Halo: Spartan Assault Console Release Date Detailed

Last time we had heard about Halo: Spartan Assault was simply that it would be making the leap from Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 to consoles for both the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One. Unfortunately, Microsoft hadn’t revealed any exact release date back then, but the news today coming out on 343 Industries’ 343 Day has told us just that.

It looks like 343 Industries and Vanguard Games will be giving gifts just a bit early as Halo: Spartan Assault will be going live onto Xbox One on December 24th, 2013, though anyone that hasn’t made the console switch will be forced to wait another month before it releases onto Xbox 360.

Those wanting to check out the twin-stick shooter action of Halo: Spartan Assault will be able to download it for the Xbox One for $14.99, but as a bonus treat to those that have purchased the previous Windows 8 version before December 15th will be able to get at a reduced price of $4.99. Though pricing or similar discount information has not been given yet for the Xbox 360 version.

Assassin’s Creed IV Blackbeard’s Wrath DLC Coming this Week

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag has had a fantastic release and has been seeing some pretty good review scores, but since it has been out for sometime Ubisoft has gotten its Multiplayer DLC ready for release this week. The DLC, titled “Blackbeard’s Wrath” will be adding in 3 new characters to the multiplayer experience of Black Flag for players to utilize.

Including the dread pirate Blackbeard himself with his twin cutlasses, the Orchid a Chinese military adviser during the Quing Dynasty with her katana, and the Jaguar an Aztec warrior from Mexico named Cuali that makes short work of his foes with his axe. Those wanting to see what these killers will look like going at it in multiplayer can check out the new screenshots release by clicking on the images in the gallery below.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is available now for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U, Xbox One, PS4, PC, but “Blackbeard’s Wrath” will be releasing on Tuesday for Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC, then on Wednesday for PS3 and PS4, with no word of it coming to Wii U.

Thief Looking to Offer More Insight with Mobile Companion App

Thief is looking to give players plenty to think about, with all the planning going into heists and avoiding the guards, so Square Enix and Eidos-Montreal are planning themselves to offer a way for players to access and utilize information from the game with the companion app they have on the way. From maps and digital comics, to personal stats and an Official wiki, the companion app will be chock-full of useful info.

While the full app wont be coming out until the Thief officially releases, a lite version will be coming out later this month, which will let players access character bios, trailers, artwork, and screenshots. But, when it is up to the full version the information it will provide is sure to be invaluable. Thief, and the full version of the companion app, is set to release February 2014 for the Xbox 360, PS3, Xbox One, PS4, and PC.

Space Dandy game announced, based on Galaga

The first video-game adaptation of the upcoming Space Dandy anime has just been announced. Namco Bandai are looking to reinvent the legendary Galaga series in the style of Space Dandy. The game is set to be titled Space Galaga.

Space Galaga is slated to release for free on iOS and Android devices in 2014. The game features Space Dandy characters and aliens in what looks to be a rip-roaring good time. It will surely be the perfect companion video-game for the Space Dandy anime series which is slated to begin airing in January 2014.

Ubisoft brought Tom Clancy’s The Division to this year’s VGX. They released a trailer to demonstrate the power of Snowdrop, the brand new engine that the game is built on. The trailer shows off the impressive lighting effects, particle system, and shaders that will create realistic weather and time of day effects. The visual effects seek to replicate lighting effects usually only seen in film.

Tom Clancy’s The Division follows a team called the Strategic Homeland Division after a deadly virus sweeps through New York City on Black Friday. The city is thrown into chaos as order breaks down and anarchy reigns. The Division will be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows.

Time Traveling Raiden Will Appear Exclusively on Xbox in Metal Gear Solid 5 Ground Zeroes

Konami has unveiled that Raiden will be a playable character in Metal Gear Solid 5 Ground Zeroes in a new trailer.

The cyborg ninja will appear in a mission entitled ‘Jamais Vu’ exclusively to Xbox. Sorry PlayStation owners, at least you get your own exclusive ‘Déjà vu’ mission, along with a classic Solid Snake skin.

The new trailer shows off some familiar gameplay, as we last saw Raiden in his own spin-off title Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. Although his performance in Metal Gear Solid 5 Ground Zeroes wills not be as frantic or as fast-paced as seen in Metal Gear Rising.

The trailer also ends with another reveal; Metal Gear Solid 5 Ground Zeroes will be released on March 18 2014 for PlayStation 3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.

David Goldfarb Joins Hand of Fate as Guest Designer

RPG Hand of Fate announced that David Goldfarb (Battlefield 3, PayDay 2) will be joining Ian Livingstone, OBE and Rob Conningham as guest developers. The three will be designing unique events in the game.

Hand of Fate is an upcoming rogue-like RPG with trading card game mechanics. Player’s decks will create the dungeon to be explored, randomizing the encounters. The game is currently on Kickstarter and on Steam Greenlight. Their crowdfunding campaign has reached 80% of their funding goal with three days left in the campaign. The alpha will begin next week, with the beta planned for 2014. All Kickstarter backers who pledge $50 or more will receive access to the alpha. Beta access begins at $25.00.

February will see the launch of The Lego Movie Videogame – the game based on the movie, based on the toys that we all know and love. Warner Bros’ Lego Movie takes all the concepts we have grown to love from the Lego franchise, and brings back the wonder and amazement of building objects with the colourful bricks.
