Bloodstroke Coming to the App Store

Bloodstroke-Title-01
Paint the town red

It would seem that filmmaker John Woo (Face/Off, Mission Impossible II) has decided to make a little foray into the world of gaming. Teaming up with Chillingo, Moonshark Inc, Chukong Technologies, Chimera Entertainment (who previously worked on Hoppetee) and Tiger Hill Entertainment (co-founded by Woo himself) the director makes his debut with the black, white and red action title: Bloodstroke.

Step into the boots of Phalanx’s Elite Private Security Agent, Mai Lee – codenamed Lotus, as she shoots and slices her way through the streets of Hong Kong and Beijing to ensure the safety of her first assignment.

  • ANY MEANS NECESSARY – Protect Dr. Koorse at all costs! Draw enemy fire and use a selection of lethal melee weapons and guns to keep gangsters, snipers and katana-wielding bikers from assassinating your client.
  • PAINT THE TOWN RED – Equip Lotus with an arsenal of deadly blades and firearms. Cut down your foes using dual chackrams and blow them away with grenade launchers and shotguns to decorate the streets of China with red ink.
  • ARTISTIC ACTION – Blending traditional brushstroke visuals with John Woo’s signature balletic violence, Bloodstroke is authentically presented with distinct graphics and sleek comic book panel cut-scenes that unravel into a compelling tale of betrayal.

The game will also receive an original soundtrack provided by Far East Movement, to add a little music to the bloody experience. Can’t be killing in silence now can we? Bloodstroke is set to hit the App Store soon, so keep an eye out for more information as it comes to light. Until then, check out the screenshots and trailer below to prepare for a little artistic violence. There will be blood…a lot of it.

“Dead Island” Recognized For Its Contribution To The Development Of The Horror Genre

dead-island-riptide-review-03

Dead Island” is an action/horror game that takes place on a tropical island though that particular island has been overrun with zombies, you play as one of the four main characters who must travel throughout the entire island while trying not to get killed in the hopes that you’ll find a way off of the damn rock and back to civilisation, though…is it just the island that has been overrun? Today marks the beginning of the “Russian Annual Horror Film Awards” where countless horror movie writers and directors are awarded for their contribution to the sub-genre/industry much like any other awards events.

It seems as though “Dead Island” has already gotten a lot of recognition at this year’s awards with the general populous considering it as a game that contributed extensively to the horror genre in general which is quite an accolade for a title to have earned. Techland’s game designer Maciej Binkowski will now join many others of his calibre as he accepts the award for contribution and development while also adding his hand prints to the walk of fame in Moscow’s cinema Baltica alongside names like Dmitry Glukhovsky who is the author of the “Metro 2033” and “Metro 2034” books. Congratulations “Dead Island“!
