Killzone 3 Officially announced; screenshots included

Looks like fans of Guerrilla Games’ Killzone series will be seeing the third installment to one of the PS3’s most popular games. Not only that but the whole experience will be available in 3D! However it begs the question as to whether or not the game is going to utilize the 3D feature to its fullest and maybe even incorporate special features with the 3D option. Or will it simply be a gimmick where the designers purposely made things fly towards the screen in cut scenes that look completely out of place. If done right however I would love to be behind cover and see bullets zipping by and coming towards me or pieces of cover flecking off as bullets riddle the wall.

Not only that though, as in the above screen shot you can see that Killzone 3 will be sporting jet packs and below there will be a new Arctic setting. Jet packs used to be a gamers dream, but now there has been three games this year with the feature incorporated into it. We’ve had Dark Void which centralized around the jet pack feature but had some issues. Then now we are seeing the incorporation of jet pack based combat within another FPS in Halo: Reach. So it’ll be interesting to see what will set Killzone 3’s jet pack apart from the already seen versions to date.

Not only that but the storyline will continue exactly where it left off from the previous Killzone where Rico and Sey are battling against the extremely angry Helghast after Rico had killed their emperor Scolar Visari. It seems now that with their leader dead the Helghast have fallen into a state of disarray and these two soldiers are stuck in the midst of the anarchy. Couple that with the new close range attack system called rather simply Brutal Melee should lead to quite an interesting turn for this third iteration of the series.

Bear in mind however that there has been no news of a release date and the game was just officially announced today. We will keep you updated if we hear anything more about the game or any release information that may be forthcoming.

Voodoo Dice and DOOM 2 (According to Major Nelson) are both set to release this Wednesday (May 26) on Xbox LIVE Arcade for 800 points each.

Thoughts:
Voodoo Dice looks like an interesting puzzle game that supports both single player and multiplayer (local). Definitely worth looking at the trial to see how much fun moving dice and facing multiple puzzle elements is.

DOOM 2 is an instant buy for me (huge doom fanboy here), evil demon killing is on its way! There are also rumored avatar awards, hopefully they are true.

Halo Reach Scheduled for release on the 14th Of September

Bungie has announced that Halo Reach will be available world wide on the 14th of September (15th of September in Japan)

There was over 2.7 million gamers who loggin in and tested out the multiplayer Beta for the upcoming prequel to the Halo Series.  A total of 16 million hours was spent and over 1.1 billion virtual kills were performed during the 18 day public beta.  That has to be a record in anyone’s book.  I think that the amount of data collected by bungie will certainly aid them in creating and fine tuning the best Halo Reach experience.

Make sure you read the rest of the article over on Yahoo and stay tuned for more information in the coming days.

Phoenix Wright OBJECTS his way onto the Apple iPhone !!

OBJECTION !!!!!!!

Buy Now : Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney

Yes you heard it Capcom’s Phoenix Wright has made its way over to the Apple iPhone for a crazy price of only $4.99 a fraction of the price you would be paying if you purchased the game on the Nintendo DS.

Having quickly played through a little of the game just before it seems as though Capcom have ported over the DS version with the same look and feel of the dual screens.  Playing the game will be quite similar as playing it on the Nintendo DS with the bottom part of the screen used for buttons and menu system as when you are in court or just investigating.   Everything seems to work quite well and the controls are very intuitive and easy to use with your finger.

As we all know Mr Wright is always fun to play, the game is an adventure where you traverse through court rooms and crime scenes as you collect the much needed information to win your case.  Collecting evidence is key and you will need to be on your toes and very alert when gathering the evidence you need and presenting it court.  There are a total of Five cases, same as the original and each case should take you a 1 to 2 hours to complete.  The speed of which you can complete the cases is totally up to you and how quickly you can read and gather and OBJECT your case in court.

For $4.99 this a CRAZY price complare to the original $49.99 on which the game was released on the Nintendo DS when it first came out.  If you have this title already and would like to Phoenix Wright with you anywhere you go.  $4.99 is a BARGAIN !!

Pick it up now and OBJECT to anything and everyone anywhere you go, just don’t scare the little old lady that’s sitting next to you on the bus when you do it 😉

Privates May not pass peer review

Zombie Cow’s next quirky project, the genital-exploring twin-stick shooter Privates may actually have difficulty passing peer review. This indie title must pass a series of peer reviews in order to make it out to the indie marketplace. Cearly, a game about your privates would have a really hard time passing.

A Microsoft representative has stated, “we can confirm that if it is consistent with the description we have seen on the Internet, this game would not pass peer review and would not be permitted to be distributed on Xbox Live.”

Zombie Cow co-founder Dan Marshall told Seattle PI, “There was always going to be a risk it won’t pass Peer Review, but obviously we’ll do whatever we can to get the Xbox version out,” and continued by saying “it’d be a shame if a huge number of teenagers missed out on some quality gaming and vital education because of some abstract, cellular-level innards and pubic hairs.”

Don’t worry though, if the game doesn’t pass the Xbox Live peer review process, Privates will get a free PC release courtesy of UK’s Channel 4. (Note: it will probably only be available in the UK if it doesn’t pass peer review)

New UFC Undisputed 2010 Trailer Featuring Georges St. Pierre!

It’s only a few short days until the release of THQ’s second installment of their hit UFC Undisputed series, and they’ve just released a new trailer featuring none other than Georges St. Pierre, the most dominant UFC Welterweight champion of all time!

For those who aren’t massive UFC fans, a little background on GSP: since his debut he was won 20 of this 22 fights, and he’s avenged both of those losses. An example of his dominance in the Welterweight division over the last few years? In a recent title defence against Thiago Alves he actually tore his groin in the early rounds, and still continued on to grind out an easy unanimous decision!

If you’re going to fight in the Welterweight division when you play UFC Undisputed 2010, make sure you use Georges St. Pierre – you can’t go wrong!

Onto the trailer! If this doesn’t get you pumped for the release on May 27th nothing will!
