MasterAbbott from Capsule Computers sat down for over 10 plus hours to review Rake In Grass’s EPIC RPG Game for the iPhone : UNDERCROFT
I have done a 10 minute view review which covers and goes through pretty much all the important parts of Undercroft.
Undercroft is truely a great RPG turn based game. The Character classes to choose from are the right mix, the skills that each character can learn are interesting. You will have so many decisions to make on what to give each character when they level up. And what type of skills will fit well within the party. You have to really sit down and strategize everything. It’s perfect in every which way. It’s not everyday an RPG like this gets released to the world for us all to enjoy. And Rake In Grass has pulled off a fantastic job in creating an amazing game with great storylines, missions, side quests, hundreds of items to collect and unique and interesting monsters to battle against.
The game has two difficulty levels, I would recommend playing it on the hardest for a full bodied experience. Take your time and plan your moves in battle with the use of weapons, spells or skills. Running head first into battle is not always the smart thing. Sometimes you might need to buff up with the assistance of your Priest(Cleric) to give the party that extra boost in attack and defense.
There are some tricky and mind bending puzzles in the game that will have you thinking pretty hard. I wont give away any spoilers but they were quite enjoyable and have you thinking, Rake in Grass has done a great job in that department.
The music in the game is also brilliant, the sound effects and thunderstorms with rain effects are fantastic, especially with headphones on. There is no voice acting, thats something that would of made Undercroft even more EPIC. Everyone you meet and speak to and everything you do is all text driven. It’s still very easy to understand and fun, but voice would of added that extra feel to the game.
Undercroft also has this really neat save game transfer tool. If you download the LITE (demo version) and play through the first chapter then decide to go out and buy the full version, you dont have to start all over again. This is especially important in RPG games. As everything you have done so far can be simply transported over to the full version so you don’t lose anything and you can continue on your quest. *Note to do this you must have both lite and full version on the iPhone *

SONY has stepped up the fight for the living room by announcing the PlayTV for Australia.

The PlayTV system lets PlayStation 3 users record TV on their console, turning it into a personal video recorder similar toTiVo or Foxtel IQ.
The system consists of a small black box with twin HD TV tuners and a custom electronic program guide for the PS3.
Play TV can pause and rewind live TV as well as record one channel while the user watches another, plays a game, or watches a DVD.
It also lets users access their recorded shows wirelessly using a PlayStation Portable or a Sony Ericsson Aino phone.
Sony made the announcement as the PS3 goes head-to-head with rival console, Microsoft’s Xbox 360, for the home entertainment market with more features that go beyond video games.
Microsoft will start rolling out new features including Facebook and Twitter integration later this month, followed by online HD movie rentals. (Check out preview video here regarding this)
The PlayTV will be sold for $169.95 from November 26th.

