DECEPTION IV: BLOOD TIES RECEIVES OFFICIAL LAUNCH DATE

DECEPTION IV: BLOOD TIES RECEIVES OFFICIAL LAUNCH DATE

BURLINGAME, Calif. – JANUARY 17, 2014 – TECMO KOEI America announced today that the upcoming title DECEPTION IV: BLOOD TIES will launch in North America on March 25, 2014 for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and the PlayStation®Vita handheld entertainment system.

In this imaginative follow up to the classic Tecmo title ‘Tecmo’s Deception’, first released in 1996 on the PlayStation®, players get a taste of what it’s like to play on the side of evil. Much like its predecessors, DECEPTION IV: BLOOD TIES is a strategy-focused action game revolving around a deceitful main character known as the Devil’s daughter who, assisted by three Demons, defeats her foes through trickery.

DECEPTION IV: BLOOD TIES follows the story of Laegrinna, an animated fragment of an imprisoned Devil’s soul, as she battles her enemies by mischievously luring them into strategically placed traps. From rolling boulders and spiked walls to spring boards, iron maidens, human cannons, falling bathtubs and banana peels, the player can choose from a multitude of dramatic, sadistic, and comical traps in order to finish off an enemy.

However, simply setting traps is not enough, as they need to be activated in turn. Timing also plays an important role, as an untimely activation could result in Laegrinna falling into her own trap or allowing her rivals to catch her. Depending on the manner in which an enemy is killed or captured, the Devil’s three servants – Veruza, Caelea and Lilia (each representing a different aspect of cruelty: Sadistic Torment, Elaborate Death and Humiliating Demise) – reward points and upgraded traps.

Those playing the PlayStation®3 version of DECEPTION IV: BLOOD TIES will be able to upload their combos online or challenge other players to beat their highest-scoring, funniest, or most sadistic combos.

The PlayStation®Vita version boasts additional features, like Cross Play and Cross Saves between PS3/ PSVITA and touch-screen functions to select and activate traps.

DECEPTION IV: BLOOD TIES is produced by the creator of Fatal Frame, Keisuke Kikuchi and developed by Tecmo Koei. The franchise as a whole has sold more than 800,000 copies globally. Mario Party: Island Tour Available Tomorrow

It is only January, and Nintendo is about to drop one of the biggest 3DS games of the year on us. Get ready to button up your overalls, throw on a cap with your initial on it, and roll the dice in Mario Party: Island Tour. The latest installment in the great party game (also read: friendship destroyer) will be available both in-store and as a download through Nintendo’s eShop from January 18th. No matter if you are a Mario party veteran or a newbie to the series, there is something for you to enjoy – with over 7 new game boards and 80 mini-games.

martio-party-island-tour-screenshot-01

mario-party-island-tour-boxart-01Each of the Game’s 7 boards will feature a unique and different play style, including different win conditions. For example, Banzai Bill’s Mad Mountain has you making risky moves in the hope that they will pay off and get you to the top of the mountain before your friends… and before the Banzai Bills get to you. If that isn’t your cup of tea, then you can tune up your rocket boosters and blast your way to the front of the pack in Rocket Road. Mario Party: Island Tour is all about you. It is your party and you can choose how you play. If you don’t want to play the board game portion and just want to play mini-games then you are free to do so in a specific mode; Minigame Mayhem.

The game’s 80 minigames feature a combination of traditional Mario Party games and some more specific ones that make use of the 3DS features like the microphone in Soundalike Star Show, where you try to impersonate favourite Nintendo characters, while in Ready, Aim, Fuzzy! you use motion controls to target your bow and arrow and try to take out as many Fuzzies as possible. The game also makes use of the AR Cards that came included with your 3DS console for some minigames, like  a tower that you need to physically move 360° around to see all the obstacles so you can climb it, or play against others to attack a mass of waddling Goombas; all of which appear before your eyes in augmented reality on your Nintendo 3DS system.

mario-party-island-tour-screenshot-02

You can play Mario Party on your own, and doing so gives you some unique game play experiences, like  Bowser’s Tower mode, which challenges you to reach the top as you try your hand at minigames of ever-increasing difficulty: succeed to advance up one floor, else it’s game over. There are even boss battles unique to this mode, such as a fight against a stack of Goombas, with plenty more colourful challenges on your way to the top. While playing solo will still be a lot of fun,  everyone knows that the key to a good party game is…well… multiplayer. One of the most exciting features is the fact that you can play with up to three friends wirelessly with a single game cartridge. So you can play all of the game’s content with a bunch of friends and only one of you needs to buy the game!

mario-party-island-tour-screenshot-03

So as you can see, Mario Party: Island Tour has a LOT of content and is available TOMORROW both in-stores and through the Nintendo eShop. Will you be rolling the dice and picking up the latest iteration of Nintendo’s best party game franchise, or are you still busy planting flowers in Animal Crossing? Let us know in the comments below and always remember to stay tuned to Capsule Computers for all the Mario Party news as it becomes available.

Rockstar Target GTA Online Cheaters

GTA-Online-Artwork-03

It has come to Rockstar‘s attention over the last couple weeks that a small number of GTA Online players have attempted to exploit the game. Those in question generated and distributed game-breaking amounts of in-game cash, but maintenance done earlier today has stabilised the game. The developer are in the process of removing all of the counterfeit currency, and updates to further repair what negative impact these actions have had on the experience will continue.

It is important to note that anyone who received GTA$ as a result of this incident will not be penalised, although the funds will be removed. It’ll be a different story for those who willfully engaged in these disruptive activities, as they will be punished at Rockstar’s discretion. The exact punishments are being determined as we speak, with the possibilities of placing the culprits in isolated cheater pools, or banning them from GTA Online entirely, being considered. Rockstar has requested that any players who encounter suspicious goings-on alert them directly by way of the in-game reporting functionality. To do this, enter the Online tab in the Pause menu, select “Players” and scroll to find the offending player. From there, choose “Report” and then “Exploits” from the violation options.
