Sony has announced that they are planning on bringing Freedom Wars, a game announced back in 2013 for Japan, to North America sometime in 2014. Currently the game is still being developed by Dimps and Shift but to help hype up Vita owners, Sony has released two trailers for the game which can be found below.
As for the game itself, Freedom Wars will offer co-operative online combat with up to eight players, an extensive amount of character customization, cities to battle for, and a blend of action, shooter, and strategy all in one.
Last week we learned the first details for Hyperdimension Neptunia U which is going to be a spin-off of the main series and will be an action title developed by Tamsoft. Now today the online store AmiAmihas updated with a listing for the game and with this listing comes a number of screenshots for the game which show off Neptune, Noire, Vert, and Blanc fighting against some of the basic enemies players come across in the game.
You will also notice in one of these screenshots Neptune has transformed into Purple Heart and is fighting against the enemies in that form. Currently Hyperdimension Neptunia U is set to be released in Japan on August 28th for the PlayStation Vita and a Western release has not been announced at this point.
Today Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has passed a major milestone as they now have two million user accounts registered worldwide. This news comes shortly on the heels of the game’s official release on the PlayStation 4 which has not only opened up the game to a number of new players but also made A Realm Reborn the first MMO on a next-gen console.
This now means that the game is available for purchase on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC and anyone who wishes to purchase the game can do so for $39.99 on the PS4 while the other two versions cost $29.99. The purchase will include a thirty day free trial and then there will be a monthly subscription fee of $12.99 after that trial has passed.
You may remember that last year Viz Media had acquired the license for Suisei no Gargantia and although they haven’t announced a release date yet for the series, they have done something to make the anime easier for fans to find. Today the company has placed all thirteen episodes of Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet on Neon Alley in their subtitled form.
This means that the episodes can be viewed for free from the company’s websiteor if you are a member of Hulu Plus then you can view them through any device that supports Hulu. While a bit rudimentary in storytelling, Gargantia was the best looking shows last year and follows the story of Ledo, a soldier from space who suddenly finds himself stuck on an ocean planet where humanity lives a peaceful life aboard a series of large ships. Knowing only war, Ledo must learn the ways of these people all while trying to find out how he might be able to return home.
In what will be a delight to quite a few people I know, Sentai Filmworks has announced that they have acquired the license for last year’s Love Lab anime adaptation. The series was previously only available through Crunchyroll and while the episodes are still available on the service, fans of the series will soon be able to own the series on home video. At the moment Sentai Filmworks has not announced a release window or whether or not they plan on giving the anime an English dub.
For those who don’t know, Love Lab was a rather hilarious comedy that takes place at an all girls middle school where after the tomboyish Riko says that she is “popular with the boys” is asked by the seemingly perfect student council president Maki to teach her all about love so she can find the man of her dreams. The only problem is, Riko has absolutely no experience with guys but how can she ruin her new friendship especially since Maki is ready to perform all different kinds of experiments to find love.

It has just been revealed that the upcoming One Piece action/adventure port “Unlimited World Red” will feature a brand-new game mode, one of which hosts four other sub-game modes for players to enjoy, adding extras hours of content to an already content-filled title.
It was just announced via Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump that the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita and Wii U version of the game will all feature this new game mode titled “Battle Colosseum” which will allow players to choose from four different game types; “Battle Royale”, Duel, Boss Rush, and Chaos Battle. “Battle Royale” allows more than two players to jump into the ring for an all out brawl to see who is truly the strongest. “Duel” allows two players to go head to head on the battlefield for a grudge match to end all grudge matches.
“Boss Rush” plays in a very traditional way with the game throwing countless bosses at you to defeat until you are taken down. “Chaos Battle” works similar to how the Colosseum is portrayed in the “One Piece” series; there’s plenty of enemies to fight in a small space and you have to take them out. Fighting in this mode will earn you points which you can use to unlock new story missions.
Developed by “Ganbarion” and published by “Namco Bandai Games“, “One Piece: Unlimited World Red” is set for a release on the PlayStation 3, the PlayStation Vita and the Wii U in Japan on the 12th of June with its release for North America, Europe and Australia coming later in the year.
Note: We will also receive the game on the Nintendo 3DS which Japan already got late last year.
A week or so ago news was released regarding the character addition of “Shisui Uchiha” into the upcoming Naruto fighting game; “Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution“. Avid fans of the Naruto and Naruto Shippuden series’ will know Shisui but it is understandable if some don’t seeing as he wasn’t exactly showcased within the story outside of a small flashback which didn’t explain everything it could about the character.
Basically Shisui was the best friend of Itachi and another member of the Uchiha clan who, when the time came for it, gave up his vision, power and (eventually) his life. Uchiha – taking his eyes along with his “Sharingan” abilities – was then able to become the strong shinobi e all know and love but…what IF Shisui survived? What if HE was able to raise to greatness and become a powerful Uchiha ninja?
The upcoming action title will feature a small storyline revolving around Shisui so it’s only natural that the game developers would try to make him as formidable as possible…and that’s exactly what they’ve done. A design for Shisui’s very own “Susanoo” – a great power that high-level Uchiha ninjas can unlock – has been released and will feature within the game as a power-up for Shisui in-battle.
The design – created by Masashi Kishimoto himself – is unique to Shisui and will prove quite destructive on the battlefield. Set for a release in Japan sometime this fall, the game will be available on both the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3. Unfortunately there’s been no exact release date for the West but it is safe to assume it wouldn’t be too long after that.
Start up indie developers Grimm Bros has reached the end of their successful Kickstarter campaign. The five-person development team is proud to announce that they were able to raise almost five times more than they asked for to complete their RPGDragon Fin Soup. The team raised $119,719 from 4044 backers in a span of thirty days.
Dragon Fin Soup is an adult re-imagination of classic childhood fairy tales such as Red Riding Hood. Players will follow Red Robin, an alcoholic bounty hunter who is unable to remember her past as she explores the world, which is located on the back of a dragon-turtle god named Asura. Dragon Fin Soup is a turned based RPG inspired by classic SNES RPGs and rogue-like games. Thanks to the extra funding raised on Kickstarter, Dragon Fin Soup will have both a story mode and a survival mode.
Dragon Fin Soup will be released on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita in 2014. The game has been successfully Greenlit on Steam and can be pre-ordered for $15 at the official Dragon Fin Soup website.
