WWE All-Stars is an over the top wrestling game and could easily be what a younger child may think of actual WWE wrestlers with the way that they leap off the ropes and turnbuckles with ease as well as throw around very large men without throwing out their back. But then again WWE All-Stars is also a game that practically no WWE fan should be without and THQ has decided that they should reward these fans a little bit.
THQ has released Honky Tonk Man and R-Truth for free to download on the XBLM and eventually on the PSN whenever it goes back online. The content will place the WWE Hall of Famer Honky Tonk Man and most recently turned Heel superstar R-Truth into your roster for free. Also released was the American Dream Pack that actually costs money, 160 MSP or $1.99 that includes Dusty Rhodes and his son Cody Rhodes. Who else do you think is going to be released in the future for DLC?
This can be seen as either an attempt to potentially help victims of stolen information, or an attempt at trying to get a piece of a very large pie as well as get your name plastered all over the internet but regardless which one it is, a Canadian law firm is set to bring a class action lawsuit against Sony says Edge Magazine.
The lawsuit is focused around the loss of personal information after the attack on the PSN and it is seeking 1 billion dollars worth of damage to compensate the supposedly one million Canadian account holders for their lost information. The stance of the suit is that because Sony knew about the loss of personal information for some time before letting PSN users know, it could have caused potential harm to one million consumers.
Of course this is all speculation at the moment and it can easily be overthrown but McPhadden Samac Tuovi LLP, a Toronto firm, is representing Natasha Maksimovic from Mississauga. The firm states that they “have commenced a proposed class action against Sony Japan, Sony USA, Sony Canada and other Sony entities for the breach of privacy. The lawsuit claims damages in excess of $1 billion, which includes having Sony pay the costs of credit monitoring services and fraud insurance coverage for two years.”
Whether or not this lawsuit will go through has yet to be seen, nor has it been seen as to how exactly the various PSN users of Canada will be compensated if the law suit actually happens to win. But if they do then Sony will definitely lose a hefty chunk of funds.
If you’ve been waiting to hear when you will be able to play as Jackie Estacado and his evil tentacles then you will be happy to know that you will be able to get your chance on October 4th when the title is set to release in North America and then October 7th worldwide.
2K Games has also released a brand new trailer for the game to go along with this announcement but then again there was no actual gameplay involved in the trailer other than Jackie Boy talking to us and telling us that the Darkness wants out, and after a few years of laying dormant it must be hungering for some more hearts to eat and people to kill. Catch the trailer below and let us know what you think some new additions to the title could be.
Despite many sources already listing a release date for May 10th Disney Interactive has decided to make it official a week before release. Lego Pirates of the Carribbean: The Video Game is indeed coming out next Tuesday on May 10th across practically every platform used today and you can now gain access to the demo free on the Xbox Live. The demo itself lets players play through one of the early levels of the game, Port Royal where each of the movies seems to start from usually.
The whole game will feature over seventy characters from the popular films, including Jack Sparrow of course, all redone with Lego face lifts. The title will apparently also contain some content from the next film in the series, On Stranger Tides, but there has not bee much information given out regarding that feature as of yet. Either way we have yet another Lego game from the widely popular franchise that stretches from children to adults.
Let it be said that Capcom has officially milked the Super Street Fighter IV namesake to death. Seriously, fans love your games but c’mon there needs to be a line drawn in the sand at some point. With Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition being released not only through DLC but through retail release you’ll have two separate ways to purchase the new content that gives you Evil Ryu and Oni as well as a few other features.
Fans of Super Street Fighter IV can choose to download the Arcade Edition DLC on June 7th instead of buying the separate disc version on June 28th, but if for some reason you have yet to buy Street Fighter IV then you should take a look at Capcom’s store before you make your pre-order because if you do buy the game from them you will also receive Bobble Budds. These Bobble Budds will feature Oni and Evil Ryu and are a nice little feature to have for die hard Street Fighters. Though you can save your money for Super Street Fighter IV Hyper Advanced Arcade Edition Mk. III GOTM (Game of the Millenia) Edition with inflatable Ryu snuggle buddie when it releases next year too… not.
G4 was at one time, very long ago, known as a television channel for gamers. Those days, however, have long since past and the network is now plagued with hour long marathons of reality tv like Cops, Cheaters, and Campus PD (cops for drunken college students). If you’re lucky, you might catch Star Trek Next Generation, but rarely will you see any quality programing relating to games anymore. It has been long thought by the gaming community that the quality of G4TV has plummeted since its Tech TV days. Well, now something else has plummeted: Campus PD’s helicopter into the home of Pennsylvania residents.
As you can see from the phot above, there was severe damage to the bedroom and property of the homeowners. After the crash, G4 denied that there was any structural damage to the house and the press was shown a still intact wall from the street. The wall the press saw however was not the wall the chopper hit, and the true scope of the crash was hidden. While there are plenty of reasons to hate G4, or to be disgusted by their programming, I think this really just scrapes the bottom of the barrel. Not only do shows like Campus PD or Cops attempt to capitalize on others’ misfortunes (some of whom are completely innocent), but they are also just horrible shows. Now G4 has clearly cut out the middle man and is trying to see just how unlikeable a single network can be. Please, head over to Reddit, where the distraught couple shares the rest of their story.
