Nisekoi Volume 1 released in English; now part of Shonen Jump Alpha

You may have already heard that Shonen Jump Alpha will soon be released simultaneously alongside the Japanese version of the various manga it contains, but there is also a new manga that has just debuted within Shonen Jump Alpha’s digital pages.

As we’ve previously heard, Nisekoi is now part of the Shonen Jump Alpha line-up of manga and the first chapter of the series was released in this week’s issue of SJA. It is also worth noting that Viz is taking their license beyond Shonen Jump Alpha and are also providing the first volume of the manga in English as a digital download. Nisekoi Volume 1 will cost $4.99 digitally, though a physical release of the Nisekoi manga is currently unknown.

As for the story of Nisekoi, it follows a highschool boy named Raku whose father happens to be the leader of the local gang and a girl named Chitoge who is the daughter of their rival gang’s leader as the two are forced into a fake relationship to quell the anger between the groups. However with Raku searching for his childhood sweetheart with the help of a pendant around his neck, can he get along with the violent Chitoge and avoid bloodshed?

Metro: Last Light’s Survivor Series: ‘The Model’

THQ have launched the second instalment of the ‘Survivors’ series of videos, which follow specific characters from the Metro: Last Light promotional short film Enter The Metro, which we were treated to earlier this year. This second video follows ‘The Model’; a prototypical socialite who quickly finds that celebrity no longer means anything in this now wasteland of a home:

‘Spotted by a modeling scout on a Moscow street at the age of 15, she found herself to be a hot commodity, making her first million with only 3 years in the industry. But she became demanding; she knew she was the most sought after model and she used that knowledge to get what she wanted. But it didn’t last. Her agency dropped her, and she squandered her wealth. Marrying an extremely influential man with a cruel reputation, she found someone who could provide for her the lavish lifestyle she demanded.

However, when disaster struck and the missiles were about to be launched, she was whisked away into the Metro, separated from him as he was stationed at a bunker on the outskirts of Moscow. Inside that station, her status meant nothing…and there was no sympathy to be had for this Princess who now had to look after herself for once. When hunger and fear overtook pride, she found herself forced to sell the only asset she valued – her own body. More and more often, she thought of her sisters and her mother, all of the women of her family now alive only in her memory…and it gave her the strength to survive another day.’

The video is available to watch directly below. They fled to the refuge of the Metro and escaped Armageddon. Now beneath the toxic wastelands, a lucky few adapt to survive in this new and inhospitable world, an unrelenting purgatory. When it’s your time to Enter The Metro, how will you survive?

Kuroko’s Basketball author to continue the series ‘no matter what’

0

As you may know, there have been many threatening letters, some of which containing what may have been deadly amounts of hydrogen sulfide, mailed off to various people and event holders which have to do with the Kuroko’s Basketball manga and anime series.

This has resulted in many event cancellations over the past couple of months and many have been worried about what will become of the manga thanks to the fact that the sender of these threat letters has still not been caught. Well, Yaraon! has found that in the very first issue of 2013’s Weekly Shonen Jump, which will be released this next Monday, Kuroko’s Basketball creator Tadatoshi Fujimaki wrote a brief author’s note stating that he will not buckle to the pressure and continue to work on the manga “no matter what.”

Educational Kinect 2-Way TV Series’ Getting Second Seasons

Almost anyone that’s sat and seen kid’s TV shows where they ask the audience a question, wait for that awkward pause, then congratulate them on (hopefully) getting it right, knows that after a while that pause seems to drag on and on.  But with the use of Kinect for 2-Way TV there is luckily none of that fake awkward pause as there is actual participation.

It also seems like it’s proved itself enough to warrant another go with Microsoft Studios flagship 2-Way TV series’ Kinect Sesame Street TV and Kinect Nat Geo TV.  Both series’ Microsoft has announced will be given a second season, so kids and families can get back to interacting with the different shows and their characters.  Kinect Nat Geo TV’s second season will be hosted by Brady Barr, the reptile expert and host of “Dangerous Encounters” on Nat Geo WILD.

Both Season 2’s will be starting on January 7th, 2013 and each complete season is priced at $40.00 (AUD) or 2400 MS Points and feature 8 30-minute episodes which can be downloaded on Xbox Live after getting the Season Pass.  Alternatively, individual episodes will be available for $6.75 (AUD) or 400 MS Points.

Aero Porter Flies onto the eShop

If this week’s Nintendo downloads were awarded prizes for witty titles, Level-5’s Aero Porter would take home the gold. This week, the airport sim/puzzle title has hit the eShop on the 3DS for $4.99, and is a lot broader than one might think.

Check out this description for some deets:

In AERO PORTER, the player is charged with managing the busy day-to-day operations of a bustling airport through gameplay that includes both clever puzzle elements and simulation challenges. While running their flight hub, players sort color-coded luggage onto conveyor belts while avoiding mishaps and delays, all while ensuring the on-time departures of airplanes. As the game progresses, players earn money and increase their passengers in order to expand their airport, unlock new gameplay elements, and raise the level of challenge. Players are also able to design and share their own planes with a wide range of colors and patterns via StreetPass.

While that may be the big release on the eShop, there still is other offerings this week. For $4.99, players can sink their teeth into the 1991 version of Pac-Man, featuring a simultaneous co-op mode. Bloons TD 4 also has appeared, which offers a tower defense romp featuring…well, Bloons at $4.99. Finally, Invasion of the Alien Blobs! is your cheapie this week at $1.99, and is sure to catch the interest of shooter fans.
