This is the first time that Earth Defense Force has been released onto the PlayStation 4 and it is a complete reimagining of Earth Defense Force 2025 as it features “silky smooth framerates, beefed-up graphics, and over 50% new content.” Players will be able to select from one of four unique playable classes and customize their weapons to take part in city-wide battles against hordes of giant bugs, robots, and other colossal enemies in a title that will support both local co-op and versus modes as well as online co-op.

LEGO games are coming out of the woodwork in droves this year aren’t they! Warner Bros. has LEGO Jurassic World coming next week and LEGO Dimensions coming at the tail end of the year, and of course filling in the gap in the middle is LEGO Marvel’s Avengers. Unlike the first LEGO Marvel Super Heroes game, LEGO Avengers will feature a story that is inspired by the hugely popular Marvel Cinematic Universe film franchise. Characters, themes and plot elements will be lifted straight from the films and brought into the world of LEGO for kids (and kids at heart) everywhere to enjoy all over again.

It feels a little weird to say this a week before E3, but we have a brand new trailer from the game to show off! You can check it out below and then let us know in the comments if you will be picking up LEGO Marvel’s Avengers or if LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is good enough for you. Remember to stay locked firmly onto Capsule Computers over the next couple of weeks as we share all of the exciting news E3 and the world of gaming in general.

Nozomi Entertainment Announces ‘Sketchbook ~full colors~’ DVD Release Date

Nozomi Entertainment has just revealed the release date for their upcoming release of the Sketchbook ~full colors~ anime on DVD in North America. The litebox DVD set will be available on September 1, 2015. It has a suggested retail price of $39.99 USD, but is currently available for pre-order here for just $23.99 USD.

The set will contain episodes 1-13 with Japanese Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo audio and English subtitles across three discs. On-disc extras will include Picture Dramas 1-6, the textless opening and ending animation, the promotional video, commercials and the “Dandelion Waterwheel” music video.

Nozomi provided a synopsis for the series:

See the world through Sora’s eyes!

No matter where she goes, Sora takes her sketchbook along. The world is full of mysterious and beautiful things, after all, and Sora doesn’t want to miss a single one. The best way she knows to capture each moment is by drawing and sketching, watching and learning.

However, though Sora is full of wonder, she’s also incredibly shy. She doesn’t have many friends, except for her fellow classmates in the Art Club. But even though they all seem to be slightly crazy (the teacher included), each of them adds another bright color to Sora’s world.

A trailer for the series can be found at the official website here.

For those unfamiliar with the name, the title is based off of the Japanese PopoloCrois comic bok series and has been mixed with the gameplay found in Story of Seasons. This means the title will feature classic turn-based combat as well as a town full of lively and interesting NPCs that contribute to the game’s narrative about “friendship, forgiveness, and the bounty of the earth.”

The title will feature ample farming and life simulation elements allowing for real-time crop-raising, bug-catching, rock-quarrying, item synthesis, relationship forging, and over six hundred different items to collect as they take on the 25+ main storyline that is suplemented by nearly a hundred different quests.

It wasn’t all bad news however, as the company did reveal that all launch copies of the 3DS version of the game in North America will include the game, a collectible box, and the game’s soundtrack on CD. It is worth noting that the Wii U version of Rodea: The Sky Soldier will still include the original Wii version.

Dragon Ball Z Extreme Butoden Leaving Japan

Thanks to a listing by our favourite Australian Classification Board, it seems the previously thought Japan only Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden Nintendo 3DS title will be receiving an English localisation. This 2D fighter is being developed by Arc System Works, the studio responsible for the Supersonic Warriors games for the GBA and DS as well as the Blazblue games, so you can expect really solid 2D sprites and classic gameplay.

The Japanese version of the game releases this week. Extreme Butoden will sport over 100 characters in one on one and team battles however only a quarter of these characters will be playable with most only being available as Z-assist. The Super NES title Super Butoden 2 is being included as a launch bonus, it is unsure if we will get that bonus or even English audio at this point.

Dragon Ball Z is seeing a great revival as of late. With the success of Dragon Ball Xenoverse, the new Resurrection ‘F’ movie and even an all new series which is releasing next month.

The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Warriors 3DS Version on the Way

Zelda-hyrule-warriors-3ds-promo-01

A leaked trailer most likely destined for E3 has shown that the popular Wii U title The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Warriors will be making it’s way to the Nintendo 3DS, not without some great new gameplay additions and even new characters. While the graphics have taken a slight hit as expected, the game still looks really good, and portable Hyrule Warriors can only be a good thing.

The two new playable characters are Tetra and The King of Red Lions, both from the Wind Waker. Tetra seems to carry a pistol while the The King of Red Lions can transform into boat form to attack. It appears that linking the Wii U version with the 3DS version will unlock those characters for the Wii U version as well. In another nice addition, it seems you can now simply press the characters portrait on the touch screen to become that character on the battlefield, allowing you to switch at will.

Rumours have been flying around that female Link will also make an appearance in the new game, as a crossbow has been spotted that looks similar to the one used by the female Link look-a-like from the Hyrule Warriors art book. Wouldn’t that be interesting especially about all the female Link rumours that occurred after last years E3 showing of the upcoming open world Legend of Zelda title. Expect to hear more about both Zelda games at E3 which is taking place next week.

Metal Gear Solid V Playstation 4 Bundle Headed to Europe and Australia

metal-gear-solid-v-ps4-bundle-01

With E3 right around the corner, more and more early news that doesn’t hold as much weight as other announcements are starting to pop out. Today, Konami have revealed a new Playstation 4 bundle for Metal Gear Solid V, that will feature a sleek, red coloring.

The entire console is inspired by the same “bionic arm” that Snake has, with a controller that is a metallic grey. It looks rather awesome, and you can find it on launch day for the standard retail price of the Playstation 4, with the 500GB hard drive inside. Keep in mind that at the moment this Metal Gear console has only been announced for Australia and Europe, but I look for Konami to be announcing it for the states sometime next week.
