Popular rock bands contribute to soundtrack for Deep Silver’s high-flying off-road arcade racing game
The ultra-fast off-road racing experience that is nail’d is to receive a rousing soundtrack featuring big names from the rock scene. While players race their quads or bikes down over-the-top tracks at breakneck speeds, fly through the air over yawning chasms and dodge insane obstacles that seem to spring from out of nowhere, a collection of kickass songs will help fuel their adrenaline to the absolute limit.
Deep Silver has secured the rights to epic music including tracks from Slipknot, the Backyard Babies, Queens of the Stone Age and Rise Against. Bands like these play fast and hard and provide the perfect soundtrack for a game that is all about speed, attitude and fun.
“We wanted a soundtrack that inspires the player to deliver their absolute best performance each and every time they race,” said Geoff Mulligan, COO of Deep Silver, Inc. “nail’d is about speed and nothing inspires the reckless and risky behavior required to dominate in the world of nail’d like guitar-shredding rock n roll.”
In addition to this fantastic collection of electrifying licensed tracks, nail’d will also feature incredible music created especially for the gameby an all-star group of rock luminaries. More details regarding the nail’d OST and the stars contributing to it will be released in the near future.
Developed by Techland, nail’d will be released for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft®, and Windows PC. The worldwide launch of nail’d has been scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2010.
Yesterday, Deep Silver proved to us that point-and-click Adventure games aren’t dead with the release of Secret Files: Tunguska.
In 1908, a mysterious explosion over Tunguska, Russia puzzled scientists. Today, the consensus is that a meteoriod exploded in the atmosphere, but perhaps it was actually something far more sinister. As Nina Kalenkov, a modern day Russian living in Berlin, searches for her missing father, she begins to uncover the extraordinary secrets of Tunguska.
Laden with puzzles, interactive environments, and multiple dialogue options, Secret Files: Tunguska promises to be one helluva ‘explosive’ game.
I feel dirty for having made that joke. I need to shower.
Anyway, stay tuned for an upcoming review by yours truly, and we’ll find out if the game is worthy of purchase.
Secret Files: Tunguska retails for about $20 US, and is rated T for Teen by the ESRB.
Valve has released the final two parts of their Portal 2 video extravaganza. And now we see that things will be quite messy this time around with the Propulsion and Repulsion gel. You can see everything below in these videos and boy are they quite complicated. Also the second video contains video of all the various additions working with one another. Plus we see some deadly spiked walls of doom slamming down on what could have been the poor test subject.
Personally I enjoy the way that the gel actually moves around and flies through the air; as well as the skidding that the propulsion gel causes. The repulsion gel itself is another useful tool but seems just like a movable aerial faith plate.
If you act quickly you may be able to gain early access to the Xbox 360 demo of Kane & Lynch 2 in either the United States or the United Kingdom. It is not required but I recommend visiting the games website to find out more information about the demo.
However acquiring the demo is as simple as pressing a few buttons on your cell phone. As you may see on your Xbox Dashboard, you only have to text the following to 72579: “Dog Days”. Bear in mind that it is not case sensitive and it is also on a first come first serve basis, so if you want to jump in on the demo early, now is your chance. As of this posting there are still codes being given out. Also a simple reply saying Stop will prevent you from receiving any more messages from Kane & Lynch 2 if you so wish. Also you can receive a code via email if you have signed up for such on their website, but those codes have largely been given out already.
Hopefully everyone can get themselves one of these codes and get in on the Multiplayer fun which will feature the Fragile Alliance game mode.
Remember how you could either return the Little Sisters immediately back into the vent shafts to recieve a bit of ADAM, or you could take them around and harvest it from corpses while defending them? Well if you prefer the latter of those two, then the next DLC for 2K Games’ Bioshock 2 is right up your alley.
In a quote from the President of 2K Games Cristoph Hartmann:

I’m proud to announce the first of these experiences, the Protector Trials, which takes players back to some of their favorite places from the original game and features some of the biggest challenges that fans of this series have ever experienced.”
Protector Trials will feature yourself as the Prototype Big Daddy still, while defending a Little Sister as she harvests ADAM from the corpses of Rapture. You will be able to defend her in any way you so please, but bear in mind that you will have to go far above your normal standards to successfully protect her. Where you will be protecting her will be a matter of choosing between six new different maps that have been selected from the campaign mode. There will even be new achievements released for this DLC, but that is pretty standard nowadays.
If you wish to purchase this DLC, look out for it on the XBLM and PSN on August 3rd for 400 MS points, or $5. Catch the trailer below!
If you happen to have been purchasing plenty of Nintendo games over the past year and been registering them online for Club Nintendo coins, then your work is finally about to pay off. Today Club Nintendo has announced the rewards for gold members (300 coins) or platinum members (600 coins). These coins only count since last July until now, so if you have been holding back on registering then it is to late now to redeem them for these prizes but you never know for next year.
Gold members will receive an exclusive calendar, but that isn’t too exciting. What is exciting is that Platinum Members will receive a “Super Mario Characters Figurine” which stands at 3.9″ in height, with a 4.6″ diameter. As you can see above it will include many of our star Super Mario characters.
I myself haven’t been able to reach either of these memberships with my coins, but has anyone here made it to either Gold or Platinum? It says you can choose between the calendar and figure but we all know what anyone would prefer.

SEGA announced that the next Aliens vs Predator map pack will be coming out this month (July). The map pack will introduce two new maps – ‘Crashsite’ and ‘Furious’ – which will be available for use in all six competitive multiplayer modes. The map pack also includes an adittional two maps – ‘Monument’ and ‘Tempest’ – for use in survival mode.
All four maps for the ‘Bughunt Map Pack’ will also incorporate brand new weather effects and environmental hazards. Ooh this sounds exciting!
Aliens vs Predator ‘Bughunt Map Pack’ will be available on July 7th on the Xbox Live Marketplace for 560 Microsoft Points.

By the title you may be saying: “But the new tomb raider game is coming out this summer”. Well, there is a new Tomb Raider coming out this summer according to Microsoft, but I am talking about another Tomb Raider game that could possibly be releasing in 2011.
Speculation has been bouncing around, and Square Enix isn’t commenting on any of the speculation. For those of you who are still interested though, keep reading.
Crystal Dynamics has supposedly been hard at work on a new Tomb Raider game for the series. This time, it is supposedly a “young and inexperienced Lara Croft” exploring tombs beneath an island off of the coast of Japan. Sound interesting? Further evidence is located in the Online Portfolio of ex-Crystal Dynamics artist Joel Boucquemont’s. His website is located here. Just go to the Concept Art Section and click on the Tomb Raider tab to see concept art and possible locations for the game.
I’ve gone through the entire bunch, and the only one that looks possibly like Tomb Raider is the one above.
Either way, we have a possible new Tomb Raider in development. Who is excited?
