Iron Man 2 Achievements

This achievements list coincides with the review that can be found by clicking here.

The achievements in Iron Man 2 seem pretty straight forward at first. A majority of them will be unlocked just for playing the game on the hardest setting. There are a few that may require you to go back and finish certain miscellaneous tasks, such as passing the security grid without touching a laser or completing a certain task without being damaged or in a certain time frame. Once you get passed these achievements you will find out where the true annoyance is and that is found in the achievements where you have to kill so many enemies with a certain weapon or using certain abilities. There are so few levels and each with a small amount of bad guys that you will have to grind levels over and over again just to meet the quota. The game is bad enough the first play through, playing levels over and over again just to kill people is even worse. The achievements are easy in a general sense, but they simply aren’t fun to get. If the game was longer with more opportunities to get the achievements without grinding it may not have been bad, but no one likes excessive grinding and that is exactly what the achievements call for in this game. Not to mention the first achievement you unlock is a 3 point achievement which screws up any achievement hunters list. Luckily the counter achievement worth 7 points isn’t that hard to pull off.

Risk: Factions – Zombie Faction trailer

So, if you haven’t been following along listen up. Risk: Factions is an upcoming downloadable game announced by EA in January 2010 that is heavily based on the famous board game risk.

So far we have the humans. The human’s dog attacked the cats. The humans then unleashed the robots to protect themselves from the cats but the robots went rogue. The robots then created the zombies in an attempt to protect themselves from the humans and the cats. Confused? Don’t be! Watch the zombie trailer below, look up the other 3 on youtube and you will understand all.

Sonic 4 Trailer

Below you will find a press release and a trailer for the upcoming Sega game, Sonic The Hedgehog™ 4 Episode I. Supposedly the first episode will include 12 acts, but I have no evidence for that so take it with a spoon of sugar (I think that’s the saying).

~~

SEGA is incredibly happy at the overwhelmingly positive response to Sonic The Hedgehog™ 4 Episode I from both press and fans around the world, and wants to ensure that we’re delivering the best Sonic experience possible.

With this dedication to quality and the Sonic experience in mind, SEGA has decided to extend the development of the game, and will now release Sonic The Hedgehog 4 Episode I in the latter half of 2010. The additional time will allow the Development Team to focus on ensuring overall high-quality throughout the game by continuing to tune, balance, and maintain the kind of polish that an important title like this demands, and ultimately providing fans with an unrivalled classic Sonic feel.

Sonic The Hedgehog 4 Episode I is developed specifically for the download market and will be available via Microsoft XBLA, Sony PSN, Nintendo WiiWare and the iTunes App Store in late 2010.

Blacklight: Tango Down Comic on its way

0

Ignition Entertainment recently announced that there will be a comic book for their upcoming downloadable shooter, Blacklight: Tango Down.

It will be a single comic book, and it is said to both tie into and further develop the plot of the game. It is supposed to expand the fiction with this single story and is being collaborated by the distributor, developer and Storm Lion Publishing.

Blacklight: Tango Down (The comic book) is written by Jared Gerritzen, Ian Stephens and Cullen Galagher with story by Jason Dean Hall and Eric Lieb, and art direction by Storm Lion’s Zid.

Supposedly the comic follows the events of a covert ops team who are attacked by crazed locals while attempting to rescue their officer from behind enemy lines. Mix this comic in with the upcoming game and the film that is currently in development, and you have a deliscous money cake being eaten by Ignition and Zombie. Hopefully the cake isn’t nasty tasting. (Translation: Hopefully the comic and the movie are as good as the game looks)

Backbreaker Demo breaks into the 360 Marketplace

The demo will be available tomorrow May 21st for all gold users of Xbox Live. While any silver members will instead have to wait until the 28th for access to the demo. The PS3 demo has no set date yet, but the makers of the game, Natural Motion, is hoping for it to be released next Tuesday the 25th. Seems that the PS3 users will only see this game a few days before the silver members.

The full release date of the game is on June 1st. Backbreaker is an alternative American football game which includes teams that no one has ever heard of before. However you can make literally any team you would want too and customize every little bit down to the color of the team’s wristbands. Also every single tackle and interaction will appear unique as no action has a pre-determined reaction. Instead there is a dynamic physics engine that will calculate everything as it occurs.

Looks like tomorrow we will see how this football game will stack up against the Madden powerhouse. Hopefully a new franchise instead of the standardized football game that Madden usually provides, or the over-the-top brutality of Blitz.

Game Room- Game Pack 004 Now Available

The latest release for ‘Game Room’ on the Xbox 360 is now available. Game Pack 004 contains Time Pilot, Asteroids, Stampede, Grand Prix, Demons to Diamonds, Shark! Shark! and Space Duel.

Overall, there doesn’t seem to be anything particularly stand-out in this package, with the exception of Asteroids. This is especially the case with the release of Time Pilot, a game that has already been available on Xbox Live Arcade for a long time already. That said, if you want to build up your Game Room Arcade, and with the small amount on offer at the moment, this package gives a bit more choice of retro games to add to your library.
