Soulcalibur: Lost Swords now available on the PlayStation 3

SoulCalibur-Lost-Swords-Screenshot-13

If you were to go check the PlayStation Store today you may have noticed that Soulcalibur: Lost Swords has been made available for download. Well today Bandai Namco has released the free-to-play game onto the PlayStation 3. The game allows players to battle against various foes and earn items and weapons to customize their fighter.

It is worth noting that the game is similar to Tekken Revolution as it will require the player to either wait for their energy to recharge between battles or spend money to accelerate the process. Being a single player game only, there is no versus mode in Soulcalibur: Lost Swords but players can choose to upload their character for other players to download and assist them in battles as an ally.

Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment heading to North America in Summer

Now this is some surprising news. I mean considering the Sword Art Online anime was popular enough to be shown on television in North America and both the original light novels and manga are being translated into English, Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment didn’t seem to have a chance at being localized. Well, turns out that Bandai Namco is doing just that.

Today the company has announced that they will be releasing the game as a downloadable title this Summer in North America for the PS Vita. The game allows players to play as Kirito, though they can change his looks and his name, and they will battle through the Aincrad tower starting at the 76th floor. Screenshots of the game can be found below and outside of battling enemies and bosses, players can also raise their relationships with the many heroines in the game.

With Jake the Dog and Finn the Human…wait

You read it right folks, the creator of the Kickstarter funded short Kick-Heart, and now director of the Ping Pong anime, Masaaki Yuasa  has turned his talents towards Western animation. An upcoming episode of Adventure Time, entitled Food Chain, was written, storyboarded and directed by Yuasa, adding his personal flair into an already bizarre series.

A sneak peek of the episode has been released, revealing that the episode will centre around Finn and Jake as they learn about the majesty of the food chain, with a little help from Magic Man…though wherever he’s concerned the word “help” is completely subjective.

So check out the video below and see what Yuasa adds to the world of Adventure Time. Seriously, check it out. It’s weird in an awesome sort of way…damn Magic Man.

Lethal Lance Set to Hit iOS Devices May 1st

Lethal-Lance-Screenshot-01
The name speaks for itself

Game developer LL Team and Bulkypix have banded together to create Lethal Lance, set to launch on May 1st for iOS devices. Reminiscent of old school platformers, a recurring theme nowadays (*cough* Mighty No. 9 *cough*), this game does include one small upgrade to the classic formula: a shotgun. Eviscerate your foes with this powerful weapon and carve yourself a path to the end of each of the 32 levels. With 4 environments altering the terrain, there’s plenty of opportunity to admire the scenery whilst blasting your enemies away. For those more competitive at heart, Lethal Lance will utilise the Game Center and allow players to compete with their friends.

So until May 1st rolls around, you’ll have to make do with the screenshots below. It’s not much, but it should get you excited for some gunslingin’ platformin’ adventures. I wish all side scrollers had shotguns…
