In what is quickly becoming a trend, Paramount Pictures have released two more posters from their upcoming biblical epic – Noah. Today’s posters feature two more of the film’s actors – Emma Watson and Douglas Booth.
Emma Watson (of Harry Potter fame) plays Ila, the adopted daughter of Russel Crowe’s Noah. Today we also get a close look at Douglas Booth’s (a relative newcomer, having acted in Romeo and Juliet, LOL and The Pillars of the Earth) Shem, another of Noah’s sons.

Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the latest installment of Xbox Newsbeat; your one stop shop for all the Microsoft gaming news. This week we are taking a particular focus on the two home consoles Xbox 360 and Xbox One (sorry Windows Phone, maybe next week). Lets kick it off with some exciting news from the guys over at Wargaming.
As we announced earlier today, Wargaming have finally brought the immensely popular World of Tanks to the Xbox 360. That’s right, so now players all across the globe can download this phenomenon, jump inside their favourite historical tank and blast their friends and foes apart with precision strikes. It should also be noted that World of Tanks: 360 Edition is free-to play! Sure there are the possible in-game purchases, but hey a free XBLA Game is a sweet deal none the less. Check out our announcement hereto find out more about what you get if you download World of Tanks: Xbox 360 Edition.
If that wasn’t enough I also have some more shiny Xbox 360 news (literally that is). Microsoft have also announced two brand new coloured 360 controllers – in a chrome/metallic black and purple. These Special Edition Black Chrome & Special Edition Purple Chrome controllers will be available for AU$69.95 this March (where all good video game products are sold).
Time to shift gears a bit. Let’s talk about Xbox One. “Aw, but Xbox One doesn’t have many games yet!” Well, just wait because Kinect Sports Rivals is confirmed for a release here in Australia on April 8th. No, this isn’t a belated April Fools joke, you will actually be able to play against your friends in embarrassing sports like rock climbing and jet-skiing all from the comfort of your own home… In front of the Kinect… With its stunning 1080p HD visuals and gameplay that has been designed from the ground up to take advantage of the new Kinect Hardware, Kinect Sports Rivals looks to bring a whole lot of fun to the living room.
In order to bring the competition to the next level, Kinect Sports Rivals also introduces teams and captains. Players will be able to choose one of a number of unique teams that each have their unique identity, ethos, and equipment attributes to further their score and help crush their friends.
So what if Kinect Sports isn’t your thing? Do you consider yourself more of a hard-core online gamer? Well guess what, Microsoft has some exciting news for you too! Coming very soon there will be an update to your console that will improve the multiplayer and party system of the console. With the update (that your console may have already updated by the time you read this) brings the following new features to the console:
Get to your friends list faster. The friends list will be front and center on the homepage of the Friends app. Click the Social tile on Home, or say “Xbox, go to Friends” to see who’s online and what they’re up to. From there you can quickly send messages and get into a party.
Party chat will be turned on by default. When you party up, chat audio will be turned on by default.
Chat with friends playing different games. Partychat will be separated from people playing your game, so you can chat with your friends who are online or you can chat with everyone playing the game.
We’re adding an “Invite friends to game” option to your multiplayer titles moving forward. Similar to Xbox 360 titles, this will appear inside a games’ menu and offer a simple and quicker way to set up your multiplayer battles. Selecting “Invite friends” will let you invite friends to your game and party.
We’re adding “Recent Players.” This is a simple list that shows you Xbox Live members you’ve recently played with, making it easier to stay in touch with people, or add new friends after your multiplayer battles.
So now that we have covered all that, lets wind up this week’s Newsbeat with one last piece of hardware news. Microsoft will soon be launching a new headset for the console that will bring full stereo sound right to your ears. This is great for is you live in a share house, or just don’t want to bother the neighbours with the sounds of your sweet Ultra Combo on Killer Instinct. More than that, there will also be an adapter available that will let you plug-in your pre-existing stereo headset. The Headset and Adapter will be available early March for AU$99.95and AU$39.95 respectively.
So that’s it for this week’s Xbox Newsbeat. Did you see anything that piques your interest? Let us know in the comments below and remember to stay tuned to Capsule Computers for all that Xbox news as it becomes available.
