0

The downloads for this week are:

  • Jett Rocket (WiiWare: Shin’en Multimedia, 1,000 Wii Points)
  • Ufouria: The Saga (Virtual Console: Sunsoft, NES, 500 Wii Points)
  • Prehistorik Man (DSiWare: Interplay, 800 Nintendo DSi Points)
  • Ball Fighter (DSiWare: Teyon, 500 DSi Points)
  • Puffins: Let’s Fish! (Other Ocean Interactive, 500 Nintendo DSi Points)
  • Maestro! Green Groove (DSiWare: Neko Entertainment, 500 Nintendo DSi Points)
  • Extreme Hangman (DSiWare: Gamelion, 200 DSi Points)

This week’s notable mentions are the two retro games of the group, Uforia: The Saga, and Prehistorik Man. Uforia: The Saga was originally seen on NES and will now be on the Virtual Console. It was a fairly unknown platformer at the time of it’s release in 1992.

Prehistorik Man is also a game from the past. In fact, although it’s been released on DSiWare where there is no Virtual Console service for retro games, it is actually a direct port of a SNES platformer.

Fable 3 Combat Video

The video below is combat from Fable 3. Supposedly they have added a plethora of cool stuff, but I’m looking at the video myself and all I really see is some fancy moves, quicker switches between attack styles, and many more enemies on screen at one time.

The dog still does absolutely nothing, and it seems a bit slow? Anyone else agree on that.

The game does look very cool though, and that touch feature at the end where you hug the little girl and hold her hand as you take her back to her mom is pretty “sweet”.

Remember guys, Lionhead has stated that Fable 3 is focused more on Action/Adventure and less on RPG. Hopefully the action is awesome! Can’t really tell by just watching the below video.

New SAW II Game Trailer – Get ready for some intense torturing!

saw-ii-flesh-and-blood-logo-01

A fresh trailer has just been released for Konami’s upcoming sequel in the SAW franchise!

Judging by the trailer it seems that we’ll get to witness many incredibly violent (virtual) torture scenes as the main character, Michael, will progress through the game.

The game will be available for the X-Box and PS3 and is scheduled to be released on October 31st.

FIFA Manager 11 announced for PC

Some important teams are already out from the World Cup 2010, but you have a chance to change this by yourself in Fifa Manager 11.

EA Sports will celebrate the tenth anniversary of its popular football management series with Fifa Manager 11, considered by them as a leap forward in virtual football management.

Fifa Manager 11 includes a host of new feature enhancements including an improved tactics system, a much more realistic transfer market and an extended online mode that offer easier access to novice players while providing a deeper experience for existing fans. Fifa Manager 11 allows gamers to take control and show the highly paid professional coaches how it’s really done.

“We want to provide our fans with a completely unique football management experience in this anniversary year for the franchise with all the great new innovations that reflect actual real life football management included in Fifa Manager 11. We are very proud that we are now developing our tenth Fifa Manager game in succession. This would not have been possible without the support of our superb and still growing fan base.” Gerald Köhler, lead designer of the Fifa Manager series

Fifa Manager 11 is in development for EA Sports by Bright Future Studios in Cologne. The game is expected for the PC, in five different languages, this autumn.

Chibiterasu Plushie will brighten your day

Over at the Capcom Store you have the chance to pre-order Chibiterasu in full plush format. Chibiterasu is the protagonist for the upcoming DS Okami Sequel and boy is this one of the best bits of video game merchandise I’ve ever seen.

Chibiterasu is 17.7 inches long (45 CM) and as you can see below is perfect for a lap pillow/dog. Unfortunately you can only purchase this great plush wolf through Capcom’s Japanese store and will be available a week after the game itself comes out in Japan. If you wish to purchase this adorable Okamiden plushie then you will have to have a friend in Japan purchase it for you. And then you would need to reimburse them for the price of ¥5,040 ($57)

Ryu and Chun Li on Your Feet

You know a video game franchise has expanded beyond the video game world when there are shoes being designed that use the characters for templates. That is true right now with Street Fighter. As Nike and Capcom have teamed together to make official Street Fighter character themed shoes. There are currently two designs out at the moment, but more are expected to be released as time goes on.

The blue and white Dunk Low shoes are designed on Chun-Li’s colors, while the black, red, and white Mid Kicks are taken from Ryu’s colors. Unfortunately however, the only bit that we can tell even comes from the characters themselves is the coloring. There is not even a Capcom logo on the shoe, but just a Nike symbol. It will be interesting to see how much these cost but with only the colors being used, it’s a wonder if they would even be classified as Street Fighter Themed.

Dead Rising 2 will receive the full experience EVEN in Australia

Yeah BABY !! I get to see boobies .. and they wont be censored !!

I’m in shock to this announcement and also giddy at the same time…

THQ Australia (Distributors of Capcom product in Australia) today confirmed that one of this year’s most hotly anticipated titles, Dead Rising 2, is set for release in Australia on September 30th

In addition to news of the release date, Australian gamers playing Dead Rising 2 will receive the full experience, playing the same version released in North America and the UK. Dead Rising 2 has received an MA15+ classification and consumer advice of strong horror violence, blood and gore and sexual references.  (I can’t believe this .. it’s like some sort of miracle has happened)

Sequel to the million plus seller, Dead Rising, and set in the gambling paradise of Fortune City, Dead Rising 2 introduces new main character, Chuck Greene, and delivers 1000s more zombies with even more ways to defeat them as players try to survive for 72 hours in this darkly comedic, no holds-barred action title.

Get ready for some Zombie destruction in only a few months time !!  Chuck Greene…. start your engine … on your chainsaw 😉
