Updates Available Today for Xbox App on Windows 10

Not only is there a new Games with Gold game available this week, but the Windows 10 “Xbox App” also has a fresh new coat of paint with a new update. The update brings the following features to life:

  • Real-time Friends list presence. Your Friends list will automatically refresh with your friends’ on/offline status and the apps and games in which they’re currently engaged – including whether the game they’re playing can be joined via multiplayer or party.
  • Real-time Activity Feed updates. No need to hit refresh to see new Activity Feed items; keep the Xbox app open and your Activity Feed will let you know when there are new items to view, comment on, like, or re-share.
  • Game progress comparison. Feeling competitive? Discover how you stack up against your friends on specific game progress by visiting the Achievements section of your profile and selecting ‘Compare.’ You’ll enjoy a side-by-side comparison of your selected friends’ progress on games you’ve recently played, including game completion percentage, Gamerscore and Achievements earned.
  • Console text entry. One of the most requested features from Xbox Feedback is being brought to the Xbox app on Windows 10 – the ability to use the Xbox app for text input on Xbox One. You will now be able to use the Xbox app and other inputs compatible with Windows devices – keyboards, touch keypads, and the like – to enter text in search boxes and more on Xbox One.

There we go folks, a short and oh so awesome way to break up the monotony of your Monday evening! Which of today’s two pieces was most interesting for you? Let us know in the comments below (if you aren’t too busy playing Tomb Raider that is) and make sure you stay tuned to Capsule Computers for all the Xbox news as it becomes available.

While the booth designs range from rather simple designs used to draw in fans of the series such as the one above or others attempting to grab as much attention as possible of those walking by with having an elaborate looking design as possible, as seen with World of Tanks below, the long tradition of booth babes continue to be a prominent feature of Tokyo Game Show with most of the booths featuring at least one or more girls dressed up in outfits to try and get those in attendance to stop by.

Philip Federico spent plenty of time visiting these booths on the floor and of course ran into quite a large number of booth babes in his time so we have not only gathered nearly a hundred photos together but also have chosen my top three favorite booth babes from the event.

Third place goes to:

Xperia with a classy but attractive looking design that ranged from the silver shown below to golden variants:

Second Place goes to

Sega’s Phantasy Star Online 2 where the company went the extra mile on this outfit:

and finally the first place ranking goes to

DMM with many of their properties being promoted with numerous girls dressed up with outfits from their plethora of titles:

That is far from all however as most of these booths had numerous girls, with a special shout-out going to Koei Tecmo’s variations with Atelier Sophie and Arslan: The Warriors of Legend. You can check out all of the photographs of the booth babes that we came across in attendance at the Capsule Computers Facebook Album as well as our coverage for the rest of Tokyo Game Show 2015 here.

Although the new announcements and playable demos for upcoming video games are the key highlight for Tokyo Game Show, that doesn’t mean that it isn’t a hot spot for cosplayers to show off their latest outfits, especially video game themed ones though it looks like more anime fans were in attendance this year.

Throughout his time at the event Philip ran into a large number of cosplayers, including an annual Street Fighter cosplayer, many of which appear to have spent quite some time preparing for the event if the extensive amount of detail in their outfits are anything to go by.

While most of the Capsule Computers staff was trying to keep up with the announcements made throughout Tokyo Game Show 2015 and various other activities, our own Philip Federico was wandering around the event floor, taking advantage of the thinner crowds that make up the first two days of the event which are open only to the press and businesses.

Philip took quite a large number of photos from the event floor as he snapped up shots of numerous booths, the various statues that were created to help promote games such as Attack on Titan and the recently announced Gravity Rush, and of course plenty of other titles that weren’t highlighted too much thanks to the glitz and glammer of major titles.

Atlus then announced that there will be an anime of some sort created for Persona 5 sometime in the future, though the company did not state whether or not it would simply be a special prologue or a full-blown anime adaptation like Persona 4 was given a few years ago.

Mobile Strategy Game Dawn of Steel Ready for Launch on iOS

High-profile mobile game by flaregames and Superweapon will be published on September 24th exclusively for iPad and iPhone

Karlsruhe / San Francisco – September 21rst, 2015 | Flaregames, a leading international developer and publisher of F2P mobile games, announced today that Dawn of Steel, a deeply tactical strategy game for iOS devices, launches worldwide on September 24th, 2015. The developer is Superweapon, a new studio comprised of friends who worked on prestigious strategy game franchises like Command & Conquer, Empires & Allies, Company of Heroes, and The Lord of the Rings. Dawn of Steel will be free to play and be available localized in 17 languages.

Klaas Kersting, CEO of flaregames, says: “I simply cannot overstate my excitement. Superweapon and flaregames worked so hard on this game. We’re very pleased with how it came out and are dying to see how gamers worldwide will react to it!”

Amer Ajami, President of Superweapon, adds: “We used the months since the game was announced to expand and polish the meta gameplay, giving Dawn of Steel a new strategic dimension. We also added more content, fixed bugs and incorporated feedback from hundreds of players. A developer’s work is never done, but we’re sure to have created a game that millions of players will love!”

Dawn of Steel aims to capture the essence of the real-time strategy genre for mobile devices: Players assemble squads of giant mechanized walkers, called Rigs, and direct them on an assault of enemy fortifications. Success depends on tactical prowess, quick decision-making, and precise movement. This is assisted by the intuitive direct-touch control scheme that gives the player many options of how to harness the mechanized power he’s controlling. To defend against these mighty armored behemoths, dealing destruction with surgical precision, is no easy feat: Players have to use cunning, strategic foresight and, again, tactical thinking, as base-building in Dawn of Steel is more than just unlocking and placing buildings. Commanders get to utilize stationary weaponry, which must be arranged carefully to maximise damage with overlapping lines of sight, and can launch automated counter-attacks through the use of unit-spawning buildings. They must align buildings within the effects of auxiliary installations to maximize their defensive potential, and this makes for base-building that is unmatched in tactical depth.

On the lush surface of the planet Leviathan, corporate armies battle for control of Plasma, the most precious resource of all. And on this very battlefield, the fate of Earth will be determined.

Final Fantasy XV Chocobo Riding and Fishing Introduced in Latest Video

Final-Fantasy-XV-screenshot-(21)

Although there are many dangers in the wild, that doesn’t mean that Noctis and his buddies will be spending all of their time in Final Fantasy XV fighting against enemies. During their Tokyo Game Show stage event Square Enix spent five minutes showing off two other things that players can spend time with. The main one happens to be Chocobo riding, leaving the car behind in favor of the maneuverable iconic birds that can leap around the environment and even slide while turning for sharper turns while the second happens to be a fishing mini-game.

The fishing aspect allows players to catch a variety of fish in different areas and even grill them up later for dinner in the camp. You can check out the footage below while Final Fantasy XV itself is set to be released on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One sometime in the future.
