Starting today, anyone who pre-ordered Sam and Max: The Devil’s Playhouse will get a special set of themed items for Team Fortress 2. This offer will continue for the next week to all those who purchase Sam and Max: The Devil’s Playhouse, so if you want these items in Team Fortress 2 go buy Sam and Max: The Devil’s Playhouse. The three items, were created by Telltale and include Max’s pistol, Sam’s revolver and Max’s severed head (without the blood). The hat has no stats, and I have no idea what the stats are for the pistols.
Super Mario Galaxy 2, Co-Op brings Luma Control
The Japanese website for Super Mario Galaxy 2 has released some new information about about co-op in Super Mario Galaxy 2. According to the website the second player will be able to jump in at any time and control a Luma. It is unknown at this time exactly what you can do while controlling this Luma, but hopefully it’s will be used for more then just collecting star bits.
It seems Nintendo enjoys implementing all these extra co-op settings where the second player is only able to help in construed and inevitably pointless ways.
Does anyone remember LoZ: WindWaker, where a friend could hook up a Gameboy to the Gamecube and control tingle? First off it was extremely annoying to hook it up. Secondly it cost you rupees in order for tingle to do anything (not very kid friendly when they spend all your hard earned cash). Finally it didn’t add much to the gameplay, sure the second player could enable you to hover for a short time or use bombs that were extremely hard to accurately use. The only thing tingle added was a few secret golden statues that you could collect. Sure it was fun, but pointless.
Hopefully the co-op in Super Mario Galaxy 2 will be much more fun and worthwhile.
HALO:Reach Multiplayer BETA details
A massive amount of HALO:Reach Multiplayer BETA details have been released. Get all the details here, it’s a long article but well worth the read for the true Halo fans.
HALO: Reach Multiplayer Beta Details
Some points from the article.
– Elites are much taller than the Spartans, instead of the same height as was the norm. They are bigger, faster than the Spartans, maybe they are the 6 million dollar man equivalents. This will be in multiplayer as well as the game.
– Load outs. Yes you heard right – ala Battlefield BC and MW2 – you can now change your loadouts. However they are not player defined, but playlist defined.
– Active camo! This can be used by both Elites and Spartans to give you temporary invisibility.
– Elites can evade – bit of tumbling and rolling around to he had here.
– Jetpacks – you can fly and see those pigs. No seriously, this is pretty self explanatory – but get too high and no juice, be prepared to die a splattering death.
– Sprinting.. whatttttttttttttttt! It’s only for the Spartan’s and you can’t shoot whilst running.
– There are also some new cool weapons to check out and use. Grenade Launcher (anyone for OMA?), Plasma Repeater, Focus Rifle are all new additions.
That’s about it, let us know your thoughts? One thing is certain, HALO: Reach BETA is going to knock MW2 off it’s No.1 perch when it is released.
Have fun.

Com2uS has just released the highly anticipated MMORPG, IMO: The World of Magic on the App Store. IMO is a virtual world that combines the strategy of role-playing games with the competitiveness of social networking games. You can choose from one of three classes: Fighter, Ranger, and Wizard and decide your character’s realms: Lanos Kingdom or Sirus Empire. You will be able to set your character’s gender, name, hair style, and color. Your character will then be placed in a virtual online world with thousands of players from around the world. When you fight, your character will gain exp which will help you build skills that can be used in combat. Real-time network play with your friends.
Unlike the slew of single player role-playing games out there, the best part of IMO is that you can play with your friends and/or family online in real-time. Each character can create a party with up to 4 members which allows each member to gain exp at a higher rate. If you are looking for something a little more casual, you can create a guild which allows up to 40 members and offers special chatting channels. Multiple chatting modes such as speak, shout, whisper, guild chat, and party chat, you can target your messages to a desired group of people in the virtual world. However, one of the most addicting features of IMO is the player vs. player arenas. This allows players from one realm to attack
players from another realm. As seen on other MMO games, this adds an element of collaboration and strategy from each realm to launch attacks against other players.
IMO is FREE!
Com2uS has released the game as a FREE game where users can play without any restrictions. However, for users who want an extra boost to their gameplay, specific items are purchasable via In- App purchases. These items do not break the balance between users but instead, adds features that make certain aspects more convenient. For example, there is a scroll that allows the user to summon a friend to the location of your character. This item is not a necessity in the game but bypasses the inconvenience of travelling across the virtual world to meet a friend. Therefore, a user can play the entire game without needing to purchase a single item.

Final Fight Double Impact out NOW
Yes I know you all know and that I’ve probably flogged it to you more than a few times but this will be the last time :
FINAL FIGHT : Double Impact is out today for XBOX and tomorrow on PS3 via the PSN Store.
Check out the details below. If all goes well, we might have a review of the game soon.
–
Capcom’s duo of classic arcade titles takes centre stage today with the release of Final Fight: Double Impact on Xbox LIVE Arcade for 800 MS points and on PlayStation Network tomorrow for $9.99.
Final Fight follows the adventures of Cody, Guy and Haggar – three heroes fighting their way across a crime ridden Metro City in the hopes of saving Haggar’s daughter from the evil clutches of Mad Gear. What better way to warm up for the release of Super Street Fighter IV than to take a trip down memory lane and experience the Final Fight beat’em-up insanity all over again. In Magic Sword users will take on the role of the “hero”, a brave warrior who bears the daunting responsibility of cleansing evil forces from an ancient tower. This side scrolling action illustrated in classic fantasy stylings makes for a perfect pairing with Final Fight.
Final Fight and Magic Sword utilise Capcom’s proprietary graphics engine so both can shine in crisp HD glory or you can choose to toggle back to classic mode and experience the game in it’s original arcade format. The multiplayer features will allow gamers to relive the classics with friends online. Fighters can jump straight in on a fight and work their way up the leader boards to compete for bragging rights as well as collect achievements and trophies to unlock extras.

Infinity Ward Lose more members of the Modern Warfare team
Well Well Well…
Looks like it’s the begining of the end for the Infinity Ward team. Another 4 more members have handed in their resignation.
So far a total of 11 YES 11 members have left Infinity Ward starting with Vince Zampella and Jason West who have since created their own company Respawn Entertainment. Now I wonder if everyone that’s left Inifinty Ward have their desks/computer equiptment already setup at Respawn Entertainment 😉 Seeing that everyone is leaving one after the other, it just seems that this is the only logical explanation to the mass resignations ?
Now lets have a look at who’s left so far :
Vince Zampella Jason West Steve Fukada ( Lead Designer) Zied Reike (Lead Designer) Rayme Vinson (Programmer) Chris Cherubini (Lead Artist) Bruce Ferriz (Animator) Mackey McCandish (Lead Designer) Jon Shiring (Programmer) Todd Alderman (Lead Designer) Francesco Gigliotte (Lead Software Engineer)Looking at these people and their roles over at Infinity Ward. If they all jumped ship to Respawn Entertainment this team right here could start work almost instantly on a new blockbuster title that could could make Modern Warfare 2 look like a distant memory.
I have to say in my honest opinion Modern Warfare / Call Of Duty will never be the same ever again. I believe the next big FPS title will be EA’s Medal Of Honor, if executed correctly it will take its place back at the top of the mountain and reclaim its place as KING. Only time will tell.
THEN we have Respawn Entertainment if and when it gets off the ground whatever they can come up with will be loved by many loyal MW / COD fans and the battle for supremacy will start all over again.
Seems like the circle of life in the video game industry is starting all over again !! HOW EXCITING !! 🙂