Overview Legend of Kay was originally released on the PlayStation 2 back in 2005. The game garnered enough positive support to warrant a version released on Nintendo DS in 2010. Now, Nordic Games are bringing it to the Sony Entertainment Network so fans and enjoy the action-adventure title on their PlayStation 3, but how does it hold up? Is it the cat’s meow or has time killed some of this feline’s nine lives?
Story
The land of Yenching is a peaceful place. Cats, rabbits, frogs, and pandas have all lived in peace, prospering under a religious code known as the Way. With the younger generations abandoning the Way, though, the gorillas and rats have come into Yenching and taken over. After having his martial arts school shut down by the gorillas, Kay, a young feline warrior, takes his master’s sword and sets out to topple the unjust rulers once and for all. Now he’ll have to venture through the homes of rabbits, frogs, pandas, and more to complete his quest.
Gameplay
Fans of games like Crash Bandicoot will quickly feel comfortable with Legend of Kay. The game’s controls are responsive and comfortable, letting you move, jump, attack, defend, and more to progress through the world of Yenching.
The game’s story feels like a standard Saturday morning hero-must-save-all-the-cute-stuff tale, not unlike the classic Crash Bandicoot or even Sonic the Hedgehog. You typically show up in an area and are told about the plight each peaceful race has had brought upon them by the gorillas. You’ll then set off to help resolve their issues, snagging some extra goodies along the way if you want. It’s familiar territory whether you’ve played the game or not. It’s solid fare, but presents nothing remarkable.
The game is spaced out over the course of several major areas. In each area, you’ll deal with a different peaceful species that’s been captured and oppressed by the gorillas. Kay will talk to the townsfolk of each area, finding out what plights they’re suffering and working to right those wrongs or otherwise help out the townsfolk. While there’s one primary quest line to follow, there are often several side quests to keep you busy should you stray off the beaten path.
One of the most intense aspects of the game is the combat. Since Kay is a martial artist, it only stands to reason that we should be excited to take out as many rats as we can. The combat system is well designed, giving you a handful of options for dealing with groups of enemies. Surprisingly, the martial artist only uses his sword in battle, but you can attack, uppercut, jump slash, dodge, block and more to deal with your furry foes. Taking out a big group of enemies quickly can be rewarding, while wildly slashing about can make for a quick end.
Though the world doesn’t typically change too much, in terms of theme, from region to region, there’s plenty of content to keep things interesting. Each area has a few branching paths with hidden things to collect. There are also hidden cat statues scattered about that can lead to a handsome payoff should they all be activated.
If Legend of Kay will hold a spot in your memory for years, the voice acting will be the reason. To their credit, the entire story is told using voice work. Unfortunately, none of it is even close to what games like Uncharted or The Last of Us have brought us to expect. Legend of Kay has, beyond the shadow of a doubt, the worst voice acting I’ve ever listened to in a game. Period. In what appears to be an attempt at grabbing an age-appropriate voice actor, Kay is voiced by an obviously inexperienced adolescent. The inflection often misses the mark. None of this is helped by the poorly written dialogue, which challenges actors to deliver lines punctuated by “Cheesebreath,” and other poor indignities. It all falls flat, serving only to hamper the experience.
Beyond the unremarkable story and terrible voice acting, the game is hampered by occasional riding sections. These put you in control of Kay as he rides atop a beast. The controls feel a little too loose here and they generally boil down to memorizing the courses through previously failed attempts. The camera control also suffers when you’re confined to tighter spaces in, say, a single room boss battle.
Visuals & Audio
Visually, Legend of Kay looks rough. The re-release of the game didn’t grant it any sort of HD update or even minor visual cleanup. The game is nearly a decade old, and it shows it. Still, the characters have an appealing cartoonish aesthetic to them, and the bright color palette is fun to see.
For the most part, the sound is fairly unremarkable. The soundtrack and effects are run-of-the-mill and forgettable. However, as previously mentioned, the game truly has one of the worst voice acting deliveries I’ve seen in a quarter century playing games.
Overall
Despite outdated graphics, a run-of-the-mill Saturday morning storyline, and the worst voice acting since the Zeldagames on the CD-i, I’ve enjoyed the time I spent playing Legend of Kay. The combat and maneuvering mechanics feel sharp and responsive and the bright world is fun to run around in. If you can get past the terrible voice acting and dated graphics, there’s a fun, solid platformer here.

