DeNA’s Lawless in Development for iOS

Lawless-1.0

Welcome to Los Angeles in 1997, a ruthless city that will surface in DeNA and EightPixelsSquare’s free mobile game, Lawless, in development for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

Lawless upholds no boundaries as an arcade shooter, immersing players into the life of a high-end professional criminal. Prepare to take on high-risk mission; gang shootouts, bank robberies and assassination assignments, across the real-world model of LA, using simple touch and gesture controls.

Lawless-2.0

Ben Cousins, head of DeNA’s European studio operations and general manager of the Scattered Entertainment studio, declared “Lawless is an intense, skilful game designed as an ode to classic ‘light gun’ shooters and filled with the retro Californian feel of ‘90s bank robber movies. It’s been a great experience collaborating with the talented team involved with Dead Space: Extraction to bring a cinematic arcade shooter experience to mobile.”

Currently, players can pre-register for the free-to-play title here, in order to obtain an exclusive Glock 17 Dual Wield in-game weapon and receive an alert when Lawless will be released worldwide, at the App Store.

Hakuoki-Stories-of-the-Shinsengumi-reveal- (3)

In recent years many otome games have started to head to the West and perhaps the Hakuoki series is the most prevalent as Aksys Games has brought the title to North America a few times already. Well they are about to do it again as they have announced that they are bringing Hakuoki: Stories of the Shinsengumi to North America for the PlayStation 3.

This version of the game does offer some more content however as it provides additional events that add around twenty hours of content to the game, the ability to play through the “Stories of the Shinsengumi” after playing through the main game which takes a modern-day look at these characters in various short stories and a media gallery to look at various scenes from the game.

Mugen Souls Z heads West in 2014

mugen-souls-z-opening

Remember Mugen Souls Z? Well it is alright if you may have forgotten about it since it has been over six months since the game was released in Japan and at the time it appeared that NIS America had no interest in bringing the sequel to Mugen Souls to North America.

It seems that has changed as today NIS America has announced that they are planning on bringing Mugen Souls Z to North America and Europe in 2014. The game will be given both physical and digital releases on the PlayStation 3. Unfortunately one of the sticking points of the original Mugen Souls will return in Z as NIS America is going to remove “certain aspects” of the release “due to the sensitive nature of some content” which means the bathing mini-games have been removed from this version of the title as well.

Update: New screenshots added below.

Offering this DLC for free for the first week it’s on sale is a celebration and a small thank you to them (the players) for helping us make this the biggest TW yet.” – Mike Simpson, Creative Assembly.

The Nomadic Tribes logically favour cavalry, allowing swift hit and run and shattering charge tactics on the battlefield. Three playable factions include new buildings, tech tree, campaign objectives and units.

Ubisoft has released a lengthy launch trailer and a set of screenshots for its guitar music simulator, Rocksmith 2014 Edition, coming out this week on October 22 for North America, October 24 for Australia and October 25 for Europe. A full track list was revealed earlier last week. The launch trailer and screenshots can be viewed below.

The video contains a series of interviews of the staff, players and even leading figures in the guitar industry, placing the emphasis on actually learning to play the instrument rather than it being simply a game.

Rocksmith 2014 Edition allows players to create their own original music with the aid of a virtual band. Over 70 instruments are included along with 55 hit tracks such as “Knights of Cydonia” by Muse, “Don’t Look Back in Anger” by Oasis and “Everlong” by Foo Fighters.

Standard copies include the Rocksmith Real Tone Cable and a 1/4 to USB cable, turning the guitar’s signal from analogue to digital in order for it to be recognised through consoles, PC and Mac.

The guitar bundle provides a solid, entry-level Epiphone Les Paul Jr guitar, along with the Rocksmith Real Tone Cable.
