Network Providers Block Google TV

If it isn’t  one thing, then it is another.  The Wall Street Journal has reported that ABC, CBS and NBC have all but banned episodes of their TV shows from being able to work on the Google TV.  Fox is yet undecided about its next move, while Hulu has been against Google TV from Day 1.  Google is currently in negotiations to restore functionality, however, these will likely end up in advertising or premium plan deals. Their official quote on the matter is, “Google TV enables access to all the Web content you already get today on your phone and PC, but it is ultimately the content owners‘ * choice to restrict their fans from accessing their content on the platform.”  Although previous workarounds are currently unsuccessful, I am sure that someone will find something to get it to work again.  It seems that no matter how hard networks and companies try, the people are always just waiting to show them up.  It is odd that so many of these corporations don’t just embrace the digital age, rather than fighting it.  After all, quite a few of these people who “hack” or jailbreak items merely want to use the company’s own product, and said company is basically fighting itself.  How do you feel about the Google TV and the networks?

On November 2, 2010, EA will release Clean Sweep, a free multiplayer elimanation mode.  Your own skills and teamwork are said to be key to success in elimination.  The new mode can be played on the new maps entitled Bagram Hangar and Khyber Caves, as well as the redesigned  Diwagal Camp and Kabul City Ruins.  This DLC will be on Xbox 360 and PS3, IF you bought a NEW copy of the game and redeemed the online pass.

Tony Hawk Shred on the Today Show

Tony Hawk Ride

Dreams are awesome.  They inspire and motivate.  Tony Hawk fulfilled his dreams, and he wants to share how he did it.  Also,  Al Roker is riding a fake skateboard.  Shred actually looks pretty cool and it looks like maybe there is avatar support, not to mention improvements to last year’s Tony Hawk game.  Tony Hawk: Shred releases on Xbox 360, Wii and PS3 October 26, 2010.  It will include snowboarding and skateboarding all in one rad package.  Does Al fall?  How many copies did Ride really sell? Is the sequel still $120?  All will be revealed if you watch this video (except that last bit.  Shred costs a measly $100.)  Hopefully Shred can persuade me to like it this year.

Call of Duty Black Ops Stolen

Yes you’ve heard right, someone has stolen multiple copies of the new Call of duty!

Only 10 copies was stolen but still that’s 10 too many, to make matters worse they have been sold!

One of the new owners is Unholy Leaker, Unholy leaker is known for his Halo: Reach leak which was distributed through torrent sites, But there is good news to this, all websites are turning down any info about call of duty black ops which range from campaign to the highly anticipated zombies.

Treyarch are currently hunting down those responsible for stealing those copies of CoD: BO

Sonic Free Riders will break your back

Most of the time a new game will break your bank, but in this case it will just be breaking your back. For some reason, the video seems to emphasize some matrix like moves that shouldn’t even be humanly possible. Only Neo could possibly pull some of this off.

Check out the video below to see for yourself, and make sure to increase your insurance if you plan to buy this Kinect Launch title.

Rock Band 3 Pro Guitar Mode Video

If you thought playing the original Rock Band Guitar was hard, you are going to die when you see Pro mode for the Guitar. Even with the video, it all seems way to complicated. On the bright side you’ll supposedly be able to play a real guitar afterwards. Once you memorize all the strings of course…

Check out the video below to see for yourself.

Golden Sun: Dark Dawn Gets a New Trailer…

In just a bit over a month, the highly anticipated Golden Sun: Dark Dawn will finally arive for the Nintendo DS. Honestly, Dark Dawn is looking beautiful graphics wise and the gameplay is sure to be on par with other RPGs on the market. In the new trailer Nintendo released today, we get to see some of the gameplay as well as what appears to be some of the in-game cutscenes. All seem to flow nicely and should keep anyone anticipating the game held over for just a little longer. Dark Dawn also mixes new elements of gameplay with the classic formula to make the reboot of the franchise feel even more fresh.

In a new twist on gameplay, Dark Dawn includes the ability to respond with different emotional reactions to various scenarios in the game, with your choice of emotion having an impact on the replies you receive from other characters you meet. If you choose a “gutsy” reply for Matthew during a tense moment, other characters may get annoyed that you’re not taking the situation seriously. Choose an “angry” reply, though, and you might find that they respond confrontationally in turn…The whole method is brilliant and should give the game’s story many twists and turns throughout the experience.

Below you can check out this brand new trailer and get ready for one of the biggest sequels of the year to hit shelves as Golden Sun: Dark Dawn launches on November 29th.

THQ’s Kinect project is Fantastic Pets

THQ has just announced that they are developing Fantastic Pets for the Xbox 360 and the Kinect. Working with Blitz Games, THQ is looking to bring fantastical pets to players in the form of a pet raising game that allows palyers to interact with their pets, train them, take care of them and even more.

You may at first start out with your standard pet, such as a cat or a horse, or even a lizard. But then you can morph them into something amazing, such a dragon or a unicorn. Using the Kinect’s technology players will be able to talk to their animals and give them commands similar to Kinectimals.

THQ’s Martin Good has been quoted saying:

“As you discover your pet’s personality and become enmeshed within the world, Fantastic Pets becomes more like a personalized adventure and less like a game.”

As this is the initial announcement for the game, we have little to go off of other than a proposed release date sometime in March of 2011.

NBA JAM features online play

NBA Jam, formerly a pack in with a full purchase of NBA Elite 11, will now be available for purchase at a retail $50 price tag on Xbox 360 and PS3.  So, what do you get for your extra $50?

Online play will feature 2v2 player action right out of the box.  Remix mode and Classic mode are also available at launch, though only in single player form.  In December, a title update will reveal local and online game modes like: Backboard Smash, Domination Free-for-All, Elimination, and 21.  Party Jam will will enable 3 friends to play along.  Online Progression will also rear its beautiful head by enabling players to progressively unlock stuff online (Obama?)

Trey Smith, Creative Director of NBA JAM said, “We have listened to our NBA JAM fans and appreciate their desire to play this game online, so we are going to deliver the online feature set they expect and deserve.  Fans will be able to play Classic JAM online right out of the box, and can expect to enjoy features like Team-up, Remix Online, Jam Party, Online Progression, and even more secret players and teams, in December.”

You ready to get Jamming online? Or is there a $50 dollar size hole in your heart?

Parasite Eve series coming to the PSN

Remember the good ol’ days when Square Enix was just Squaresoft and then Enix? Well a blast from the past is coming back as Square Enix’s Tetsuya Nomura tweeted on The 3rd Birthday’s Twitter that they would be bringing previous Parasite Eve games back as PSN Classics. Though this has not yet been announced for a worldwide release, because Tetsuya Nomura works for the Japanese wing of Square Enix, one can assume that an international release will follow.

Especially towards US release, as it has been many years since I had the chance to play Parasite Eve. The last time I placed my disc inside the Playstation it gave me the unplayable disc error. So the chance to have full digital access to one of my favorite horror games for the PS1 would bring back so many memories.

There was no word exactly as to whether or not both games of the Parasite Eve series will be made available for Classic download, or if it will just be the first game. This is no doubt a great marketing move on their part as the third game of the series The 3rd Birthday will be making its way to shelves in December for Japan and sometime in the early part of 2011 in the West.
