Harvest Moon: The Tale of Two Towns’ DS version sprouts up on shelves September 20th

Why yes Nori, Natsume has a present not only for you, but for the rest of Harvest Moon fans everywhere. Hot on the heels of their release date announcement for Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny, Natsume has given the Nintendo DS version of Harvest Moon: The Tale of Two Towns a release date as well. Harvest Moon: The Tale of Two Towns will be released on September 20th which is only one week earlier than that of Tides of Destiny, which means September is going to be a huge month for fans of farming and romance.

For those who don’t know, The Tale of Two Towns is the first Harvest Moon game to let players select which town they choose to live in, either Konohana or Bluebell. These towns used to be friendly with one another, but began feuding over who made the best food, which caused the town to become rivals with one another. Also this title will be the first to feature the Alpaca as a raise-able animal, plus if you pre-order the title you will receive a stuffed Alpaca plushie all your own. At this moment of time, the Nintendo 3DS version of this title has yet to receive release date, though apparently one “will be announced shortly.”

Lonesome Road DLC for Fallout: New Vegas arrives on September 20th

Despite a delay back in July that was beyond the developers control, it seems that fans of Fallout: New Vegas will soon be able to bring the courier to the end of his long journey. The last piece of Fallout: New Vegas DLC expansion packs, Lonesome Road, has been given a brand new release date of September 20th and will cost $9.99 or 800 MSP depending on your platform of choice between the PC, PS3 and 360.

Besides the expansion DLC, Bethesda has also announced that two DLC packages will also be released. Courier’s Stash and Gun Runners’ Arsenal will arrive a week after Lonesome Road on September 27th. The Courier’s Stash will cost $1.99 or 160 MS Points and will provide the player with all of the pre-order only content such as the Mercenary Pack and Caravan Pack. The Gun Runners’ Arsenal will add a number of new unique weapons, ammo types and weapon mods and will cost a bit more than the other package, standing at $3.99 or 320 MS Points

Trine 2 gets European release on PC and Mac

Trine 2 is all set for a retail and digital release in Europe, with developers Frozenbite teaming up with Focus Home Interactive to bring the side scrolling adventure sequel to PC and Mac in Q4 2011. Also slated for a PSN and XBLA release, the game is a follow up to 2009’s Trine, which received strong reviews and sold close to a million copies.

The three characters from the first game all return, with players able to choose between Zoya the thief, Amadeus the wizard and Pontius the knight. In addition to single player the game will also have both online and offline co-op, so all three characters can take to the screen simultaneously. As with the first game, the platforming will be full of physics based puzzles to solve and plenty of monsters to mash.

As you can see the game looks absolutely stunning, and is full of highly detailed and richly coloured fantasy landscapes. The original soundtrack is composed by the returning Ari Puilkkinen, (who’s responsible for the rather awesome Angry Birds theme tune) and will be bundled along with the game in a special edition release.

It’s all shaping up to be a rather exciting package, so keep your eyes peeled for a review.

Sonic CD announced for re-release on nearly every game platform

Sega has continued to show their support for bringing back old Sonic titles by announcing that they will be releasing, or rather re-releasing Sonic CD on nearly every playable platform that there is available at this moment in time. Sonic CD will be available “late” this year on the PSN, PC, all iOS devices, Android and Windows Phone 7.

The only version that the game isn’t being released for is the WiiWare, which isn’t much of a loss due to the Wii’s current state of decline and quiet death. The game will also feature music from both the Japanese and European version of the game when it was originally released which is for the benefit of American fans, as the Japanese soundtrack is accepted as superior. Currently there is no news of how much Sonic CD will cost, though we can expect an announcement for that sometime in the coming weeks.

Twisted Metal arrives on Valentine’s Day next year, brings another kind of sweet tooth

Some of the most standard ways to make your way through Valentine’s Day without being killed by your significant other is by giving them some candy. But this time around, another sweet tooth is going to be visiting on Valentine’s Day. One that has a flaming head and drives around in an ice cream truck full of murderous weapons.

After it was announced that Twisted Metal would be delayed until sometime in 2012, there was no release window given for the title, until now. David Jaffe says that the delay has really paid off as they have spent the extra time “pouring, and tuning and tweaking and polishing the game” for fans when it is released. Catch Jaffe’s funny little video for this announcement below and even a bit of gameplay footage.

