Code of Princess developer wants to bring sequel to PS4 or Xbox One

code-of-princess-cutscene-grab

Unless it is a certain well known property or something fans have been clamoring for for quite awhile, bringing any Japanese game over to North America is always a risk. However it seems when Atlus USA brought Code of Princess to the US it did “beyond” what the company was expecting considering it only did “so-so” in Japan.

In an interview with Siliconera, producer Yasuo Nakajima said that “Kinu-san already has ideas about Code of Princess 2 in mind already. If Code of Princess 2 goes into development maybe it will be for consoles like PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. I want to develop a sequel to Code of Princess for core gamers like fans that are anticipating Dragon’s Crown now.”

This is great news for fans of the 3DS brawler, but it is worth noting that this isn’t an official announcement of the second game but if it were to happen, it seems that it’ll be appearing on next-gen consoles.

wwe-2k14-cover-contest

While it was announced a long time ago that WWE 2K14‘s cover art will feature The Rock on the cover, 2K Sports is planning on giving gamers at least some sort of choice on the cover of the game. Today both 2K Sports and WWE announced that they will be holding a cover art contest for WWE 2K14 which will allow fans to create images of their own to submit as a possible alternate cover art which will be printed on the other side of the front cover, giving it a reversible cover similar to what we’ve seen in Mass Effect 3 and Tekken Tag Tournament 2.

The winner will be given a copy of the game and one runner up will also be given a game. The full contest details and assets for the cover can be found here while you can submit the cover via the hashtag #wwe2k14cover.

Nordic Games, the studio behind Jack Keane 2: The Fire Within and the Painkiller franchise, had a big announcement today involving one of the game industry’s long-time giants, Atari.

It was revealed that Nordic picked up two of Atari’s intellectual properties, Desperado and Silver. The acquisition was handled by Nordic Games Licensing AB, which is based out of Karlstad, Sweden (whereas the primary business is based out of Vienna, Austria).

Desperados games are steal-based real-time tactical computer games with previous releases in 2001 and 2006. In those games (Desperados – Wanted Dead or Alive and Desperados 2 – Cooper’s Revenge) the players control various characters in a wild west setting, with the primary protagonist being knife fighter and gunslinger John Cooper.

Silver, released in 1999, is an Action RPG  for Dreamcast, Windows, and Mac OS. It was produced by Infogrames. It focuses on David, a young warrior whose quest is to retrieve his wife from the evil villain, Silver.

Today EA and Dice have released a developer diary for Battlefield 4, or perhaps I should say a developer diary for the Frostbite 3 engine considering the video provides all of the highlights that this new engine will be able to give to the game including enhanced water combat, world creation and of course, the various ways that this world can be destroyed.
