Love Plus 3DS features revealed

Love Plus is a title that has never seen the light of day outside of Japan and it most likely never will. But a bit of news came in today about Konami’s next entry in the Love Plus series; Love Plus 3DS. The game will make use of the 3D system and be completely portable and is more or less a girlfriend simulation game. Andriasang has uncovered the information about a few other features that will be included with the title.

Something known as a Boyfriend Lock will make it so that the girls in the game will not respond to anyone who is not their boyfriend, or the game’s owner. It will use facial recognition to use this feature and players can also register their friends or their family members to the game so that their virtual girlfriend will respond to them in a manner befitting a brother or a sister depending who they are talking to. Players can use the 3DS’ wireless feature to connect to other Love Plus 3DS owners and have their girls interact with one another and even become friends. This title sure is a very interesting one to say the least but I can still never see the franchise heading into Western markets.

Square Enix teasing new Carmageddon

Square Enix looks set to announce a new Carmageddon game, with a countdown timer appearing on the game’s official website, located at http://www.carmageddon.com/.

The violent vehicular combat series hasn’t seen an instalment since the year of the new millenium, 2000, when Carmageddon TDR 2000 was released. A planned fourth instalment was cancelled before its planned 2005 release, but maybe this could be a revival for the series.

Is anybody familiar with the series? I imagine that, as all has been quiet on the Carmageddon front, a lot of people may not know about it. It’s just a shame there’s a timer now obscuring the official website from view to see what the series is all about.

LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 announced

Bloody hell, Harry! After the success of the first game and the general ongoing prosperity of the LEGO line of games, Traveller’s Tales will be bringing us a follow-up to LEGO Harry Potter: Years: 1-4 – LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7.

This should hopefully tie-up all loose-ends with the series, building the last 3 books/ last 4 films out of LEGO bricks. The new context will allow you to explore new areas of the world of Harry Potter, so expect to venture from the safety of Hogwarts out into the LEGO streets of Grimmauld Place and Godric’s Hollow. With any luck we’ll get to explore the Ministry of Magic thanks to some major scenes from the movies taking place there.

Its release date, at this time, is simply Q4, making 2011 a very LEGO packed year indeed. No doubt there will be more updates to come moving forward.

WiiWare/DSiWare releases for Friday 20th May

Here are this week’s Nintendo downloads for the Wii and DS:

  • GO Series Picdun (DSi: Gamebridge, 500 Nintendo DSi Points)
  • Calculator (DSiWare: Cinemax, 200 Nintendo DSi Points)
  • Chrono Trigger (Virtual Console: Square, 900 Wii Points)

Three in total this week, but still no sign of any 3DS downloads until Nintendo deliver the much anticpated update which will bring their revamped online store to download games onto the 3DS. Of the releases, Chrono Trigger is clearly the strongest title, worth a look for any RPG fans. It’s from Square Enix, orginally on the SNES and if you don’t have the improved remake released on the DS then it could be worth a look.

Wii price drops below £100 in the UK

Earlier this month, Nintendo confirmed plans of a Wii price cut to £129 from today, May 20, but GAME, Gamestation and Asda are now offering a new Mario Kart bundle (and the existing Wii Sports Resort one) for just £99.99.

Other retailers are also offering it for slightly higher but still at a reduced price, and for the majority of the deals, they are available both in-store and online.

At this reduced price, they’re awfully tempting? Not too bad seeing how it comes with a game of either Mario Kart Wii or Wii Sports Resort too. Will anyone on this side of the pond be picking up their first Wii, or if you’re feeling particularly spontaneous, a second Wii?

NeverDead’s Arcadia revealed in more than one way on Facebook

Konami has decided to take a bit of a unique method into releasing additional concept art and screenshots for their upcoming title NeverDead. A method that may be a tad bit “revealing” lets just say. Konami has launched a new Facebook experience that will allow fans to take a quite personal look at Arcadia, our heroes female companion. By harnessing the power of the sun Konami has made it so that the more Likes they receive on their Facebook page the more power will be given to the sun.

Meaning of course that Arcadia may end up doing something somewhere down the line. There are various tick marks showing possible unveiling points. Also in the near future Lead Artist Atsushi Tsujimoto will be revealing additional details about Arcadia including how the idea came about to make her. You can find and Like NeverDead’s Facebook Page here and check out the one screenshot already revealed for the game which will release for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Shadows of the Damned thinks your Johnson isn’t big enough

Do you think that your Johnson is just not up to snuff sometimes? Are your enemies laughing at your Johnson because it seems so weak and small? Well you won’t have to worry about that anymore because EA and Grasshopper Manufacture are here to tell you all of the different ways you can enlarge your Johnson.

In a trailer released today you can find out how to make Garcia’s talking skull gun named Johnson much stronger. This includes waving your Johnson around and hitting things with it; making it grow extremely large at a moments notice among a number of other things. I can go on for hours like this but you should definitely take a look at the trailer and its infomercial feel as it is certainly worth a laugh or five.

No More Heroes: Paradise releasing on August 16th

Konami has been quiet about an actual release date for No More Heroes: Paradise in the West. Sure the title is being released in Japan shortly is called No More Heroes: Red Zone but we won’t have to be waiting very long for this enhanced version of the title to make its way overseas. Today Konami revealed that they will be bringing No More Heroes: Paradise with all of its enhancements to North America on August 16th for the PlayStation 3.

This means that at the tail end of Summer we will be able to experience all of the new features included in Paradise, including a number of bug fixes, boss fights with leaderboards against a number of bosses, ten new missions, four new beam katanas, four new bikes, a free camera mode for all the different characters, Travis’ hotel room and last but not least the enhanced visuals that come from the PS3 and of course PlayStation Move support. This means that you’ll be getting practically an entirely new experience this August.

New Wrecked Gameplay Trailer

Now kiddies, do you remember your three R’s? What? Reading, writing, arithmetic? Uuh, no! Only one of those actually starts with R! Jeez.

No, obviously, the three R’s refer to Wrecked: Revenge Revisited, the new Mario Kart-cross-Destruction Derby game from 505 Games.

Ignore the clunky name, and endure the cringe-inducing taunts of the characters, and the game looks solid and fun. And coming from the creators of Mashed and Micro Machines 4, it should be. I usually find driving games pretty boring, but those with a combat element make things more interesting. Wrecked gives players 14 weapons to change the tide of the race, from the standard forward-firing rockets to the more unique force-field pulse, useful for pushing overtakers off bridges.

505 promises a single player mode to hone your mad skillz, but the major drawcard is the 4-player mode, online and off – this looks like a blast with mates and drinks on a Friday night.

Wrecked: Revenge Revisited is due for release onto Xbox Live Arcade and the Playstation Network sometime before August. Check out the gameplay trailer below.
