In Celebration of The World Cup

Do you think the Vuvuzela is annoying? So do a lot of people, including one guy that pretty much went insane from the noise. Certain Broadcasts are also offering Vuvuzela free games by “cutting” out the annoying sound from the video. Read the Full Story on that here. Youtube has jumped onto this, and has added a button on the bottom of almost every video. This button lets you put an annoying Vuvuzela noise on top of the usual audio that the video would play. All fun until someone’s ears bleed.

Someone even made a Doom 2 mod, with a new ultimate weapon. A Vuvuzela! Check it out, and that is also the annoying sound you can overlap the audio with on youtube (just in case you miss it).

But still… Nothing beats the ultimate weapon in Doom! Check that one out below. Not even a scratch on that guy. That is some serious sound power!

Enjoy your Soccer everyone!

Shiki – Anime Preview

Just like with High School of the Dead we have yet another horror Anime this summer coming in the form of Shiki. Another name for this title would be Corpse Demon, as it was written by Ono Fumiyo. Now we have the Anime version of her popular novel.

In 1994 Sotoba village, with only a population of 1,300 starts to suffer mysterious deaths. These strange deaths happen shortly after a strange and mysterious family moves into the abandoned Kanemasa mansion. Ozaki Toshio who is the only doctor in Sotoba initially thinks that some sort of disease is the cause for the sudden increase of deaths in the tiny village. However upon investigation that is far from the truth, and a vampiric nature begins to show from those in Kanemasa mansion.

Yuuki Natsuno is also a central character of the story, living in Sotoba only after his family decided that city life was to hectic and forcing the move to the country. Now with these deaths in the village, what has Sotoba become involved in? We shall see July 8th when Shiki premieres.

Recommendation: If you are looking for a good horror story, but not interested in as much comedy or romance mixed in, this is definitely one for you. However bear in mind that the original story consists of over one hundred and fifty different characters, so this could be quite the populated Anime, plus there is the way the various horror elements are presented may not appeal to everyone.

See Singularity’s Multiplayer

So what if you could play Left 4 Dead in third person as the special infected? Well Singularity has a bit of a multiplayer twist like L4D’s. Instead of opposite human teams, one team will play as soldiers while the other team will play as the dangerous and twisted monsters. The soldiers will take a first person perspective, and the creatures will play in third person.

One thing that makes me curious on this trailer, is if your human controlled soldier is taken over by one of the possesser enemies, do you die immediately or will you be stuck to watch as your soldier shoots your team mates and then dies. Quite a harsh world this multiplayer will be. Though we will see if it will turn out to be unbalanced as the game arrives this upcoming week.

Asobi ni Iku yo! – Anime Preview

AIC Plus is bringing together yet another Anime for those of us who enjoy anthropomorphic characters, such as those with cat ears. In Asobi ni Iku yo! we see the story of Kio Kakazu, a boy who just has entered high school. He meets a mysterious girl who happens to have cat ears, and also happens to be an alien named Elice. She is a member of an alien race of cat people known as the Kya-thia, which leaves signs that there will also be other types of aliens showing up somewhere down the line.

This Anime has the early feelings of what Urusei Yatsura about it, as it contains an alien woman showing up at a high schooler’s home and living there. Then more aliens start to show up and trouble ensues. Expect to see a large amount of humor here, but also a decent amount of drama as if my prediction is correct, everyone will end up falling in love with Kakazu. In the preview below we see the alien woman, what appears to be a child hood friend, and a few other girls who may make up what is looking to be the sci-fi harem of the summer. Though the top harem type will still likely rest with Sekirei Second Engagement.

Recommendation: Well anyone who has been following my posts throughout has noticed that catgirls are a favorite of mine, and I highly recommend this show. Plus this seems to be the only harem style anime with sci-fi elements this season so if you are a fan of sci-fi then this is right down your ally. Though again from what I have seen it does have a bit of a revealing nature.

Top Secret PAC-MAN Documents

Pac-Man mastermind Toru Iwatani the creator Pac-Man.  Still carries top secret documents with him everywhere he goes.  Iwatani-san was at Festival Of Gamesas speaker and guess what he had in his little blue folder of notes.  YES … Iwatani-san was carrying with him the “Original” Pac-Man design sketches.

As you can see the big red mark in the middle means Secret,  bottom of the page scribbled in Japanese means Pattern.  We can see top secret pattern of the maze to Pac-Man at the time.

Personally I don’t know why Iwatani-san would be carrying these documents around with him.  If it was me I’d have them locked in my safe guarded by Pac-Man ghosts in a MAZE !!! 😉  But maybe they bring him inspiration, hope and good luck.
