I don’t know about you guys, but I love collecting achievements in games; the sense of completing a game and putting it away permanently just feels so good. Sadly, there are some games that have time sensitive achievements in them. Achievements that can only be unlocked on a specific day are the most annoying of them, if you miss the day you have to wait another year to get it again. By the time the year is up, you forget about it and miss the day again.
That’s why I’m here to remind you!
If you have “Brothers In Arms” or “Saints Row 2” there are certain days coming up that will enable you to unlock certain achievements.
~~~
Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway
Remember September ’44 (50) While connected to Xbox LIVE, play the game on September 17th.
~~
Saints Row 2
Kingpin (40 ) Earn 30 Multiplayer Badges
(Kin pin requires you to get 30 multiplayer badges, one of them requires you to either play on either September 19th (National Talk Like a Pirate Day) or on December 5th ( the Day of the Ninja). Thus earning you the “ARR…” badge.
Following the confirmation of the HD ports of Shadow of the Colossus and ICO, 1UP claim to have it on good authority that Muramasa and Odin Sphere will be getting the same treatment.
According to the report, sources in Japan are saying Vanillaware is getting ready to release the two games as downloadable titles, rumored for Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network. Seeing Muramasa and Odin Sphere in HD would be a wondrous treat, seeing as how both games look fantastic already. Since this bit of news is only a rumor, you can expect to hear more as soon as we do.
The Tokyo Game Show is in full swing and Capcom have now shown the trailer for the brand new Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth 2 which will be headed to the Nintendo DS. Not much is known at the moment but Capcom did bring an awesome new Japanese trailer showing off the game which looks to be another awesome entry in the Ace Attorney series.
You might even catch some familiar faces such as Will Powers and Shelly De Killer in the new trailer meaning other past characters could very well be making a return as well. Miles Edgeworth 2 at this moment is only confirmed for Japan but I look for a North American/EU release to be announced a bit down the line so check back for more updates. You can check out the trailer below.
Exciting announcements have been spilling out of Tokyo all throughout the day, but this one seemed to have come out of left field. Phantasy Star Online 2 was revealed during Sega’s live stream of their part of the show.
The trailer shows how Phantasy Star has evolved over the many years, ramping up to the announcement of PSO2. The game is said to be out next year on PC.
PixelJunk’s latest trailer for their upcoming project, Lifelike, is certainly cool and unique to watch. Omar Cornut, Q-Games, and Baiyon, musician, take to the first with Playstation Move controllers and pink hats to do weird things. Throughout the trailer the visualization part of Lifelike comes in the play, suggesting you can waggle the Move controller to the music to create different visual effects. Other than that, I have no idea what’s going on.
PixelJunk lifelike does not have a set release date at his point.
It has been a big release week for gamers so Swords might have went under the radar for some. We recently told you about Majesco’s Swords which is now out for the Nintendo Wii which looks promising and perfect for those wanting a new sword-fighting fix on the system. Swords uses the motion-plus and the Wii-Mote to fully utilize the motion detection for a superb sword fighting experience.
Players begin their quest in the training dojo where Sensei Musashi helps them develop skills and master combo attacks to defeat even the most challenging fighters. Players can continue to develop their skills in between fights with additional drills involving carving, sparring, blocking and even battling a horde of zombies. EA have now released information and a few screenshots of their first game for the Nintendo 3DS. The new game has the working title of “My Garden” which will allow players to plant their own virtual gardens in a beautiful 3-D environment. Just from the first screenshots alone, this unique title is looking like it could be one of the most visually pleasing games we have seen so far for the 3DS as it seems to use the 3-D to full effect and with the bright colors and world that seems to be plucked out of Pikmin. My Garden was also one of the many new titles announced at the Tokyo Game Show today.
“With My Garden, our aim was simple: to make something beautiful that comes to life on the Nintendo 3DS like no other platform,” said Rod Humble, Executive Vice President of the EA Play Label. “We hope to offer a game that’s so immersive that it truly brings the delight of owning a garden to life through a visually stunning 3D experience.”
Players will also be introduced to the their new sidekick that goes by the name of Tanuki. As you can see by the image above, Tanuki seems to be a cross between a butterfly and a chipmunk. With Tanuki’s help, players will test their green thumbs on a variety of missions that inspire them to create beautiful outdoor spaces in six unique environments such as an arid desert, the banks of a cascading brook, and a lush rainforest. Gardeners will snap a photo of their creations with the game’s free-roaming in-game camera in order to unlock rare and exotic flowers. Along the way, My Garden players will also unlock more than 20 different abilities for Tanuki, who uses those attributes, plus a little magic, to help the garden reach its full potential.
Every gardener will have a bouquet of flowers and items to choose from in creating his or her own floral paradise. As new growth begins to push, the flora comes alive in a resplendent array of colors and textures, attracting natural garden visitors ranging from birds to butterflies, insects and other creatures. If a player wants a few more feathered friends in the garden, simply whistle bird calls into the Nintendo 3DS microphone to summon additional members of the flock. Alternatively, if too many unwanted visitors arrive at the garden gate, a quick shake of the Nintendo 3DS will send them scattering while also dispensing in-game coins that can be used to add a variety of new garden tools and more plants.
“My Garden” seems to be a great choice for EA and is looking quite promising. The title will be releasing as a launch title for the 3DS and be sure to check back as we will be bringing more information about My Garden as updates come out of the Tokyo Game Show. You can also check out EA’s new site for My Garden at www.ea.com/mygarden.
Here’s a new, absolutely crazy trailer for Catherine. The trailer shows more interaction between Vincent and Catherine. It also shows sheep-men wearing ties again, insane looking monsters, and yeah, boobs.
The trailer doesn’t give us a great sense of how the game will actually play, though it’s reported to be an “adult oriented” action adventure title. With the Persona team working on Catherine, it’s sure to be an interesting ride.
Catherine is scheduled to be released this Winter in Japan. Unfortunately, still no release date for any other territories.
As was stated yesterday, there is a new demo for NBA 2K11. From the demo, it appears that the game is smooth and well executed. Also, the visuals have definitely received an upgrade. The full game features moments from Michael Jordan’s career such as the 1992 playoff game where Jordan scored 6 three pointers in the first half. This video showcases some elements that will hopefully draw the player into the full NBA experience even more. There is also a link from 2K Sports to show off Michael Jordan’s mad skills and air worthiness. NBA 2K11 will release in Australia on October 8th,2010 and in the United States on October 5th, 2010 for PC, PS3, Xbox 360, PSP and Wii.. Enjoy!