The Games Future is in Your Palm

On the afternoon of September 15, a Business Day during TGS, the Asia Game Business Summit will be held. What is the Asia Business Games Summit you say?

Only in its second year, five top executives of game companies from China, South Korea, Taiwan and Japan hold a discussion panel. The theme this year is: “The Main Battlefield of Digital Entertainment: Users’ Palms!” You know what this means, they’ll be talking about new portable game devices, smartphones, tablets and e-book readers. Focusing on the outlook for each company as well as trends in different countries and regions, comparing the industry today and all things in the future.

TGS last year had a focus area on the topic of mobile gaming, and rightly so, as it’s probably one of the fastest growing segments of the industry. In the last year alone, smartphone gaming as a lucrative business has taken off in various markets. One of those areas is Social Gaming, not something that I exactly agree with, but nevertheless find interesting because of it’s future. Reports last year were saying that Mobile Gaming will nearly double it profits from the period between 2009 – 2015, and that’s probably a modest projection. I hope to be there to find out what they have to say, I don’t speak Japanese, but that’s what translators are for.

The panelists of the Asia Game Business Summit are:

[China] Mr. Chien Tunghai, Vice President, Shanda Games Limited
[South Korea] Mr. Rim Chong Kyoon (Albert Rim), Vice President, NEXON MOBILE Corporation
[Taiwan] Mr. Aaron Hsu, Chairman, XPEC Entertainment Inc.
[Japan] Mr. Haruhiro Tsujimoto, President & COO, CAPCOM CO., LTD.

Warhammer 40K: Space Marine – New Videos

Welcome fellow space cadets. We will be undergoing heavy infantry fire by the disgusting Orks. They have invaded our home and stand at least a million strong, but that’s plenty more for us to kill. Grab a bolter rifle or chainsword; you are now a Space Marine.

THQ has two new Warhammer 40K: Space Marine videos for the public to gaze their eyes upon. First up is “I Am A Space Marine”. In effort to show humor, THQ provides ordinary people declaring they’re a Space Marine while incorporating in-game action. There seems to be a lot of spammed comments about a women’s ineligibility to be a viable Space Marine. I wouldn’t mess with a chainsword wielding woman. Nope.

The second video is the Warhammer 40K: Space Marine demo. Enjoy the highlights and download the demo to feel the action for yourself!

Capcom Fight Club – Round 2

First rule about Fight Club: talk about Capcom? On September 17th, Capcom is sponsoring its second date of the Fight Club tour in Bristol. At the West Country Boxing Club anyone will be able to join the fight by playing the following games: Street Fighter x Tekken, Street Fighter III: Third Strike, Super Street Fighter IV AE and Marvel Vs Capcom 3.

Think that’s all? Hell no! A DJ will be mashing video game music all night to match the intense battles of the contestants. And I suppose there is a very small free prize drawing for a measly item like an… ARCADE CABINET CONVERTED TO RUN PS3 GAMES! Holy crap, how can you not go now?

Check out the Street Fighter FaceBook page for more information: (HERE)

Question: How does a night of fighting get even better?
Answer: Free food and drink!

Gargoyle’s Quest Hits the eShop Today!

We haven’t had much to celebrate over in terms of quality releases on the eShop for over a month now, but thankfully Nintendo have brought out their classic Game Boy game “Gargoyles Quest” to the eShop today to give 3DS owners a reason to spend some of that remaining balance.

This Ghost & Goblins spin-off puts players in the role of the Gargoyle Firebrand, as he traverses the ghost realm to prepare for battle against the Destroyers’ King Breager. Gargoyle’s Quest will be priced at $3.99 and can be found in the Virtual Console tab in the eShop.

Also new today is Let’s Create! Pottery, a “Calculator”, and Magical Whip: Wizards of Phantasmal Forest for the DSiWare. New videos are also in the eShop with Nintendo Video, with the short film “Moving Still” and The Blue Man Group’s “Upgrade Your Life!” hitting the service.

On the Wii front, the SNES firefighting game, Ignition Factor has become available for 800 Points along with a new demo of the recently released
“Kyotokei”.
