El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron

An adventure that transcends Heaven and Earth to grace the PlayStation3 and Xbox 360 in 2011

El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron is a 3rd person fantasy action title inspired by events in the Old Testament, in particular the apocryphal ‘Book of Enoch’. Enoch, a brave and just human, is caught up in a pivotal battle raging between Heaven and the Fallen Angels. Though lacking their monstrous powers, he must overcome the Fallen Angels in order to save humankind from a great flood ordered by Heaven to wash away their twisted empire on Earth.  In order to succeed, Enoch must use his natural combat skills and master a range of powerful Heavenly weapons under the guidance of the watchful Archangels. Heaven’s true wild card is Lucifel, the enigmatic red-eyed angel, who is always in Enoch’s ear with a word of advice and a line in dry wit. The tale combines adventure, humour, and horror, along with breathtaking beauty and heart-tugging emotion.

The Tokyo-based studio has amassed a hugely talented and visionary team, headed by Sawaki Takeyasu (Game Director, Character Designer) and Masato Kimura (Producer), both of whom have experience of bringing stunning games to market, with credits including Devil May Cry, Okami and Viewtiful Joe.

“When developing this title, it was imperative that we give these immensely talented game designers total artistic freedom,” says UTV Ignition Entertainment Chairman Hassan Sadiq. “And they have truly risen to the occasion by forging an adventure that combines a compelling, universally relatable story line with deep gameplay and a uniquely expressive visual style.”

El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron will be available for Xbox 360 and PlayStation3 in 2011

UTV Ignition Entertainment will be sharing further information directly following their official unveiling at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles this week.

NeverDead announced by Konami

Konami has been bringing out the hits today at E3 and NeverDead is one of their biggest swings yet. It is a brand new franchise being developed by Rebellion. It will be a third person shooter with a unique feature; you will be able to re build your body after certain parts have been blown off. You can be your own walking Frankenstein! There wasn’t much info released on this feature but it is easy to say that it is quite unique.

There was a trailer shown at announcement and can be seen below, in a world where strange creatures cover the planet and humans survive in an apocalyptic wasteland. Boy the apocalypse will have no surprises soon with how many times it has been used lately, but with a decent chunk of comedy thrown in should put a bright side on the whole wasteland experience.

Expect to see NeverDead on both the 360 and PS3, but we have yet to hear of any release date yet.

New Silent Hill game announced for 360 and PS3

Konami has just broke some very big news at E3 with the announcement of Silent Hill 8, though that is not the actual title of the game. It’s unfortunately only slated for a 2011 release date so we have an entire year of time to work with and wait for a brand new Silent Hill. Die hard fans of the survival horror genre have always found the Silent Hill series a staple in an under appreciated genre, and with it finally getting more love we can’t wait.

Here is what we know of the storyline so far from Konami:

The survival horror experience begins after a prison transport vehicle careens off the road, leaving lone inmate Murphy Pendleton stranded in Silent Hill.

Gamers will encounter mind-bending puzzles, as well as horrific creatures and other world terrors using everyday objects from wooden chairs to glass bottles to fend off their enemies.

The natural response, fight or flight is left to the player as they unravel a dark, thought-provoking storyline which will appeal to fans of the early, classic Silent Hill series, as well as anyone who enjoys a deep, psychological horror experience.

Unlike Silent Hill: Homecoming, Konami has stated that fans of the earlier series will be very appreciative towards the new story. This could mean a return to simpler times and awkward combat that was endearing to the original series. Besides the storyline above though, there will be side stories that will help unveil the dark secrets of the town.

Saw 2 Release Date Revealed, not a surprise

Konami has released the date that Saw II: Flesh and Blood will be coming onto shelves. So if you want to play a game, Halloween will be the time to do it. Ironically this is far from a surprise as the Saw franchise always releases movies either on Halloween or shortly before it.

John Williamson from Konami told us that we will be playing as Michael, who is the son of the Detective from the very first Saw game, which is where they pull together the flesh and blood name together. It’ll be arriving on the PS3 and Xbox 360 on October 31st, better known as Halloween.

Leliana’s Song DLC information for Dragon Age

Anyone that has played EA & Bioware’s Dragon Age: Origins has seen Leliana, some may have done far more than see her depending on how you played the game. But those of us who spoke with her know about her troubled past as a bard/assassin and even met an old friend of hers as well. Now Leliana was never very forthcoming with what exactly she had done in the past, but now we have the chance to find out. This is because Leliana’s Song is set for release on July 6 for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC and will cost $7 on all systems.

Now in Leliana’s Song players will be placed behind the lovely eyes of Leliana long before she met the heroes that would fight the Archdemon. Players will explore through her dark past and even find out why she changed her life of murder and joined the Chantry. Plus there will be additional unlocks for use in Dragon Age: Origins and Awakening.

I’ve always been curious as to what her dark past involved and it definitely will make for an intriguing addition to the overall story. But one thing that we all know about her past, is that it was kill or be killed. There will be blood in this DLC.

Dead Rising 2: Case Zero E3 Trailer is touching

Boy can Capcom make them. They have released the E3 Trailer for Dead Rising 2: Case Zero and have revealed a bit of a twist that is just now unveiled about Chuck Greene and his daughter. It is a must see. Case Zero itself is set two years after what happened at Wilammette Mall but it will take place three years before what occurs in Dead Rising 2.

There is no set date for release unfortunately for Case Zero but just seeing this trailer has my zombie killing urges twitching for action. And there will be plenty of zombies in the town of Small Creek to eliminate while we try to survive. It will be an XBLA exclusive, unlike Dead Rising 2 itself which will be arriving on most major systems.

Who else is stoked on this game? Chuck definitely goes through a transformation between this prologue and Dead Rising 2, I’m quite curious as to what will happen now in this prologue.

Wonder what other special editions will be announced as the game comes closer to release.

Ghost of Sparta – God of War’s next step

Sony’s press conference revealed to us a bit about the Ghost of Sparta, the next game in the God of War series.  However besides the trailer below there was not much revealed.  Besides a wet Kratos in the rain that is and a teaser on storyline.  This one will be coming to the PSP exclusively though so hopes for a full sequel to God of War 3 so soon are unfortunately let down, but this will do plenty to sate our feel for destruction.  There was no release date yet as Sony sure likes to be a tease when it comes to E3.

Marvel vs Capcom Trailer exposes Dormammu

Remember the teaser that they released before E3 for Marvel vs Capcom 3? Well now they have released the full version of that trailer and looks like we know who will be the big bad guy this time around in the story. Dormammu is revealed to be the source of the fiery circle in the air and the meteors which are falling to earth. The story mode definitely is going to have a major revamp over the previous games. Personally I can’t wait, to bad the fighting can’t be as amazing as it is in the trailer eh? But man this will be amazing when this one arrives.
