Dr. Mike explains Swarm!
UTV Ignition and Hothead Games, the creators of the upcoming Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network game Swarm have released the first installment of ‘Ask Dr. Mike’, a developer video series explaining to players how they’ll control their ‘swarm’ of small blue Swarmites as you control them through (often) suicidal puzzles and hilariously brutal environment. Swarm is the first game to feature mass character control, where players move all the Swarmites at once in a puzzle adventure game. In the video, Dr. Mike shows off how to jump, group up, huddle and even stack and bash your 50 Swarmites together through the game.
And trust him, He’s a doctor.

Kinect Hacker Turns Hadoukens into Reality…
The Kinect sold like crazy during the holidays and while the technology is interesting and fun, it seems hackers have been tapping into the full potential of the unit. The latest comes a video originally posted over at Shoryuken.com in which a hacker under the name of demize2010 uploaded a video of himself playing Street Fighter with a Kinect. Now it isn’t the most thrilling video to watch as he is not doing chun-li spinkicks or anything like that, but each time he extends his arms, Ken on the screen throws out a Hadouken so this is a very impressive use of the device.
As you can tell by the video, this is mainly just a test run but it is interesting to see just how broad the range of titles the Kinect could be if Microsoft and other developers actually give it a try. Throw in that nunchuck lack controller to actually move that this guy has, and yes, I could very much see myself purchasing a Street Fighter Kinect title. Check out the video for yourself and let us know in the comments section what games you would like to see Kinect-ified.

Hudson’s 3DS Line-up Reveals New Bomberman, Deca Sports & More…
Along with the many other companies jumping on the 3DS’ line-up is Hudson, who are bringing some their most popular titles to Nintendo’s handheld. Three titles have now been named by Hudson at being their first entries into the 3D Market. It comes at no surprise that Bomberman & Deca sports will be joining the line-up, but Hudson will also be publishing the first Brain training title as well for the 3DS. Let’s now take a look at all three of these brand new titles…
DECA SPORTS EXTREME will feature 10 3D sports: Soccer, Tennis, Basketball, Ice Hockey, Snowball Fight, Sumo Wrestling, Bowling, Snowmobile Racing, Sport Blowgun and Trampoline. Players can collect power-ups throughout each event to unleash powerful special moves such as a giant racket in tennis, a cannon dunk in basketball, or a rainbow shot in soccer. Compatible with up to four players through download or wireless play, DECA SPORTS EXTREME allows players to customize teams and choose from various venues. DECA SPORTS EXTREME will be available on the Nintendo 3DS Summer 2011 and is not yet rated.
Bomberman (working title) brings the “Blue Bomber” into eye-popping 3D with its world-famous multiplayer and an immersive single-player adventure. Players can navigate beautifully designed arenas and take in the sights of Central City. Bomberman takes full advantage of the revolutionary Nintendo 3DS to provide long-standing or existing and new Bomberman fans with a 3D gaming blast . Bomberman will be available Fall 2011. Rating pending.
Nikoli’s Pencil Puzzle (working title) is the first brain-training game for the Nintendo 3DS. Gamers can engage their minds with four challenging puzzle games including Sudoku, Hashiwokakero, Shikaku, and Akari to invigorate the mind! From world-famous puzzle maker Nikoli, Pencil Puzzle brings fan favorite puzzles to players’ finger tips. Nikoli’s Pencil Puzzle will be available Fall 2011. Rating pending.
“Hudson is thrilled to be at the leading edge of 3D gaming with three new games for the revolutionary Nintendo 3DS,” said Greg Suarez, SVP of Sales & Marketing at Hudson Entertainment. “The gaming industry is abuzz with high hopes and expectations for the Nintendo 3DS, and these games have been specially developed to utilize the system to the fullest.
Hudson have experience with portable gaming so I am confident these three titles will just be the beginning it what we see from the developer. After enjoying Lost in Shadow as much as I did, maybe we will eventually see a sequel/prequel come into the mix later down the line, there is no doubt it would certainly fit in perfectly with the 3D technology, but for now I am thrilled to see Hudson showing some love to the console with some of their best selling franchises.
Stacking is priced, dated, and gets a video
Stacking – Double Fine’s most recent puzzler is based upon stacking Russian matryoshka dolls. The game revolves around the world’s smallest stacking doll, Charlie Blackmore, who must work his way through a bizarre 1930’s open-world setting, jumping into larger dolls to assume their personalities and solve a variety of puzzles.
Stacking seems like another enjoyable game from the same guys who brought you Brütal Legend and Costume Quest.
Stacking has been priced and dated for XBLA. The game currently has a release date of February 9th and a price of 1200 Microsoft Points. Check out the debut trailer below for a small taste of what is to come.

Yakuza 4 Gets Dated & a Hard Hitting Trailer…
Sega officially update the “Spring” release date on the much anticipated Yakuza 4 for the Playstation 3 to March 15, 2011 (March 18th for the U.K.) today. This date of course should set well with fans eagerly waiting to jump back into the shoes of Kazuma Kiryu yet again as it is just a little under two months away. With the date, a new trailer has also came out of the shadows that shows off not only the four main characters, but the intense battles and fighting mechanics that players will be able to execute.
The four men profiled in the trailer, Masayoshi Tanimura, Shun Akiyama,Taiga Saejima & Kazuma Kiryu will all of course be playable and judging by the trailer, each bring a distinct trait to the table when in combat. Each will also have their own missions which must be completed to gain the 100% mark in the game, so this Yakuza title just may be the biggest yet. Check out the new trailer below and mark your calenders for what may be the true return of the Yakuza series.
