UNCHARTED 2: AMONG THIEVES BREAKS AWAY AND FLEES WITH 10 AWARDS DURING THE 13TH ANNUAL INTERACTIVE ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS

LAS VEGAS – February 18, 2010 – Escaping with10 outstanding awards, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (Sony Computer Entertainment) ran over the competition at the 13th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards®. Hosted by stand-up comedian and video game enthusiast Jay Mohr at the Red Rock Resort in Las Vegas, the evening brought together renowned leaders from the gaming industry to recognize their outstanding achievements and contributions to the space.

The 13th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards honored successful game designer and Activision co-founder, David Crane with the AIAS’ first Pioneer Award. Entertainment Software Association (ESA) founder, Douglas Lowenstein was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Gaming legend behind successful titles,

“The interactive world continues to grow and move forward every day. While we have seen tremendous advances in the community, I believe this is only the beginning,” said Joseph Olin, president, AIAS. “With the help of the tremendously talented men and women here tonight, we will continue to create games that inspire each other to continue pushing the envelope.”

These peer-based awards recognize the outstanding products, talented individuals and development teams that have contributed to the advancement of the multi-billion dollar worldwide entertainment software industry. The winners in each category are as follows:

Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon, Mark Cerny, was inducted into the Hall of Fame, one of the organization’s highest honors.

Lost Planet 2 on Xbox 360 told to TRIM DOWN !!

Looks like the Xbox 360 version of Lost Planet 2 is going to be trimmed down quite a bit due to XBOX 360’s DVD disc space restrictions compared to Sony Playstations Blu-ray format. In a recent interview with Kotaku Lost Planet 2 producer Jun Takeuchi explained that Capcom had to trim down a significant amount from the game :

We are not sure what has been removed but from what Jun said :

“This time, truly, the content that was cut was significant,” Takeuchi added, “and at the end, we had to wrestle with disc space.”

Jun also noted that even though it really destroyed the team in doing so he is positive that the content that was removed might be able to make an appearance as downloadable content in the future

 “I think we could be able to add that content at a later date as downloadable content.” Everybody wins!

Now my own request here is that Capcom do the honourable thing and release this DLC for Lost Planet 2 for FREE !!

Its thats time again,  even tho its Friday here in Australia it still Thursday in the US and that’s when Playstation Store releases its updates for the week.

FINALLY ITS OFFICIAL !!! Capcom have announced the line up for Super Street Fighter IV.

A total of 9 YES 9 extra characters are now confirmed the last 3 have been announced and they are: Street Fighter III’s Dudley and Ibuki along with Street Fighter III Third Strike’s Makoto.  They all join Super Street Fighter IV newcomers Cody, Guy, Adon, DeeJay, Juri, and T.Hawk !! This is one KICK ASS line up of new comers !!

Now enough talking from me watch the trailer below that features all the new characters doing what they do best and thats KICK THE LIVING SNOT out of their opponents !!
