Over the years, THQ have published a ton of wrestling games, but none have ever had a true “create an arena” mode. Today, THQ Creative Director Cory Ledesma tweeted a simple confirmation that “Create an Arena” will be a part of WWE ’12, causing the entire fanbase to now speculate on how this bew mode will work.

This is quite an ambitious step for the genre as a whole, as we have never seen a whole arena customizable in a wrestling title to date. I will say though, as nice as this addition sounds, the Smackdown series is notorious for “2 steps forward, one step back” with the more recent entries, so I am going to approach this news with a bit of caution and hope the gameplay itself is a well polished product. Nothing is known as of now, but once details emerge for “Create an Arena”, we will be sure to keep you updated.

Doctor Who Return Date for Australia

Whilst not yet confirmed in the UK, Doctor Who has recieved a return date from Australian television station ABC. According to a ABC listing, Doctor Who will return to Australian shores on the 3rd of September airing at 7:30pm.

This is much earlier than predicted return time of late September to early October. However there has yet to be an official announcement from the BBC. Thus, this can not be 100 percent confirmed as the return date. Though if you take into account the ABC’s past history of announcing airing dates of Doctor Who before the BBC, they have always been correct.

So there you go Whovians, September 3rd is the date Doctor Who will hit Australian television. Leave a comment below letting us know your thoughts.

Indie Games Summer Uprising Releases

The XBOX Live Indie Games Channel will be holding the Indie Games Summer Uprising in which they will be releasing 10 indie games over the space of 10 weekdays between August 22nd and September 2nd. So far 8 of the 10 titles have been announced with a release date. So for those of you who are interested in indie developers and indie games in general check out the following list of games.

Sauce Digital Announce Banjo Piranha!

Do you enjoy the delicacy of a nice, tasty banjo? Well, these vegetarian piranhas in Sauce Digital’s upcoming iPhone/iPad title Banjo Piranha do. In this little game, player’s take control of the fish by diving deep and then jumping high in the air to gobble up as many banjos as possible. I want to say I am reminded a bit of Angry Birds by the concept alone, but with an emphasis on collecting rather than destroying.

Doctor Who “Let’s Kill Hitler” Prequel Episode

A prequel to the upcoming Doctor Who episode Let’s Kill Hitler is set to make it’s way exclusively onto the official BBC website this Monday.

The prequel episode is written by show-runner Steven Moffat and will bridge the two parts of the season together, by connect the events of A Good Man Goes to War with Let’s Kill Hitler.

Let’s Kill Hitler will feature the Doctor and his companions as they travel to Nazi Germany and attempt to prevent Hitler from making the choices that made him become the most hated man to ever live.

The second half of the sixth season of Doctor Who will continue sometime in September, however no official date has been listed by the BBC. As more news comes to light we will keep you posted. Please leave a comment letting us know what you think.

XAM’D Lost Memories UK release cancelled

That’s right, the Manga UK Blu-Ray release of XAM’D: Lost Memories has been cancelled after only having just released throughout the country. Why would Manga UK do such a thing, you ask? Well the release didn’t sell well to say the least. As a matter of fact, it sold only roughly 100 copies. Yes, only 100, in the entire country.

Now you may note the unusually high cost of anime in the UK as a part of the problem. You may be right, but regardless Manga UK is a company that needs to make money and it is really not worth investing any more time into something that only sold roughly 100 copies.

Game Boy Classic “Gargoyle’s Quest” rated for Australian 3DS release…

Those of you who are hungering for 3DS Virtual Console titles can celebrate, as it looks like the Ghosts ‘n Goblins spinoff, Gargoyle’s Quest, will be headed to the eShop sometime soon. Japan have already received the Game Boy classic, but it has now been rated by the Australian Classification’s board which of course means a release for Gargoyle’s Quest is now inevitable.

Firebrand, who is the main character of the game will also be featured in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 when it releases later this year. Nothing has been mentioned about a U.S. release as of yet, but I would imagine a rating (or date) should be emerging soon enough. Stay tuned, as once an official date is revealed for Gargoyle’s Quest, we will be sure bring you the news here.

Star Wars Blu-Ray Set will have 40 Hours Bonus Footage

The upcoming Star Wars Complete Saga Blu-Ray set which is slated to be released September 16th, 2011. The Blu-Ray set has been announced to feature a mamoth 40 hours of bonus footage which in total is more footage then all 6 films combined.

The extra footage featured on the Blu-Ray set includes, never before seen footage, Lucasfilms archives as well as rare documentaries. All of which comes snuggled in with all 6 movies in what is being promoted as the definitive Star Wars Collection.
