Shaun White Skateboarding is due to release on October 28th, 2010.
Rock Band 3 introduces pro tracks and pro instruments, so you would expect the DLC that incorporates even more iterations of every song in the multiple modes to be priced more. In this case you are right.
Paul DeGooyer, MTV’s Senior Vice President of Electronic Games & Music, stated that even though the pro-guitar DLC would cost more, anyone else looking for standard version or pro-drums/pro-keyboard wouldn’t have to pay more than usual.
This is good news because for everyone who doesn’t want to shell out the extra charge for the pro guitar, you can still enjoy the game without any change. However, if you want to play Pro Guitar there is a price increase for the DLC.
“Going forward, all DLC released for Rock Band 3 will be fully Rock Band 3-compatible, which means it’ll come with Pro Mode for keyboard and drums, harmony mode, etc,” said the Senior VP. “The only thing that’s more difficult for us in terms of authoring time is the guitar stuff, so we’ve decided to sell Pro Mode for guitar separately. If you’re not interested in Pro Mode for guitar, you can still get the DLC that should conform to our current DLC pricing, and you get Pro Mode for all your other instruments.”
DeGooyer stated that those interested in the Pro Guitar tracks would only have to pay “a buck extra”, which increases the normal $1.99 price t0 $2.99.
Don’t get your hopes up though for playing a certain song on pro mode, he also stated that not all tracks will support the pro-guitar mode, following by saying that “(Many bands’) guitar parts wouldn’t rise to the level that they would need to have pro mode authoring associated with them.”
DeGooyer ended by saying “We think it’s a really fair price, The alternative would be of course to include it [in the regular download] and up the price for everybody, which I don’t think is really fair.”
Agreed they definitely are not easy to fix. But regardless of that we have a survey that everyone can participate in and it is being held by our good old friends Aksys Games. They are holding this survey on their website: Located Here. This survey asks the reader whether they have heard of Otome games, or would be interested in playing Otome games. There is no mention of what this survey is actually for, but one can assume that if the survey results turn out positive then Aksys may approach localizing popular Otome games for the US.
But what is an Otome game and why should you care? Well an Otome game is more or less a visual novel that involves a female protagonist facing some sort of storyline depending on the game’s setting. The interesting part of this is that this particular genre of games is focused primarily on the female audience because besides the fact that the lead character is a female; they also are able to form a romantic relationship with male characters within the game that they are able to. These games are usually very well written and well drawn, without any actual adult content but does appeal to the female audience. This genre has not seen itself on American shores at all yet, so it is interesting that Aksys is taking a chance and giving this idea even a thought.
Who doesn’t love racing games? I am awful at them, but I still love them. SBK X Superbike World Championship looks like one of the better motorbike racing games coming out soon, and I’m pretty excited to try it out. I adore multiplayer games, and there will be a lot of multiplayer support, including a Championship mode where you will have a team of 4 competing against other teams.
They have also included extremely realistic simulation modes. In what I suppose is the hardest mode, your tires can wear out and your rider can even be injured if you crash. Probably not my game mode, but pretty awesome nonetheless. You even have the option to change the weight of the rider! As you will see in the video below, even the graphics and environment is pretty nice for a racing game.
There is something about motorbikes that make you really feel like you are racing… anyways, watch the video below for the trailer! It comes out October 19th, so keep your eyes peeled for it (pick it up while you’re picking up the other new awesome releases coming out soon!).
Also, keep your eyes peeled for a review coming soon.

Now that NBA Elite 11 has been delayed, the only way to get your basketball fix is through NBA 2K11. As you may remember, we posted quite a few funny videos from 2K’s marketing campaign. This newest video continues the series by using the “who would win in a fight?” scenario. Have a look, and see the conclusion.
Just as promised, Rockstar has released a set of screenshots for their Undead Nightmare DLC pack for Red Dead Redemption. Now how about only $10 or 800 MSP for the PSN and the XBLM respectively. It’ll be interesting to see how the zombies will act out in the open frontier. But one thing that catches my eye is the zombie horse right there in that screenshot; will he be unlockable right off the bat or is there something special you will have to do to acquire such an undead beast?
There has yet to be a release date, but as before Rockstar has been hinting on a release of the same week of Halloween.
For being called The Last Story, it takes and hit shelves at least in Japan right at the beginning of the year. Small bit of irony there if I do say so myself. But enough about that; Mistwalker has set the date for The Last Story to be released in Japan, and that date is on January 27th in 2011. There hasn’t been any word though if the game will be making its way across seas to everyone else but to be honest we shouldn’t have to worry about that small fact.
The Last Story itself takes place on an island that holds the best defense and transportation hub of the Empire. Everything on the island holds magical powers and is very wealthy so expect to see many different sites as you explore this RPG from beginning to end. Though that is only if it is localized outside of Japan.
The great people over at Famitsu have managed to gather together a list of titles that are receiving the 3DS treatment and some of them are quite surprising to say the least. Also it shows that the 3DS’ graphic capability is extremely high as one game, Tales of Vesperia, was once a PS2 RPG and is now set to be transitioned into a portable title. Bear in mind that some of these titles will be receiving a name change and are marked with *, and also not every one of these titles may be available for release outside of Japan, but definitely is great for a tease no?
Also, spare me a moment but take a look at the list from Nintendo. They are remaking the Ocarina of Time to be available for the 3DS which is definitely an amazing title for the system and will guarantee a first day purchase for many people in my mind.
First, I heart you.* You have given me countless hours of joy and entertainment. Now that that is out of the way, onto the main point. If you don’t publish this game: Roll Hamster, Roll, we are gonna have to have some serious talks. I’m talking breakup talks, mmm k? So, get to it, I don’t care what platform it is.
Your friend,
Jed
*You don’t actually believe I am that creepy, right? Right?!!
Roll Hamster, Roll is an indie puzzle game from Columbia by Illusionware Games. It is currently looking for a sponsor. It looks pretty creative and humorous. 😉
