improved challenge mode in Batman: Arkham City. The Tim Drake Robin pack is available exclusively to fans who pre-order the game from Best Buy on Xbox 360, PC and PS3.

Robin comes complete with his own unique gadgets and special moves, and will be playable in all challenge maps in the game, as well as two additional challenge maps that are included with the pack: Black Mask Hideout and Freight Train Escape.

The pack will also contain a bonus Red Robin character skin.

The Arkham City Robin will be portrayed by Tim Drake for the game, hence the name, the “Tim Drake Robin pack”, which is said to be a Best Buy exclusive. While this is awesome news in itself, a new question arises on the topic of Dick Grayson, who went on to become Nightwing. Since other retailers are certainly going to be competing with their own DLC bonuses, we very well could see other incarnations of everyone’s favorite sidekick come along as the release date approaches. We will keep you updated as more news is released on Arkham City’s pre-order bonuses, so stay tuned.
