Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Prophecy Expansion and 2.0 Patch Delayed

NeocoreGames announced they will be delaying the Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr patch 2.0 and the Prophecy stand-alone expansion. Patch 2.0 is now scheduled to launch on June 20th. The expansion was originally scheduled to launch on June 30th, but has been pushed back a month to July 30th. Neocore Games felt the delay was necessary to improve the expansion and the patch, which is bringing massive changes to the base game.

Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Prophecy is a stand-alone expansion introducing the Tech-Adept Inquisitor summoner class, three new story chapters, more map settings, the Eldar race, and the Tyranids race. It will cost $24.99 USD on Steam. Those who own Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr will be able to take advantage of a 30% discount for a month after the launch of Prophecy. The expansion will launch on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One at a later date.

American Fugitive Review

Overview

Do you know what slightly irks me with movie releases? When they announce a sequel and it has almost none of the original cast with the tagline of “by the producer/writer of the original”. It doesn’t exactly fill me with hope and it’s not really a proof of quality. You could even slap the name of a cameraman from the original and call it a day. It’s more like a bait to sell the movie to you. But in this case, I’ll bite. When I read the description of American Fugitive, a small blurb of text caught my attention. “Developed by Fallen Tree Games, the two studio founders have extended AAA backgrounds; including titles such as TimeSplitters, Crysis, Black, and Goldeneye 007: Reloaded“. Are you kidding me?!! THE Black? One of the most visually impressive shooters on PS2 with the groundbreaking destructible environment (at that time)? I mean, the other titles listed as just as impressive but this got me most hyped. So yeah, I’ll bite. Let’s see what American Fugitive is all about.

Story

In the game, we play as Will Riley, a man framed for murder and a fresh jail escapee on his quest to find out the truth. Not exactly original, but I’m still interested. Your base of operations (or a mayhem playground) will be the Redrock County, a cozy American town with plenty of cops and houses to steal from (hey, proving your innocence costs money!). Follow the story (and some side missions if you feel like it) to get to the bottom of the conspiracy and find out who exactly wanted to murder your father and put you behind bars. If that means I have to rob every house in the vicinity, so be it!

Gameplay

American Fugitive is a 3D top-down sandbox car stealer/shooter/burglary sim. Seeing what kind of previous games the studio had under its belt, I was kinda confused why they wanted to take the top down camera approach for the game but it worked rather well. The game is an arcadey GTA clone with some Dukes of Hazzard: Racing for Home thrown in (bonus points if you remember that PsOne gem). On your way to unravel the story, you can take on the side missions, time trials, steal & tow cars, collect garbage, break into houses for valuables, play tag with cops, dress up as a woman (more on that later) and upgrade your skills. They range from everything such as expanding your inventory, be more efficient in fights, be better with handling firearms, stealthier, make your vehicle sturdier and so on. As you go through those activities, the police will usually not be fond of them. Especially if you decide to tow a car while some guy is still driving it (and I don’t even need to mention their stance with robbing houses and murder). The more havoc you create, the more stars you earn but that can easily be resolved by finding fresh clothes in someone’s yard. This is why I decided to change into a red dress after my first carjack since no one would ever look for a bearded woman.

Visuals

You won’t find anything visually groundbreaking in American Fugitive but there are a bunch of neat details to make up for that. I like the change of night & day and how every car that looks different feels different when driving as well. Locations never feel copy pasted and after some time, you can easily know where you are without constantly looking at the map screen. The town feels alive with its residents going about their daily lives and frequent traffic and train schedules.

Audio

While so far I could give every other aspect of the game a passable grade at worst, this bit is the most disappointing. Besides some expected sound effects, you won’t find any memorable audio except during scripted events and missions. Everything feels too silent and characters never talk, even during still image cutscenes. I also noticed some tunes would loop after a while. All in all, I wish this portion of the game got more attention during the development.

Overall

With all said and done, American Fugitive is still a treat for old GTA fans and top-down arcade games from the glory days of PsOne. The game is packed with lots of extra activities, car handling is incredible and it is a great stress reliever when you just feel like playing cat and mouse with cops or break some wooden fences. There is a lot of value here for an affordable price and fun doesn’t stop even after you complete the main story.

NEW SCREENS GIVE FIRST LOOK AT ROOSTER TEETH GAMES’ VICIOUS CIRCLE

Play Dirty, Get Rich and Get Out Alive in this Uncooperative Multiplayer Shooter, Coming this Year to Windows PC

AUSTIN, TXMay 23, 2019 — Rooster Teeth has released the first screenshots from Vicious Circle, the fast-paced uncooperative multiplayer shooter. A new IP developed by Rooster Teeth Games, Vicious Circle has four mercenaries compete for loot against a terrifying monster — and each other — in a comic-inspired sci-fi universe drawn with colorful visuals and a retro-future art style.

“Our goal with Vicious Circle is to create something incredibly addicting and fun while staying true to Rooster Teeth’s sense of humor our fans have come to expect,” said Michael Hadwin, Head of Game Development at Rooster Teeth.

Each round, one player is selected to become a massive, unstoppable creature with one simple goal: kill all four mercenaries. The mercs can be a formidable force when working together, so divide and conquer, using your enhanced senses and powerful abilities to scatter foes in a panic, hunt them down and pick them off one by one until no one’s left alive.

You can team up with rival mercs to survive, but only the player with the most loot wins. And that means playing dirty every chance you get. Use your gadgets and the environment to mess with your adversaries: lock doors to slow them down, trap them in rooms with the monster, and suck loot out from under them. Should you combine forces against the monster hunting you all down, or sneak away to gain the upper hand while everyone else is busy? Just remember — what goes around comes around.

Vicious Circle is expected to launch later this year on Windows PC. It will be playable to the public for the first time at RTX 2019 in Austin, Texas, July 5-7. For more information, visit www.viciouscirclegame.com.

Multiple Telltale Games Series Being Delisted from GOG

If you’ve wanted to play any of Telltale Games‘ previous series on PC then you will need to pick up the pace a bit, at least if you want to purchase them from GOG. The digital distributor has announced that on May 27th The Wolf Among Us, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Hector: Badge of Carnage, both of the Batman series, the entire Sam & Max series, both Puzzle Agent series, Tales from the Borderlands, and Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People will all be removed from the website though if you have already purchased these series then they will still remain available to download following this removal.

It is worth noting that The Walking Dead series is still available through the Epic Games Store but games such as Jurassic Park, Monkey Island, and Back to the Future have already been removed from these digital fronts. The distributor explained that this delisting is due to Telltale’s closure last year and with no company to renew the distribution rights they must unfortunately be removed.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 Ventrue Clan Detailed

Continuing with their series of clan trailers Paradox Interactive and developer Hardsuit Labs have released a new video for Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 with this one focusing on introducing players to the Ventrue clan. Historically, Seattle has been the site of many industrial booms, and of course, the Ventrue have been there to capitalize on its fortunes. As more and more billion-dollar corporations shape the local and global landscape, enterprising Ventrue have entrenched themselves in the businesses of the 21st century, paving the way for a prosperous future for their clan and making enemies of the residents who preferred the way things used to be.

The blood of rulers has flown in the veins of the Ventrue since time immemorial – be they high priests, emperors, investment bankers, or chairmen of the board. No surprise then that lineage and loyalty are held in high esteem; even less that others might mistake them for pompous nepotists. The Clan of Kings sees the truth: they are the architects of vampire society, the guardians of the Masquerade. In these modern nights, they are the only thing to stand between the Kindred and extinction.

You can find the video below and keep an eye out for the game when it is released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in Q1 2020.