I have gone through a brief 10 min run down of Episodes From Liberty City in the video review below. But as your all aware, you cannot review or go through everything in 10 mins especially for an epic game as Grand Theft Auto. Check out the video review below first then continue reading :
The Video review does go through some important features and facts about Episodes of Liberty City and I have focused mainly on The Ballad Of Gay Tony.
Bear in mind when you do purchase the retail version of Grand Theft Auto : Episodes From Liberty City you get both The Lost and Damned & The Ballad of Gay Tony.
I do run through this in detail on the video.
Both episodes are also available to also purchase via Xbox Live Marketplace and can be downloaded directly to your Xbox 360 hard drive.
This review will not cover anything from The Lost and Damned. I will be discussing and reviewing mainly The Ballad Of Gay Tony.
The Ballad of Gay Tony is the second episode in the Grand Theft Auto saga and completes the epic story that Rockstar Games started with Grand Theft Auto IV and Niko.
In Ballad of Gay Tony the focus is Liberty City’s nightlife, where everyone and everything is available for a price. This time around you play as Luis Lopez, a personal bodyguard, business partner and good friend to Tony Prince AKA Gay Tony. Tony has been the king of Liberty City Nightlife for the past 10 years. He runs the hottest lounge, Maisonette 9 and one of the most famous Gay Club, Hercules. Now not everything is as it seems. I might be from the outside but on the inside there is some serious money problems. Tony in trouble and that is where Luis(you) step in to sort things out.
Pretty much right off the bat Luis is in the middle of the action and can access the entire city. By now most of you reading this should have already played Grand Theft Auto IV or Lost and Damned. The is no need to go through any basics. The game however will give you a rundown on what you can do and what you need to do in a given situation. For example when you get into the car for the first time, you will get a brief intro on how to drive, accelerate and brake ect. Back in the safe house you will be shown where to sleep, change your clothes etc. ( I have covered this in the video review as well) AND also watch some really cool new TV shows. Princess Robot Bubblegum is brilliant. I truely hope that Rockstar Games branches out Princess Robot and releases more episodes. I can’t count how many times I’ve watched the episode. The idea’s and storyline are brilliant !! It’s got that sick humor that I personally love and can totally relate to, each little joke is well thought out and executed to perfection. Do bear in mind that Princess Robot Bubblegum is targeted to adults. So try and keep the children and people with heart conditions away when your watching it 🙂
I will not disclose any story related spoilers in this review. However I will discuss some of the extra features that are available in The Ballad of Gay Tony.
As Luis is Gay Tony’s business partner he will be working, managing and sometimes having to get his hands dirty at the clubs. Ensuring that everything is running smoothing is of the utmost importance. such examples of day to day life of Club Management will be ensuring the club is free of any drug dealers, perverts and degenerates. Luis will also have deal with celebrities some tasks are quite enjoyable to do, one such example is helping a closeted rapper avoid getting happy snapped by the paparazzi after a big night over at the Gay club Hercules. There are many more but I’m not going to spoil it for anyone. You’ll have to see for yourself.
Luis also can help his friends Henrique and Armando to sell and rip off drug dealers around the city. Meeting up with his friends will then allow you to crash deals, find drug stashes or intercept shipments. It’s a risky business and you have to make sure you don’t caught or even worse killed attempting these style of missions. But hey its GTA !! Live a little 😉
Discussed in the video review Luis can get up to a fair bit of action and fun at Maisonette 9, he can dance and impress the pretty ladies, and then after impressing them enough he could take his relation with them to the next level, after exchanging cell phone numbers Luis will be able to do what every proud male in the Liberty City takes pride in. And that’s make BOOTY CALLS.
Other activities in the lounge include drinking at the bar and my personal favourite the Champagne Drinking game. Making your way up to the VIP area, you can get to challenge someone, chug and spray !! chug and spray !! but don’t throw up or even worse black out like a sissy !! It’s great fun and a nice break from the action.
Another new feature introduced is the Base Jumping challenges. Scattered around Liberty city are certain points marked for base jumping. Here Luis will be able to for example jump off a building, out of a chopper, or off a ramp and hit either a moving or stationary target When jumping off a building or out of a chopper you will using a parachute. This is VERY cool and can also be played in multiplayer WITH FRIENDS. Everyone can jump off a building together imagine the mayhem in that. And then add to that multiplayer action with someone in a chopper attempting to use the blades to cut your parachute ropes to send you plummeting down to your DOOM !! WAY COOL
If Base Jumping is a little too stressful then how about hitting a few balls around at the Liberty City driving range. Here Luis can take on his friends or punters. But be warned, it’s not that relaxing, you also have a targets to hit. Like the flag on the pole Waaaaayyyyy way over there. With time, practice and a few screams at the TV you should be able to perfect your swing and get the job done.
Of course don’t forget the RANDOM’s (i love the randoms.. don’t you) there will be a few of them hanging around for Luis to help out. If he wants to. I would recommend doing them as most are very satisfying and it’s always great to hear stories and do extra missions along the way.
In the video review I explain a little on Multiplayer (Deathmatch) Multiplayer in the Ballad Of Gay Tony is brilliant, action is constant the variety of weapons are fantastic, the deathmatch areas are tighter so more carnage can happen. Death match supports 16 players online, and the objective is to have the most kills with the set time. Players are awarded money for each kill (also included are KILL STREAKS – kill streaks of 3, 5 and 10 gives the player heath and armour bonuses)and the player with the most at the end wins. Team Deathmatch works exactly the same but your now working as a team. The team with most money at the end of the round wins.
There are new weapons to pick up and use at your disposal. They are : Assault SMG, Explosive Shotgun, Advanced Sniper Rifle, Sticky Bombs, Pistol .44 and one more which i’ll let you all try and find out for yourselves.
The Race and GTA race checkpoint racing multiplayer is also back everything is the same BUT Rockstar games have added one very cool feature that players will absolutely love .. every vehicle now has nitrous !! This should give you that much needed edge, but use it wisely. We don’t want to be scrapping you off any walls or telegraph poles.
I urge everyone to go out there and grab a copy of Grand Theft Auto Episodes From Liberty City, the storyline is fantastic it kept me hooked right to the very end !! The action is non-stop.