Brink is one day closer to release, and this first person shooter is geared up and ready to go. Trailer number 5 out 6 is now out and ready to watch. It details all that you will need to know about the different classes available. For example, the soldier class restocks ammo, etc and the operative can hack stuff. Other class options are also available. This video also explains how the UI in-game works and how you can change classes at anytime during a match.
Class based multiplayer is always very fun and addictive. This game certainly looks to match those requirements.
Bioware has just announced that Mass Effect 3 was kicked out of a 2011 release spot and will instead find a new landing zone in the first 3 months or so of 2012.
The development team is laser focused on making sure Mass Effect 3 is the biggest, boldest and best game in the series, ensuring that it exceeds everyone’s expectations.” said Casey Hudson, Executive Producer Mass Effect series.
More facts about the game will be forthcoming as the year wears on. For now though, we will all have to content oursleves by replaying the previous games to get more endings, or finally getting around to the Arrival DLC. Or, you can take a look at the two new screenshots released for ME3:
Do you.. (A) run and hide, or (B) step up to the plate, amp yourself up with crazy amounts of ionic powers and take that thing head on !!!
Today MasterAbbott had the pleasure to speak with Ken Schramm and Joe Ishikura from Sucker Punch Productions about their highly anticipated sequel inFamous 2 for Playstation 3.
Joe (Game designer over at Sucker Punch who’s in charge of all the missions in the game) takes us through what you can expect to see, feel and experience in inFamous 2. A whole lot of major upgrades have been implemented into the game; these include Cole new abilities and super powers, upgraded environments, new and improved enemies which are stronger, faster and more deadlier, new missions which now include UGC (User Generated Content). This works similar to the UGC used in Little Big Planet and Modnation Rachers where the Playstation community can create their own missions and have them appear in the game (if Sucker Punch feel there’re worthy of being in there). This potentially can increase the games longevity immensely.
inFamous 2 is not just a 1.5 upgrade from the original but a fully revamped sequel running off an updated version of the inFamous 1 engine, as explained by Ken the cut-scenes are no longer in a 2D comic book style but 3D in game engine scenes(similar to Uncharted). Gameplay wise inFamous will keep you entertained for a minimum of 12-13 hours. That’s if you just rush through the main missions, there are approx 150 missions in total, consisting of around 40 main story missions, 100 or so side missions, then of course as explained before 10 preloaded UGC missions with potentially hundreds and hundreds of new UGC that will keep you coming back for more, Ken explained that some of the UGC that players have already created and you can expect to see are Frogger type missions, Angry Birds (entitled Angry Cole) and a hole lot of others. Players are given the tools to create and share with the community, so expect to see an amazing array of fun and talented missions.
This time around Cole will not be alone, along the way he will team with two new super heros, one named KUO who weilds powerful ice ability. KUO represents Order and reason in true super hero fashion. On the other side of the fence we have NIX who represnts Chaos and is empowered with napalm and oil based abilities. Cole will get to battle alongside KUO and NIX on certain missions in the game. The two companions as explained represent your two moral choices based on your actions, with that the world you are in changes to reflect the actions and choices you make. This will also effect the game’s story development. Just like the first inFamous it’s recommended to play through the game twice to experience both Good and Evil story plots and ending.
So are you ready? Do you have what it takes to battle the beast and come out on top ? Remember with great power comes great responsibility. inFamous 2 is scheduled for release on June 7th
Solatorobo: Red The Hunter was originally released in Japan last year by Namco and thankfully Nintendo decided to pick this rather unknown title up and bring it to a larger audience across seas. While it is still unknown if the future RPG will hit the U.S., Nintendo of Europe have now set the date for the anthropomorphic adventure, having it hit shelves in the region on July 1st on the Nintendo DS.
Solatorobo: Red the Hunter puts players in the shoes (or paws for that matter) of Red Savarin, a 17 year old anthropomorphic dog and his robot sidekick, Dahak who do battle with giant robotic “mecha” and other enemies on a journey through the floating islands of the Shepherd Republic. After encountering the mysterious “Elh”, Red gets caught up in a mess of trouble and now must save the world from destruction against the evil being, Lares.
What makes Solatorobo different from other RPGs is the many different modes within the game. Battling is very present in which you must “lift and smash robot opponents” to gain more health for Red. There are also 70 different quests to partake in as well to level up your character and earn money along the journey through the islands in a overall 20+ hour experience.
I always enjoy seeing new IPs come out for any console, and Solatorobo: Red the Hunter seems to stick out from the other title’s in the genre for the DS. The art is also quite stunning for the title, which was designed by Nobuteru Yuki, who also designed characters for Chrono Cross, Dragon Force II, and many Japanese anime TV series and movies. While there isn’t a whole lot of footage from the actual game, I will leave you all with a Japanese trailer until something else surfaces which you can check out below.
