Check Out Peter Capaldi’s Doctor Who Costume

doctor-who-logo-screenshot-01

In last year’s Doctor Who Christmas Special: The Time of the Doctor, we bid a fond farewell to the 11th Doctor, Matt Smith and welcomed his replacement; Peter Capaldi, who will be jumping into the TARDIS and flying through space both on screen, and in Titan Comics newly announced graphic novel series.

The part of the Doctor is always very iconic, and that goes beyond just the man, but is very much captured by what he wears. Well, today the BBC have given us our first glimpse of what he 12th Doctor will be donning through his tenure … and here it is:

Very sleek don’t you think? The costume looks like it is heavily inspired by John Pertwee’s 3rd Doctor (which isn’t surprising, considering Capaldi is a very old school Doctor Who fan). Speaking about the costume to BBC, Capaldi had this to say:

He’s woven the future from the cloth of the past. Simple, stark, and back to basics. No frills, no scarf, no messing, just 100 per cent Rebel Time Lord.

With that in mind, will we see a more bad-ass Doctor? Only time will tell. In the mean time, let us know in the comments below what you think of the outfit, and how you think the series will go from here. As always, be sure to stay tuned to Capsule Computers for all the Doctor Who news as it becomes available.

“Retro City Rampage” 3DS Release Date Announced

Retro-City-Rampage-Title-Screen-01

Late last year a little game developer by the name of Brian Provinciano, who just so happens to be the creator of “Retro City Rampage“, announced that his super old-school, action/adventure, 80s throwback title will be getting a release on the leading portable device in out generation; the Nintendo 3DS, yet nowhere within his announcement was there word of a release date…that’s no longer the case though because, within a new announcement via Twitter, it has been confirmed that the game will have its release in February, though no EXACT date was given.

Unfortunately it seems as though this game will not be using the systems 3D capabilities as it would be far too hard to rebuild the entire graphic system all from scratch, Provinciano said it himself in a previous statement. Once again, “Retro City Rampage” is set for a release sometime within February on the 3DS and will go for $9.99 though you can expect prices to be different depending on where you are in the world.

Second Set of “Attack On Titan” Mini Figures To be Released In March

Attack-On-Titan-Mini-Figures-Second-Set-01

Last year saw the release of a set of “Attack On Titanmini figures that were distributed randomly through capsule machines and, despite being available to almost anyone with some loose change, the figurines were quite graphic much like the actual Anime. Now it’s 2014 and these mini figures are back for a second round, this time the figures aren’t AS graphic but the scenes portrayed in the miniatures are just as freaking awesome and just as detailed. There are four of them this time around and, even though most of us reading this don’t actually live in Japan, I’m sure they’ll be available to purchase online as soon as they’re put into capsule machines around Japan in March.

Though apparently players have been favoring The Knight more, but who can really blame them with a name as great as Sir Painhammer.

But, now starts a new kind of experience for the three playable characters as The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot will be entering Open Beta next month, so even more players will be able to join in completely for free. This event will mark more than just an Open Beta however as players will also be able to try out the fourth playable character for the first time, The Runaway.

Players looking to join in can mark February 25th, 2014 as the date for the start of The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot‘s Open Beta-ness. On that day players will be able to download the game and join in looting each other to their heart’s content.

Square Enix has partnered with IndieGoGo to help game developers run more successful crowdfunding campaigns. Game developers can post their projects on Collective and gain valuable feedback from the community. If within 28 days the project can get enough positive feedback, Square Enix and IndieGoGo will put the project under the microscope to make sure the team can complete the game. If the team can pass the inspection, the game will go up on IndieGoGo and may possibly be picked up by Square Enix. “There are lots of really talented small teams around the world with great game ideas. For those teams, getting visibility, momentum, funding and distribution can be very tricky and that’s where we hope Collective can help,” said Phil Elliott, project lead on Collective.

Succesful developers will get a chance to work with some older Eidos IP including Gex, Fear Effect, and Anachronox. Collective is kicking things off with Game of Glens by Ruffian Games, Moon Hunters from Kitfox Games, and World War Machine from Toque Games. Start providing feedback on games at Collective.

Following on from its earlier expansion, Conquest of Paradise, this latest addition to the Europa Universalis franchise showcases a bounty of new features that all emphasise the importance of, well… bounty! As the name would suggest, the stakes have never been higher and through the addition of trade companies, privateers, and conflicts with enemy empires, a gold coin’s shine has never been more important. Here is a run down of some of what’s to come:

The Invisible Hand of the Market: You can act covertly to instigate trade conflicts among the competition, stifling income and leaving yourself atop the economic heap.

Seize the Seas: Hiring privateers can damage enemy shipments and cripple their trade, but risks retaliation in the form of open warfare if you are caught.

Capitalize: Empires can designate a specific port as their trade capital, separate from their national capital, and strengthen local trade routes through the use of inland trade nodes.

Monopolize and Mobilize: Form an East India Company and reach faraway trade partners with an unstoppable shipping concern.

Europa Universalis IV: Wealth of Nations.will be available for PC, Mac, and Linux in Q2 of this year. You can pick up Europa Universalis IV on the game’s official website.