Those that have seen our reviews of the past Blackwell adventure games, hopefully know just how good the games are. Which is why it is sad to see that the fifth game in the series, The Blackwell Epiphany, will in fact conclude the series. Developed and published by Wadjet Eye Games, the Blackwell series features what has become known as the Blackwell Legacy a ghost that “haunts” the family, which leads the women to helping other ghosts find their eternal piece.
Creator Dave Gilbert has said, “I always knew how Rosa and Joey’s story would end,” which hopefully means that fans of the adventure series shouldn’t worry and be able to enjoy how the series departs. But, just what can players expect from The Blackwell Epiphany? A mystery to save ghosts from being ripped apart, literally.
Those excited to see how Rosa and Joey will finish off their series can expect The Blackwell Epiphany to release this April for PC. Anyone that hasn’t experienced the previous titles can check out our review of the first three games in The Blackwell Trilogy and the fourth game, The Blackwell Deception.
It has been an extremely long time coming but finally the Anime world has been blessed with a little more news regarding the, constantly delayed, Akira live-action movie. This news comes in the form of two fantastically illustrated pieces of concept art by the extremely talented artist James Clyne who has made his mark in Hollywood as one of the very best concept artists around. Mr. Clyne has worked on some of the biggest movies of our generation, most notably is the James Cameron blockbuster of 2009; “Avatar”. The man was hired as a concept artist for the live-action Akira movie long ago back when Ruairi Robinson was said to be the director.
As you may all know, this project has seen its fair share of interested directors but we may be lucky with its latest one, a man named Jaume Collet-Serra who mentioned in a recent interview that he hopes the next movie he begins working on is Akira. The image seen at the start of this article is actually one that was released a while ago though I assume many people either missed it or forgot about it much like myself during its time…let’s say “underground”. As you can see Kaneda keeps his name in the possible live-action film whereas Tetsuo’s has been changed to Travis for Western audiences.

The images I urge you to focus on are the two below this paragraph, they were just released by James Clyne and they look absolutely brilliant. Unfortunetely they’re not new illustrations though, they were done back when the movie was first in the works but, up until just now, they had never been released so maybe that’s a good sign. Our prayers go out the movie Gods; “Please, almighty ones, bring us a live-action Akira movie! A good one!”
The developer Crunching Koalas made somewhat of a hit with their game MouseCraft, so much that even though it is only available through Early Access, the game will be making its way far past its PC roots. It was just announced today that developer Curve Studios is working on bringing the game to PS Vita.
Luckily for those that haven’t played MouseCraft yet, the game will be largely the same from its PC version to PS Vita, but those wanted to get it for PS Vita will now have that option and without too much of a delay as it will be releasing alongside the final release of the PC version in May as well.
In addition to the PS Vita version of the game, console gamers will also be able to check out the puzzle style gameplay of MouseCraft when it makes its way to PlayStation 4 this Summer.

News regarding Game Freak and Nintendo’s newest Pokemon title (X and Y) has slowed down over the past couple of months. Apart from the Pokemon Bank issues that have only recently been sorted out, we really haven’t heard too much from our favourite franchise, well that has all changed now thanks to the release of a brand-new legendary.
Diancie, Pokemon number 719, is a Rock/Fairy type that is quite small yet very sturdy. Its body is made up of hard rocks and pink crystals, the fact that it has been titled a “legendary” Pokemon means that this is one little stone pixie NOT to be messed with.
Though not a great deal of information as been released on this cutie it has already been confirmed that it will star in the next Pokemon movie titles; “Cocoon of Destruction and Diance”, which has recently been renamed alongside the reveal of the Pokemon.
As of right now Nintendo nor Game Freak have released any information as to when there will be a distribution for the legendary but we can all assume we wont be waiting too long to get our virtual Pokemon trainer hands on this stone cold fairy. Keep your eyes on the site for any news or information as it breaks and don’t forget to head down to our comments section to let us know what you think of Diancie.

Namco Bandai Games alongside the team over at Shonen Jump have just revealed that a whole bunch of new characters will be joining the “J-Stars Victory Vs.” roster and even though I was only able to list three up there in the title, it seems as though at least five different series’ characters have been added. Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo (Bobobo-bo), Arale (Dr. Slump), Shoya Hinata (Haikyu), Kusuo Saiki (Saiki Kusuo no Psi Nan) and Luckyman (Tottemo! Luckyman) have all been confirmed as the new “J-Stars Victory Vs.” characters.
All of them apart from Haikyu’s Shoya Hinata will be fully playable characters, Hinata will be a support character. Much like every other character release for this game, not a lot has actually been said about their movesets but fans of the series’ will pretty much be able to tell what they will do in the heat of battle. Stick around on the site for all the new information that gets released and don’t forget to head down to our comments section to let us know what you think.
