Outlaws to the End for Red Dead Redemption = Free DLC

Looks like there are some generous people in the wild west. Rockstar has announced their official release date for the first DLC, Outlaws to the End, for Red Dead Redemption that date being June 22nd. The best news about this DLC however, is that it will be entirely free. The DLC is essentially a pack of online co-operative missions where you can play with up to three other friends totaling four players into the Free Roam. With this mode there will be many shoot outs and take you along many different areas of the wild west. It’ll toss six online co-op missions (for two to four players) into the sandbox and take your posse uphill, downstream and in-between several shootouts. It will also include challenges, bonus multiplayer XP awards and Achievements/Trophies.

Three missions have already been detailed by Rockstar:

“Walton’s Gold”
Walton’s Gang have taken control of a mining camp rich with gold. Fight through the camp and load your mine cart with as much gold as you can carry and get out as fast as you can – Walton’s boys have rigged the place to blow!

“The River”
Ride a raft down river, taking out rebel encampments along the way until you reach the rebel stronghold of Nosalida and a final epic battle for the town’s massive weapons caches. Watch out for Gatling gun-equipped enemy rafts.

“Ammunition”
The Mexican Army has the town of Tesoro Azul under siege. Storm the gates under heavy cannon, Gatling gun and sniper fire to destroy the Mexican artillery placements.

Best thing of all is that this DLC is free. Most of the times when you hear of DLC for a game it also comes with a bit of dread as you know you will have to pay more to experience it. I’m looking forward to this DLC and include some nice co-operative action outside of getting shot by everyone in Free Roam.

Can you keep a secret about Tunguska?

Do you like to keep secrets? How about the opposite side of the spectrum and find out about the secrets of what has happened in Tunguska.

Back in the year 1908 in the middle of a Siberian Summer a group of Russians saw a large column of light that was as blinding as the sun, followed by a giant explosion causing the Russians to be killed from the explosion. Now what has happened? Was it an act of god? Something outside of imagination? Or was this some weapon tested by an underground organization, it could even be none of those; it is your job to truly find out what happened.

A century later you take the footsteps of Nina Kalenkov who is just a normal woman. but her father on the other hand is a brilliant scientist. When he suddenly vanishes Nina discovers that her father has been researching what may have happened at Tunguska. Nina, desperate to find her father travels to Siberia to find out what the Tunguska Event may have been and what has happened to her father.

Secret Files: Tunguska is a throwback to the old point and click adventure games that used to be so prominent in the past. It will be arriving on the Nintendo DS and the Wii for $19.99 for each system. Check the trailer below and see what you think!

Super Mario Galaxy 2 – Sydney Event

Nintendo Australia hosted a fantastic Super Mario Galaxy 2 event on board the STARSHIP SYDNEY (perfect name for a Super Mario Galaxy event) that cruised around Sydney Harbour all evening while selected members of the press / media on board got to experience, play touch and feel first hand the new Super Mario Galaxy 2 for Nintendo Wii.  The evening kicked off with a great Presentation by Nintendo’s Product Representative Jame Wilson explaining and going through new gameplay mechanics, features and also new outfits that Mario will be able to use in the game plus much much more.

Video presentation (shown just below) introduces you to the new world of Super Mario Galaxy 2.  Where you can run, jump, double jump, tripple jump, backflip, fly, ground pound, spin …. ok ok you get my drift … do pretty much anything you wish in an amazing new galaxy fill with color, life and most of all imagination.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 is by far the most polished title I’ve ever come across on the Nintendo Wii.  It certainly surpasses the original Super Mario Galaxy in leaps and bounds and Super Mario Galaxy was a master piece in every possible way.

On top of what Mario already has in his arsenal and bag of tricks and moves.  Nintendo have thrown even more in to give him that little extra advantage when taking on Bowsers evil minions.  Not to spoil it for anyone but Mario can now use a drill that can be used to tunnel through surfaces all the way to the other side of a planet, he can also become cloud Mario and create his very own cloud platforms to jump to, and also eat a BOULDER mushroom !!! YES A BOULDER Mushroom that will put him a boulder suit and allow Mario to ram into objects and enemies and even bowl them over like bowling pins … So far from what we’ve seen, looks like Super Mario Galaxy 2 is bowling a perfect game !! STRIKES all the way !!

Along with Mario’s new abilities his friend YOSHI is back and he too has some super cool tricks and updates up his sleave one of which is called the “Dash Pepper” after eating a hot chillie pepper Yoshi will have the ability to run up steep inclines and vertical walls.  There are many other super cool abilities but you’ll have to wait until we review the game.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 Blasts Off for another out of this world adventure in Australia on the 1st Of July 2010.  Save up your hard earned cash as this is a game you HAVE to own … PERIOD … no questions asked.

Special thanks goes out to Nintendo Australia for hosting this fantastic event for all the press/media.  As always the venue was great, the food and drinks were top notch and were constantly coming out, the hospitality was fantastic and most of all Super Mario Galaxy 2 was a complete pleasure to play.
