Bloodrayne Betrayal Sinks it’s teeth into the PSN today; XBLA tomorrow!

The time has finally come for the return of Rayne in Majesco and Wayforward’s Bloodrayne Betrayal. Today officially marks the release of the PSN version, which means those with the console can log in and download the full game as of now with the Xbox Live Arcade version launching tomorrow. Both of these releases will be priced nearly the same for both platforms, with the bloody side-scroller being priced at $14.99 for the PSN, and 1200 points for the XBLA.

Now if you have by chance been living under a rock and haven’t heard of Bloodrayne Betrayal as of yet, this game puts players in the role of the world-famous Dhampir Rayne as she infiltrates a secluded castle to put a stop to an evil master’s sinister plot. The last time Wayforward and Majesco got together for a re-imagining, we seen the simply delightful Boy and His Blob hit the Wii. While that title is far away from that with the over-the-top hack and slash action we see here (I really doubt there is a “hug” button”, the quality and retro vibe that have been displayed thus far have made Bloodrayne Betrayal shape up to be one of the most anticipated and promising downloadable titles to come out this year. So go! Download! Make a bloody mess, and keep an eye out for our review which is coming soon.

Gamestop giving “The Glass Slipper” as Pre-Order Bonus for Supremacy MMA!

There is a good chance if you read the heading on this article, you might be a bit confused as glass slippers really don’t mesh too well with the upcoming Supremacy MMA. The Glass Slipper is actually a strip club though which will act as an extra level for players to beat eachother’s brains out in. This level will only be available to those who pre-order at Gamestop locations and will also offer up some roster expansion in the form of undefeated Strikeforce icon Shane Del Rosario.

This “slipper” seems to be a perfect fit for the brutal MMA title, and with the lovely dancers in the background there is sure to be many who house this area as their fighting setting of choice. With that said, there is only two weeks left until Supremacy MMA knocks it’s way out on to the PS3 and Xbox 360 (September 20th, to be exact), so it would be a good idea to run out and lock in a pre-order while this promotion is still active. You can see both Rosario and the new location on full display in a brand new trailer that 505 released earlier today down below.

Latest Blades of Time trailer details game mechanics plus time-rewind

Earlier today Konami released a new video that details all of the different game mechanics that players will be using when Blades of Time is released next year. There is of course your standard fighting with a sword and gun but also you can see a number of other features as well, namely the time-rewind that players will be using.

Time-rewind is going to be used for puzzle mechanics as well as for combat, as you can see in the trailer below. The time-rewind ability allows players to make clones of Ayumi and allow her to fight alongside herself against stronger enemies such as a boss. While Gaijin Entertainment is still at the helm for Blades of Time, it is not a sequel to X-Blades but more of a completely separate title with the relatively same looking and same named heroine Ayumi.

One Piece Musou gets a screenshot; docks onto PS3s next year

For those wondering just what One Piece Musou is going to look like, you won’t have to wonder anymore. A screenshot for the title has been released and can be seen above. The screenshot itself shows everyone’s favorite rubber captain Monkey D. Luffy about to take down a small cluster of marines.

Also revealed was that the game would be released sometime in 2012 only on the PlayStation 3. The title will likely play similar to past Dynasty Warrior styled games where players will face hundreds and thousands of enemies like the ones shown above. More information will be available next week as Namco Bandai plans on debuting the title at Tokyo Game Show.

Dead Island Map App is a cheat sheet for collectibles

If you are wandering around in the world of Dead Island then you should know that the game has quite a large map to navigate. Of course there are maps online you could look at but how about a bite sized map that sits right on your iPhone. Also how about if that map showed the locations of all different kinds of collectibles in the game, ranging from audio diaries, ID cards and Banoi Herald journals.

The app is going to cost $2.99 which unfortunately seems a bit pricey, but the map is certainly a handy little tool that makes for uninterruptable gameplay. Of course, when the location of the collectibles is posted online it may take away from the value significantly. Either way though you can download the map app here.

Dead Nation takes you on the “Road of Devastation”

Dead Nation may have been released nearly a year ago but it most recently landed on some peoples’ radars. It was one of the games available for free due to the PlayStation Network downtime and the subsequent “Welcome Back” program, and now fans of the game that many obtained for free may be getting some new content to go along with their game.

Housemarque and Sony have said that over 3.8 million people have killed over 11.7 billion zombies, and now the popular title is go down the “Road of Devastation” in the newly announced DLC. The game will include a number of new tools and pieces of equipment that will help players face down new enemies and unique environments. Players will wake up in a lab after being genetically modified to create an ultimate soldier. Outside of the lab players will find “a crossroads leading to three different paths, each with their own unique environments, challenges and enemies waiting for you.” Currently no date nor a price was announced, though expect one in the future.

The DLC is named the “Survival Pack” and will be available on October 4th. The package will add the Invasion Mode to Resistance 3 and include a number of player skins as well as a basic XMB theme for only $3.99.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution “The Missing Link” DLC announced for October release

Square Enix has had a small puzzle going on involving Deus Ex: Human Revolution and it appears that they have decided to shed a little light on what the puzzle contains. Today Square Enix announced that “The Missing Link” DLC will be released in October and bring with it a number of new environments, characters and some extra narrative to go with the game’s already stellar story.

The Missing Link DLC will take place near the end of the game’s storyline and fill in a three day gap in story where Adam happened to drop off the radar where nobody knew where he was. The content will reveal new information about the conspiracies, though for those who have beaten the game, nothing has been said if they will need to start over to access the DLC or not. Expect more information soon as Square Enix promised updates soon.
